Good morning everyone. Another rainy, gloomy day and up and down temps, but not complaining as so far this month hasn't been nearly as miserably hot and humid as usual. Hope everyone has whatever day they want to have.

That was hilarious, Emerald! Bohemian Rhapsody is one of my all-time favorite songs.
That center bottom cat seems to be the boss of the cats there, his expressions fit the words so well.
Freddie Mercury loved cats and had so many on his estate. His favorite one was Delilah which he wrote a song about.

LOL! That was funny! Sunny and hot on tap for here today, with a heat advisory warning through tomorrow night. It wouldn't surprise me if the warning was extended to Thursday. I just looked at my apartment complex website and the smallest two-bedroom rent went up $75 in just one month. The size unit I have increased 30% in less than two years, based on street rate when I moved in and today's rate. It will go up again, I'm sure, before my lease is up for renewal. Yikes. I am soooooo not in the mood to work today. I was just handed an IRS notice for a client that apparently we received in 2021 but no action was taken and it's been handed to me, a year later. Seriously? If the senior partner thinks I'm going to talk to the client about it, he's going to be surprised when I tell him no way. If the bill is unpaid, the interest and penalties have accrued. This came in last year and either the staff member assigned to this client didn't do anything about the notice, or it was given to the senior partner who sat on it until now (he's probably cleaning out his in box and files). This particular client can be mean and nasty, although he and I get along OK. But I'm not talking IRS payment of $12,000 or more due with him. No way in he!!. I think I'll put this on hold until tomorrow and move a couple of mindless tasks to today

That was so funny! And so very cat-like! Memories of my cat, Muffins.
Kind of freaking out here. Last week I was working with my plants along my driveway and a black car pulled up along the side road and just sat there, about 25 feet from me. Slightly ahead of me with black tinted windows. Just sat there. I did come into my house. Then it left.
Today, I looked out my kitchen window and it was there again. I took 2 pics with my cell but couldn't get the license number. So I went out into the rain, stood in my driveway and took a pic of the license plate. And then it sped away like a bat out of hell.
I posted the pics of the car on Next Door and Facebook and everyone said to call the police, which I finally did. She said to call them the next time he comes around. Okay....
Wish that I knew someone who could run the plate...

If you call the cops next time, they can look up the tag.

I guess that I could have stood along the road to see who was driving after they turned around and were coming back down the side road. But I am chicken...and they might have played chicken with me. Splat.

It is terrible here. Not super, super hot but the humidity is awful. I actually got dehydrated yesterday and was dizzy for several hours at work. I was drinking extra water during the day but that didn’t help. I slowed down a bit and drank 44 more ounces of fluids and felt better. I am not walking today. At work, I am only going to walk inside buildings. No outdoor walking. Could be a bit of post Covid effects.

labbypaws - try coconut water - my Filipino friends and relations feel it hydrates better than plain water and it's high in potassium - they drink it in the very hot weather in the Phillipines.

I buy the powdered electrolyte packets. They seem to help a lot in this heat. Use them when I go pick up inventory at the warehouse. It's 103° here today, heat index puts it around 110°, I think. This is the coolest day for the next week. Ugh

That virus can linger in ways they haven't even figured out yet
We are still terribly hot and sick and tired of it but there is nothing to be done, except complain that is, lol. We MIGHT drop out of the triple digits next Wed, all the way down to 98. At this point, we'll take it.
Well we went to see mom Monday and so far all is well with the romance now that she has been declared competent to make her own decision. They have rules to follow. Apparently he does not have a roommate and she is allowed to go to his hallway and see him in his room, and they can even close the door and have privacy if they want. He however is not allowed to go to her room, or even down the hallway where her room is. I'm guessing because he's the male and they want to make sure he's not being the aggressor? But we told her please make sure to follow the rules because they can and will make her leave. She inquired about getting married so they can share a room but we explained to her that it could affect her financial assistance and we can't take that risk. Also we said maybe it's better if you don't share a room so you don't get tired of each other but she didn't agree lol. But let's face it, when you live with someone they WILL get on your nerves at times. We are only going every other week at this time due to the covid spread in the facility so it's definitely nice that she has company.
Denise, I hope you don't see that car again. And your hibiscus from last week's thread is gorgeous!! Funny I have lost several hibiscus plants to cold weather over the years, even though I covered them. I switched them all out over time for Rose of Sharon (which is apparently a type of hibiscus) and they are more spindly but son of a gun they have survived, even that terrible freeze from last Feb. I have 2 pink that have carnation type flowers and then two that are the more typical trumpet shape; one is white with a red center and my newest one is a gorgeous blue.

Jes-good luck with Mom!
Someone on Next Door posted that maybe the car belongs to a private investigator. So that is a thought. I doubt that he would be checking out my neighbor right beside when the car is sitting. Or hopefully he is checking out my MIL's house which has been empty for 10 years. Exhole pretends that he lives there since he has insurance on it and has his mail delivered there. But that is insurance fraud. He is too lazy to rent it out or sell it.

Totally useless trivia. Law & Order was originally pitched to NBC who didn't think the intensity needed could be maintained week after week. Then the concept was taken to Fox, who ordered 13 episodes but then backed out of the deal before any episodes were filmed. After that, the show was shopped to CBS, who declined because "there were no breakout stars". It finally ended up back at NBC, who decided it would work after all and the rest is history. I have to wonder if Fox and CBS kick themselves every so often about losing the major moneymaker to NBC. We're on tap for 102 today and the local power company is asking for conservation today. Third day in a roll. Such is summer. I dread my power bill next month though.

It's been really hot and humid here. 87 now and feels like 94. I just had to cover my one zucchini plant. No matter how much I water it, it keeps wilting. But I am thrilled that I am finally getting zucchinis! 5 so far, and the first of many yellow squash if all goes well.

Thermometer is showing 105 with a heat index of 116. My hydrangea are blooming so beautifully. Mom called this morning to remind me it was the 20th and DH has been gone 6 months. Gee thanks mom like I was not going to remember that. Son is coming tonight to look at leaking toilet and leaking car. When it rains it pours, lol. AC is having a heck of a time keeping up today not sure whether to be worried or not. Set at 76 cannot get down from 80 inside. Just put in text to DH's brother who is HVAC guy just to find out if that is normal. Having nice time communicating with DH's best friend who lost his wife. So much to talk about, I have been to dinner 2 times with he and his mom and dad who I love. I have know them for 30 years so it was good to reconnect with them. Going to their family reunion this Sunday looking forward to seeing everyone also a little nervous how emotional I will be. DH bday is Friday, DS and future DIL are taking me for dinner and a beer at my favorite brewery. Taking future DIL to her first wedding dress fitting on Thursday. Taking my mother out of the equation everything is going pretty darn good right now.

Oh the things some business owners will do. We have a client who is bad about running personal expenses thru the biz, and she's also under IRS scrutiny. So we always ask her for documentation. She received a COVID EIDL loan, which we verified by data on the ACH transaction. Now she's telling us the monthly payments will be $1234.56 (example), and payments will be made to XXX . Says she can't send us a copy of the loan docs because docs were stolen when they had a break in a few months ago. She must think we were born yesterday. XXX is a fully owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Credit and neither XXX nor FMC processed EIDL loan apps, the payment amount is wrong (should be even dollars/no cents, and we happen to know what her exact payment should be) AND all applications and loan docs were handled electronically by the SBA. Even if she had docs stolen, she just needs to log into her SBA portal and print the docs again. She always comes up with some doozies, but we do think this is her best one yet . We think the $1234.56 payment is a vehicle purchase she's trying to get the company to pay for (yet another issue with her). We called her out on all of this today and we're waiting for her latest reply. Who says accounting can't be fun sometimes? OK, back to work for me. I have a deadline tomorrow. Bleah.

That's scary Denise! I recently learned that you can get more info than I realized by googling someone's license plate number. You can't get a name but you can get some information. Sunday night we had one of the worst monsoon storms that I think I've ever seen. It was crazy. I attached a few pic's from things that I noticed on my way to the post office Monday morning. It's been hot and humid. Not horrible today, 105 but it's supposed to be 115 on Friday.

Yes Denise the humidity is high, its at 55% right now at 7:15pm. My AC cannot keep up. I have it set at 76 and it is 80 in my house and AC is just constantly blowing. BIL the HVAC guy said it is normal, I left house this morning and turned the AC to 79 since I would be gone, that was my error once it got behind it cannot get caught up. WON'T do that again!!

Its hot here as well! My AC, though only a few year old, struggles to keep up as well. Our 15 ft ceilings in the main living area don't help. It makes my small-ish house feel larger but certainly not cooler!
A few months ago I had a rack collapse and thought I just overloaded it. I bought another, identical one and it collapsed too! UGH! It only had about half as much on it too! I think I am just going to switch over to number tubs instead. I am nearing 200 listings on Ebay and 100 on Posh and that is the most I've had listed at once. I really need to get a plan together. I do have an extra bedroom I can use for this but it looks like a cyclone went thru currently. I have to keep the door closed when company is over and that bothers me.

Pyrex-I prop the sides of my racks on each side to keep them from collapsing. I use the 12 x 12 PR boxes for my taxes and with all of my tax papers, they weigh a lot. I stack those up against the sides of my racks, which keeps them standing. Mine used to collapse when they would start to lean sideways.

No more collapsing and it rolls around really well, with a brake on one of the casters so it's controllable.

Just got inside from doing a Round-up treatment on the entire shrub-beds that are around the pool area. I have no idea why the previous owners planted all those shrubs, I would have installed the concrete stamped-patio area to go right under the fence that is around the entire pool. Then in the summer just put potted plants and flowers in front of several fence support posts. It's a tedious job clipping and shearing all those shrubs too, and replenishing all the mulch every few years. The fence now is in back of the shrub beds and installed deep into the ground with concrete, so enormous cost to redo any of it. I hadn't gotten to this area in awhile and what a mess it was. In my mind it's like behind closed doors, you can't see it like the rest of the yard until you go into that area.
We are already high 80's going into 90's with high humidity for 3rd day, but nothing like those temps you all are experiencing down South. Stay cool everyone!
