Online bill pay is awesome. I sit down once a week and pay bills. I also log in and check all my credit cards, to make sure there are no unauthorized charges. I keep a spreadsheet of charges on my card, payment due date, etc. Plus my due dates are on my budget spreadsheet, so I don't miss any due dates. I can pay 8-10 bills online in less than 15 minutes. I couldn't write checks and address envelopes that fast I have one credit card, serviced by a fairly large bank, that refuses to add bill pay to the credit card website. I have to either mail in a check, use the bill pay feature at my bank (who will mail the check) or make a payment over the phone (with a $10 charge). That one is getting closed later this year along with 4 retailer cards. Picked up my baking supplies I ordered from Walmart. The bags were pretty heavy, which made me decide to order the HEB stuff and have it delivered. Those bags will be even heavier. Plus, with HEB I can specify replacements and ask them to check expiration dates. I never let Walmart substitute because there is no telling what you will get. I ordered Purina Cat Chow Indoor. What was in the bag was Purina Kit & Kaboodle. Guess I'll take it back with the other returns I have for WM since the kitties don't seem to like it. I sure hope the 20 lb bag being shipped contains the correct product. I use bill pay but for the occasional and more obscure bills I need or prefer a statement to remind myself to pay. With the gap/old navy card I'd need to log into gap to find out what my balance is then send a payment through my bank. Too many steps for me

Wow, somany that is scary. I hope you are able to get it resolved. Oldest DD had an undiagnosed septal defect in her heart (we'd been told for years it was a benign murmur) and had to have a bit of mesh inserted to heal it. Then she started having bad episodes of afib that were crazy like yours (and she said it was NOT a good feeling). She ended up having an ablation and (KNOCK ON WOOD!) all has been well since. She's in great shape and they said ironically that's probably why she was diagnosed so late (33) because she wasn't having any effects from it because she was so fit. She was going for a routine bunion removal and they did an ekg and said it's abnormal follow up with a cardiologist. I bet you are so tired of doctors!
My twin just went through this, too, and she had an ablation, and she hasn't had any problems since hers, either. It's good to know there is an effective treatment for it!

Jes...I thought that the recumbent would be okay too, but even if I only used it for 5 minutes my knees would ache for weeks. But it was one that my daughter found when she used to go picking. Hope yours works!
Val, when my walmart has substitutions they send me an email an hour before telling me and I can refuse if I want.

Somany, I'm surprised your doc is treating your blood pressure with Metroprolol. My cardio docs have all used it when I have afib that doesn't go away but they take me off of it after the afib is controlled. A big side effect is it can lower blood pressure too much (as you've discovered). My neice and my sister both have had ablations, they're doing fine. My neice said the worst part was having to lay flat on her back for 24 hours. HEB baking goods order placed, along with a nice tip for the delivery person since they'll be schlepping this stuff up the stairs instead of me. I never thought I'd like having my groceries delivered since I really do like grocery shopping. In this case though, where I ordered heavy stuff like bags of flour and sugar, I'm more than happy to let someone else do the shopping and delivery for me!

I use quicken but I started getting almost all our bills online except Bank of America because I can’t figure out how to get the bills to go to my bill e-mail address (we have separate accounts but I pay the bills). I don’t want to change my login.
I have a spreadsheet I print out each month that has the date the bill is due, a column to show I printed the bill, a column for the amount paid and when I paid it. It works pretty well so far. I like printing the bill and I can reduce the amt of billing paperwork by printing on both sides with my laser printer. I put the bills in order so I know when they are due.
HVAC guy was here an hour. I cleaned downstairs today.
Colored my hair this afternoon.
Got a lot done.

As with my phone I must be behind the times. I get mostly online statements, stopped most paper bills from coming here and it's easier to manage. But I don't know how to do that bill pay system for my payments. Instead I go to the specific credit card login-in page for each credit card, check the transactions to verify they are mine/accurate, and then make the payment directly on their site. My choice of checking accounts to pay from are already set up for each card so that makes it easier. Then I check the payment off on my pre-printed payment spread sheet that has each card, due date, log-in and password.
I keep saying I need to get it done on billpay, one page, but I've just never taken the time to set it up. I think it might be because I use a few different checking accounts/different banks to pay our bills.

It's faster than using my bank bill pay feature. Plus, some of the bank bill payments are mailed checks depending on the recipient business, and I have to allow extra time for the mailing. Yeah, paying at the credit card website is soooooooo much easier. Plus I pick which account to pay from each time if I need to switch accounts. So it's National Waffle Iron Day today. That explains the Todays Special at QVC - a waffle iron

I like paying my bills online at each site, too. The only problem is that I use 2 accounts, depending on the available balance. And some sites don't readily show which account I generally use. And I recently paid a bill from the wrong account, but caught it in time to add $$ to that balance to cover it.
I have had a "bill book" forever which was a fancy day planner originally. It is interesting to see many years of bills, that I keep for some unknown reason.

Denise - I've paid a few bills a few times from the wrong checking account also. I had money in both checking accounts but the payments got recorded in the wrong checkbook, messing things up. Now, I make sure I look again on the drop-down and select the correct checking I will be paying from. Then I look at the payment confirmation again and record it right into the correct checkbook or onto my sheet with the amount and the checking account last four digits. If you get confused when looking at your possible payment sources, nickname your checking accounts with the bank name and the last 4-digits of the account. So when your possible payments come up, you can easily identify the checking account you are paying from. I have one identified by the checkbook cover color - the only cover that is red.
On my A/E card, I had 4 checking accounts listed and one was an old checking that I was no longer using, it was on the bottom of the list, I should have removed it. Somehow it got up at the top of the checking account list and I paid the bill from there when there was under 50 dollars in that checking account, and that checking did not have the overdraft privilege like our main accounts do, just in case. I've since removed that old checking from the list but it caused me a big headache for my negligence.

My problem is, like on my electric bill...they don't have a drop-down with the bank account number. That is the payment that I messed up. That darned bill is usually due on the 2nd of the month, and my SS comes in on the 3rd. So I have to use my smaller account sometimes.
But now I am super-cautious and double check all accounts. It sure would help if my SS check covered all of my bills....but no way. My smaller account is the one that receives my eBay payments.

I pay the electric bill, water bill, sewer bill, trash bill, oil bill and some insurance bills from my checking account bill pay. I am on budget with PECO and I can’t pay more than my balance on their own page. I should be able to pay my budget amount.
I went to the 10 PM Movie Tavern show for Top Gun: Maverick. There were only about 4 people total in the seats. Nice and quiet. No kids, no cell phones ringing, no food crunching, no wrappers crinkling. Maybe I can convince hubby to go late tomorrow night (Thur) since he is off Friday. I mentioned the other day I wanted to see it and he said he would pass. Of course I buy the ticket today and he asked me why I didn’t ask him. First of all he goes to bed at 8 PM🤣. Second he said he didn’t want to see it.
My first time at the Movie Tavern. Pretty nice setup if you want to eat. At 10 PM I just had a soda.

My beautiful hydrangea, hiding behind deer fencing. I have a bigger bush on the other side of my porch, but a darned deer ripped the fencing near the bottom and chomped off several flowers....grrrrr.

Today is my day for crank calls. I'm ready to scream - my cell phone is a Samsung and for the ring tone I chose "Over the Horizon 2019" by Samsung. Every year Samsung puts out a new ringtone, full orchestra ring tone and I like it, it plays on and on. Probably because most of the time my phone is in the car and I never hear it. Today the phone is on the coffee table here and already 5 crank calls this morning. That full orchestra Over the Horizon blasting out over and over. The loud ringtone starts at 328, actually very pretty, but once or twice a day is enough. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAuuvGQkZnwI actually yelled out STOP to it a few minutes ago, had to shut it off. I googled the phone numbers from all over the USA from California to Florida. Today I had a Vape Shop from Olympia WA calling, wonder what they wanted with me. One tech place, and the others said Robocall warning. Blocking the numbers is worthless.

That's deer netting? I thought the photo was a beautiful door mat with the texture showing, lol. It's a beautiful day here- sunny and not too warm. Feels like beach weather with a slight breeze. I babysat yesterday with DD so today I'm planning to focus on yard work and prepping my car. One of these days I'd like to get some listing done; it's been awhile. But tomorrow DH has a service call in Walla Walla- that's about a 4 hour drive from here. We're driving my minivan. I'm going along for the ride to share driving and help him stay awake on the drive home. The plan is to leave here early, get the job done and then relax on the drive home. Really don't want to turn this into a 2 day trip but will take a change of clothes etc just in case.

That darned bill is usually due on the 2nd of the month, and my SS comes in on the 3rd. Wait and pay the power bill on the 3rd or 4th, after your SS deposit is in. Power companies do not shut service off if a payment is made a few days after the due date.

I'm so happy as I think I've found a place to donate my musical instruments! I responded to a call on Next Door for guitars for a non-profit that has musical therapy for their hospice and nursing home facilities. They took my guitar and I asked them if they wanted my piano and they do! (Oddly, it's difficult to donate a piano for some reason.) Long stories and long-time having these pieces. I was too intimidated to learn the guitar years back when I got it to take lessons with my daughter. It was almost a mystical experience having it in my hands as I think that music is the highest form of art. As to the piano, I bought it for my daughter to learn when she was 5 years old. She took lessons for a year but didn't keep up with it. It has been sitting silent for lo the last 23 years or so as I don't play. It is a beautiful piano with an exceptional sound. I think it's terrible for instruments to be idle when they can bring so much peace, healing and joy in the right hands so I'm thrilled that these are going to a worthy place. Yes, I am an aging hippy.

My elec company adds a penalty for a late payment. Denise, call the power company and ask to have your due date changed. I've changed my due dates on many bills as things due on the first mess up my graph chart if I want to pay a few days or a week ahead of time. I'm sure the power company can accommodate you if you tell them you are paying from your SS check.

Wow, Denise, those are GORGEOUS! Hydrangea does not grow well here so most people don't even try. Too bad because they are so beautiful, yours are spectacular! I am only a little big jealous
Well were were at 80% chance of rain today and 90% tomorrow, so I mowed the yard in preparation. It's after 12 now and no rain so I check the weather update; they have changed it to 40% chance of coastal showers and still 90% chance tomorrow. Sigh. It's nice that it's cloudy and the the temp is down a bit but we need rain so bad. My water bill was $96 and it's going to be worse next month if we don't get some rain soon. I will have to water the yard tomorrow if it doesn't rain. Which is also a pain in the butt. I am the plumber's wife and we are practically the only house on the block without an underground sprinkler system. He asked me, are you going to dig it? Fair enough, I am not lol.
I bank with Chase and their online bill pay is super quick and easy. The only problem I have is some of the various light companies (open market here) aren't on list so I have to pay via credit card on their website. But then I earn cash back so I guess not so bad. Everything else I just pay though the website, really convenient.
I'm not sure about the electricity company but the city water bill adds $10.00 if you are late. And often they don't mail the bills on time. I have tried time and again to make an online account and it tells me my email is already registered but it won't let me sign in nor email me a link to reset the password so I'm stuck with paper bills. I have an old bill saved so I have my account number and when the bill is late I can call the automated system and get the amount. Super inconvenient lol.

jesmelric , have you called the water company to see if they will send you a new link to sign up for online? You may have to use a different email address. It saves them money if you go online, so most places will work with you to get you online. I'm officially off until Tuesday morning. The various crises of the morning have either been fixed, or handled well enough until Tuesday. Now...let the goodie making commence! I need to go by Walmart and pick up my order tomorrow, and Amazon is delivering stuff today, but all that is for Friday and Saturday's cooking. I think I have everything on hand for today's goodies. Well, except the individual serving bags but they're in today's AMZ delivery, and the food has to cool/set anyway before I can do any slicing. I was trying to figure out how to make some workspace in the kitchen given I had all the non-refrigerated goods on the counter. Then I remembered I had a breakfast bar. Duh. I cleared it off and moved all the packages of stuff up there, and ta-da, now I have prep space. I love my kitchen. There is no way I could have done any of this in the joke of a kitchen I had in ABQ. That had to be the smallest kitchen I've ever had, in any apartment I've ever lived in. My current kitchen is huge, even larger than the kitchen my mom had in her last two houses.

This is the list that Val sent me of the stuff that she is making. No doubt it will be the best bake sale ever.
Val has been such a help with this endeavor on all sides from helping us set it up to the baking and making handouts for the sale part. Without her, Angie and I would still be in the weeds.
Lemon squares Lemon cheesecake blondies Blackberry cheesecake brownies Lemon blueberry cheesecake bars (hopefully, these can be fussy) Ice Cream Sundae bark Almond Joy fudge Orange Creamsicle fudge Strawberry pecan fudge Peach cobbler fudge Lime coconut balls M&M forgotten cookies (as long as the humidity doesn't screw them up) Orange chocolate chip forgotten cookies (as long as the humidity doesn't screw them up)
