Oh the things some business owners will do. We have a client who is bad about running personal expenses thru the biz, and she's also under IRS scrutiny. So we always ask her for documentation. She received a COVID EIDL loan, which we verified by data on the ACH transaction. Now she's telling us the monthly payments will be $1234.56 (example), and payments will be made to XXX . Says she can't send us a copy of the loan docs because docs were stolen when they had a break in a few months ago. She must think we were born yesterday. XXX is a fully owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Credit and neither XXX nor FMC processed EIDL loan apps, the payment amount is wrong (should be even dollars/no cents, and we happen to know what her exact payment should be) AND all applications and loan docs were handled electronically by the SBA. Even if she had docs stolen, she just needs to log into her SBA portal and print the docs again. She always comes up with some doozies, but we do think this is her best one yet . We think the $1234.56 payment is a vehicle purchase she's trying to get the company to pay for (yet another issue with her). We called her out on all of this today and we're waiting for her latest reply. Who says accounting can't be fun sometimes? OK, back to work for me. I have a deadline tomorrow. Bleah. She couldn't come up with something better than 1234.56? Really, up your game, girl!

Thermometer is showing 105 with a heat index of 116. My hydrangea are blooming so beautifully. Mom called this morning to remind me it was the 20th and DH has been gone 6 months. Gee thanks mom like I was not going to remember that. Son is coming tonight to look at leaking toilet and leaking car. When it rains it pours, lol. AC is having a heck of a time keeping up today not sure whether to be worried or not. Set at 76 cannot get down from 80 inside. Just put in text to DH's brother who is HVAC guy just to find out if that is normal. Having nice time communicating with DH's best friend who lost his wife. So much to talk about, I have been to dinner 2 times with he and his mom and dad who I love. I have know them for 30 years so it was good to reconnect with them. Going to their family reunion this Sunday looking forward to seeing everyone also a little nervous how emotional I will be. DH bday is Friday, DS and future DIL are taking me for dinner and a beer at my favorite brewery. Taking future DIL to her first wedding dress fitting on Thursday. Taking my mother out of the equation everything is going pretty darn good right now. ((((allikat)))) You are doing really well. So glad that you have that good friend to commiserate with. Don't worry about being emotional; you're entitled to be! And I'd advise Mom to not bring up anniversary dates, firmly, if you haven't already. People can be so clueless.

A new record breaker for Amazon at my house. I ordered tape worm meds for cats yesterday at 4:37 in the afternoon and they were delivered this morning at 11:07. I don't have Prime.
LOL Pretty sure that is my favorite of the daily quotes at the top of the home page of this forum.

My best delivery was when I ordered Old English Scratch Cover on eBay and it came from Walmart 4 hours later. Say what?

Toilet needs a hose and DS will fix over weekend he needs to get the hose. Here are the kind of things that keep us laughing over here. There is nothing wrong with car, a water bottle with a slow leak from a dog stepping on it made the mess in my car. It is all scrubbed clean and dry. The AC problem was self inflicted also. I had turned the air to 79 when I left the house yesterday then turned down to 76 when I got back home. It was too hot to play that game yesterday, now I know get it down to temperature and maintain. Nothing wrong there either, so it was 2 self inflicted problems and one real one.
I am so glad nothing major wrong.
Super hot here again today, 101 on thermometer right now and 40% humidity. Yuck...I hope my seamstress friend where I am taking future DIL tonight has her AC on, she didn't yesterday when I visited her.

I buy the commercial grade collapsible racks. Never had one collapse under the weight, and I've had as much as 200 items on them at a time.
Alpha the hummingbird was on the patio yesterday and today. He tends to come around the same time of day, and only on the 100+ degree days. I think he stops by to just chill out (pun intended) on the really hot days.
Break over, it's back to work for me.

She couldn't come up with something better than 1234.56? Really, up your game, girl! LOL! That was just a made-up number. The Chat thread is on the public section of the forum. Chances of anyone I know from outside this group reading my posts are slim, but still I don't take chances. I also don't want to violate any HIPPA laws either. She did change her story after we called her out on it My boss called her a hood rat, which appears to be the current replacement term for trailer trash

Speaking of slang.... Cardboardeaux refers to boxed wine. As in, "that Gallo cardboardeaux last night was a particularly good year." I ordered grocery delivery and instead of red seedless grapes the shopper picked up "jelly berries", a "sweet grape jelly flavored grape". They're nasty. They must be geared for kids because they're way oversweet.

Yesterday evening I placed an order for some of the priority boxes on the USPS website. Imagine my surprise when I came home today to find one, single solitary large priority box on my porch. Apparently I ordered one SINGLE box and not one pack of ten! I wonder what the mail carrier thought? LOL

Whine-I only have 4 zucchini plants and I am getting maybe 1 zuc a day, but that is fine, feeds me. But they are struggling with the heat and whatever. I was out watering them and found a bunch of copper-colored eggs on a lot of the leaves. Squash beetle eggs! So I read up on what to do, and the best is to use duck tape to pick them up.
The nests are in groups on the underside of the leaves. BUT I also have about 10 yellow squash plants and some of those leaves had the eggs. Apparently it is necessary to check ALL of the leaves every day???
Lordy. We are talking about checking about 100 leaves every day.

Nobody has enough time for that unless the squash were made out of gold. Sometimes you just have to cut your losses and buy at the grocery store.

Had a "cool front" move in and dropped the temps into the upper 90's during the day and just under 80 last night. I got up freezing this morning. Wore a sweater and used 2 lap blankets, i couldn't get warm. 79 felt so cold. Of course the feel like was back in the triple digits by afternoon. My body is so confused, don't know whether to freeze or sweat.

There is hope. I didn't check all of the leaves though. They are mostly on the zucchini which aren't doing that well anyway.

Walmart sent me a notice just now that today is Wellness Day at the stores. Assorted screenings, BP readings, etc. Except it ended at 2:00 pm and my notice arrived at 3:25 pm

Picked up Lola’s ashes today. She is on a shelf in our cabinet with our other Labs. Kevin was able to fit her collar and a baggie of her fur in the urn.
Arranged to change appointments for our PITA dog. They are going to knock him out, examine him, draw blood, cut his front nails and give him any vaccines while he is out. I take him at 8 AM Aug 2 after giving him 3 tranquilizers at home. They do a quick exam and give him a shot to knock him out. Hubby will pick him up a bit later that day. I just cut his back nails. It is too hot to walk him to try to get the front ones down more. The vet remembered him from last year🤣😜😱

We were supposed to have a storm tonight but it came at 3 and I lost my power for 4 hours. I am so NOT a camper. I ended up doing gardening since it is still light outside and it did cool down after the rain. At least everything got nicely watered (drowned).

(((Labby and labs))) Animals have such distinctive personalities.
Up north in Whatcom County- today was the Tour de Whatcom. The DH, now that he's 70, did the 102 mile route on his fixed gear bike (one speed, no coasting because it's a direct drive). I came down to the finish line to join him while he had a brat and fries with a pint of beer. He's groaning now in bed making meowing noises (we often communicate in cat talk). I rode a whole 25 miles on my 3 speed lol.
I'm quite proud of him. We got some thrifting in - slim Pickens for me but he did well.

Trixie is up on my desk alternately snoozing and chatting with me. She had her chin propped on my mouse, and when I moved it she fussed at me. So I put it back I don't have that computer turned on right now so there's no real reason why she can't use it for a pillow The youngsters (Simon & Twila) have figured out how to stay on the bed while I make it up. I'm impressed. I think I'll have another cup of coffee and then get to work on my To Do List for today.

Except the office chair. Simon hops up on it as soon as I get up. I have no problem removing him from it when I'm ready to sit down and go back to work. I simply remind him that when he learns some skills that will bring in some money, I'll share the chair but until then, the chair is mine.

Jamie Leafy Butt used to follow me around on the bed when I would make it in the morning to make sure I kept petting her - she'd have her tail way up and curled over her back and would hop over any adjustments I made to the bed covers.
