Hey all. Long time no type. Been dealing with a lot at home lately. A couple of weeks ago I picked up a pretty horrid cough, along with pain in my chest through my lower back on the right side. Was afraid I'd caught covid again but tests came back negative. Then last Sunday I started to feel better and the pain was much less. Woke up Monday, went to work and had the cough again. Tuesday I woke up in a lot of pain, horrible cough and shortness of breath. Went to the ER and somehow I got pneumonia in my right lung. On Thursday, they had planned on putting in a chest tube, but since I was feeling better and my white blood cell counts were improving, they delayed it. Tomorrow I get another CT scan and they will decide on a chest tube at that point.
Also, during the first CT scan they found a 3cm mass in my left lung. They don't know what it is but they said they can't rule out anything even cancer, They are not going to address it until the pneumonia is clear. Cancer does not run in our family and I have never smoked a day in my life, so hoping for the best on that one. I haven't told anyone about the mass yet. I don't want to worry them for no reason.
Hope everyone is well. Please send prayers and positive thoughts.

Geez Jeremy I was wondering where you were. Hopefully it is related to your current illness. Hope you are on the mend soon.

Wow Jeremy. I was also wondering if everything was okay with you.
I sure hope that your chest problem is temporary. I have had friends with breast cancer to their lungs, so it wasn't from smoking. A 3cm mass isn't that big. My friends have had much more lung involvement than that and didn't have horrible coughs, shortness of breath and pain.
I am certainly no doctor, but it sure sounds like a complication from pneumonia.
You will be in my prayers.

Hope you get better soon, Jeremy! Out of curiosity, did the hospital do a TB test on you? Tuberculosis can look like pneumonia or lung cancer on x-rays.

I was getting ready to tag you, Jeremy - I was beginning to worry. I had pneumonia in the summer some years back, it was hard to believe. Please know that you're going to be knocked back for a couple of months with this and just take it as it comes, step by step. I jumped back in too quickly and developed bronchitis, so don't do that.
Please keep us updated!!!!!

The camp canceled out totally. No biggee for me. Just means we will be dead slow until the 2nd or 3rd week in August.

Dark, chilly and drizzly today - I don't think it got out of the 50s. The DH had his century yesterday (with bonus miles, so he dragged back into the house after 110 miles of hills) and I went to OTF for a double class today - it was nice weather yesterday, upper 60s with some sun so great for a hard bike ride, but today was good for being in the gym, so we are both satisfied.
Good luck for those people blowing up those fireworks in all the puddles and wet roads lol. It's actually still quiet here and it's 10:00 pm - oftentimes the place sounds like a shooting gallery, so I guess it's mostly just damp squibs, so to speak. Fireworks are outlawed in the county, but it's mostly to give local law enforcement some teeth to cite the people who let off the really dangerous ones - they're not going to bother the people with just the little pop-bang stuff.
Back in the 70s when I lived in town people used bottle rockets. Gawd, those things were awful. I recall one year someone was tossing Molotov cocktails around - they got arrested, though.
Tomorrow the rain may tail off, but it'll be cool and cloudy - might toddle out for a short bike ride tomorrow in the am.
