I'm glad to see the @kritter rollercoaster back! My favourite is the Thanksgiving with the big turkey leg, but I really like this one, too. It's 90 here, and of course no one is used to it because we basically get one day to acclimate so people are nearly passing out from dehydration and going off to sit in any body of water they can find to cool off. Tomorrow and for the rest of the week it will be back into the 60s and cloudy/rainy with a couple of days with the sun peeking through and maybe low 70s. The temp is due to drop this evening by about 35 deg. Oh well. Got another needle stuck in my foot - they're not shooting the cortisone into my fascia but into the inflamed area next to the achilles tendon (which is what is really strained) and I'm now in a foot/ankle brace that I'm supposed to wear with any activity. It fits easily inside any shoe wear and is actually quite well designed. After a while I'll get orthotics designed for my high arches, though the doc says that looking at my feet he thinks OTC orthotics will work, but they have to be the right model, and he'll work with me on that. The $$$ Superfeet I got will not do because they're not designed for high arches but more 'normal' or flatter feet. I may use them for my cycling shoes, though, which don't get so much impact as running/hiking, and where having the hard plastic is actually a bonus.

Just an FYI - if anyone has credit cards serviced by Comenity Bank (now Bread Financial), you might want to sign up for one of the identity lock services. Comenity is the largest servicer of retail branded credit cards. If you have a department store or online retailer credit card, chance are good that Comenity/Bread services the card.
There is a possibility they have been hacked but have not yet disclosed it. Just speculation right now, but...
The Comenity websites have been down for almost a week, with the official line being "We are currently undergoing a planned system update that has taken longer than expected. We are working to restore service as quickly as possible, and your account information will remain secure through this update. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this disruption."
This has been since at least last Thursday, possibly earlier than that. For a few days you could at least make account payments but that feature has now been disabled.
Calling customer service to make a phone payment is not an option, you get a recording that says "We are currently undergoing a planned system update that has taken longer than expected. We are working to restore service as quickly as possible, and your account information will remain secure through this update. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this disruption." Then it tells you to call back at a later date (seriously, "later date") if you want to speak with Customer Service. They are not giving any details on social media, and now I'm seeing multiple comments of the cards being declined in stores. This doesn't sound like a planned system update, it sounds like a data breach.
/PSA
Update to my above post. It appears that some of the branded credit card websites serviced by Comenity Bank/Bread Financial have been down since 6/20. It doesn't take a week to do a "systems update".

Have always wondered why there is a Fifth Third Bank. Say what? Omg lol I've heard the name but I don't think there's any around here. When we bought our house in 1999 I opened an account with Bank United. Which eventually became Washington Mutual. Which eventually became Chase. Ugh.
Well we had some RAIN yesterday!! It rained quite hard for a little bit then moderate for a bit after that. Not nearly what we need but hopefully a good start, rain chances go up again for Thursday and Friday. The power blinked twice and messed up the Dish tv twice but it was worth it lol. I sure am hoping we will get more, it seems hot and dry is coming back next week
We went to see mom yesterday and had a nice visit. I brought her a small serving of fresh watermelon which she enjoyed. We got the echo cardiogram results back and her heart is fine, everything looks good. I'm thinking the low energy has maybe just been age and maybe the blood sugar contributed, she's been seeming to have a bit more energy since the new place is keeping it more under control.
Chap I sure hope your foot is improving. My midfoot arthritis has been painful the last few times I did the elliptical so I am thinking it's probably time for me to switch to a recumbent stationary bike. I got my first treadmill when I was probably 25? The first two I had were manual and then I went through 2 or 3 motorized and I switched to the elliptical 7 years ago because of my knees. I hate to give it up but I'm afraid I'll cause my arthritis to deteriorate more and it's probably best to go ahead and switch. I feel like I am losing ground, though. But I found a nice Schwinn and it seems you can really get your heart rate up which is good. I do videos on other days which is more full body workout so hopefully I won't be losing too much.

Cloudy and a bit cooler here today, high of only 87 forecast with some rain. My area has had a little bit already. I took the afternoon off so I could decide what I'm making for Kritter's adoption bakesale this weekend, get the stuff ordered online if needed, and swing by the grocery store for the rest of the stuff. Sooooooooooooo many recipes out there on the internet! The internet is the best thing ever to happen to "recipe books". I'm like a kid in an ice cream shop when I try to decide what sweets to make for events. What to pick, what to pick?? I think I'm going to make an assortment of vanilla-based fudge in summer flavors - orange creamsicle, pina colada, maybe banana walnut (I'm waffling on that one - would it be too heavy for the summer?). And of course forgotten cookies. I'm trying to score some red/white/blue M&Ms locally - it's too hot to order online for delivery. If that mission fails, I might go with orange chocolate chip forgotten cookies. I go nuts when I bake (OK, so I actually go overboard but no one has ever complained to me about it). OMG. So many decisions to make

What about a lemon or strawberry flavor instead of the banana walnut?
I am hearing thunder over here on my side of town.
Are you still doing lemon bars? I have a confirmed buyer for lemon bars.

Yes, I'm doing at least one batch of lemon bars. Depending on how they turn out, I might make a batch for each day. I have a recipe for strawberry pecan fudge. I'm wondering how it would taste with semi-sweet chocolate chips added, to cut the sweetness of the strawberry jam. So far, all of the lemon fudge recipes need to be refrigerated, but I'm still looking. I do have a lemon brownie recipe I want to make, along with the lemon bars. Oh, I found a lemon dipped cookie recipe too! Ritz crackers, lemon frosting in the middle, dipped in white chocolate. Thoughts on that one, anyone?

Geez, I LOVE lemon bars. My FB feed is always filled with yummy desserts. Been craving one of those refrigerator poke cakes with jello poured in the holes and whip cream on top. So easy and refreshing during the hot summer months. When I moved into Cliff's, I donated all of my cookbooks. I don't miss them.
I had to return something to Old Navy. Paid for it using paypal. The refund was processed today so the money was in PP account. REALLY strugged to get the funds transferred to my bank account. I couldn't find the withdrawl button so I ened up sending it to myself like I would anyone using my email address. It was so weird.

I would think that anything dipped in white chocolate has to be good.

Went to kohls to use my kohls cash. Didn’t have the socks hubby wanted. I managed to get out of there only spending $30 over the kohls cash amount, ugh. I will pay that bill next time it is due.
Great day here. Cooler, less humid and sunny.
Getting ready to start shopping for my trip to western Ohio. I only need a couple of food items. Hoping to get Diet Dr Pepper on sale here. I am driving out there and back. Stopping by my friend’s house overnight. Not sure where I am stopping (and if) on my way home.

Love lemon. Currently have lemon pudding cups here. Val-everything sounds great.
Bread Financial sounds ridiculous.
Jes-does the recumbent bike hurt your knees? I guess that I have some arthritis in my knees and when I used my recumbent, my knees would hurt for weeks. My knees typically don't hurt much, except lately my knee on my broken leg has pain along the side. Hope that the "knee nail" isn't coming out. I have heard about that happening. I can't use my treadmill since I am on the chemo from heck that makes my hands and feet so sore.

Really? That is the best name that they could come up with? I know - everything is 'cute' now - I'm surprised they didn't call it Bread'r or some stupid thing like that. jesmelric - you can do targeted strength exercises for your feet that can help keep them flexible and strong so it counters your arthritis. I know how you feel about 'losing ground' though - I seem to be on the comeback trail a lot. Your foot pain with the elliptical also may have to do with stiff calves and feet and doing specific stretches for that is good. I've found a wealth of information from qualified sources on yout-tube. Honestly, just keeping moving is great!

Most (if not all) of the websites are still down. I just read several posts by card holders who received text notices of charges that were not theirs, and they could not get thru to the fraud department to report the charges. I pay my cards off every month so closing my 4 accounts will be quite easy to do. I don't really need those cards anyway.
FYI, Comenity Bank offers nearly 150 retail store-branded credit cards, including:

I've been wanting to close two of the branded cards I have with Comenity anyway. I may end up closing all 4 of them. It's not like I need them, and the regular Visa/Mastercards are more usable anyway.

I was going to say that I don’t have any retails cards but then I remembered I do have a gap card that I was using for old navy purchases. Stopped using it though because they went paperless and I’m afraid that If I use it I’ll forget to log in and pay it on line. Really love old navy, scored some cute stuff there recently. It was all cheap but decent quality and actually fit perfect. Except for one pair of jeans.

Speaking of EKG's, I had my annual checkup last week, and my heart rate was only 43. The nurse tried 3 times, thinking there was something wrong with the electrodes (or whatever they are called). I have been extremely tired lately. My B12 had been low, but it got back to normal, and I was still tired. I was going into my surgeon next month to tell him I wanted the bypass reversed, but it turns out it is my heart rate making me so tired. The GP took my off the Metoprolol I was taking for blood pressure, and the heart rate is pretty much back to normal, except I had an afib situation Sunday night. Lasted about an hour and the heart rate got up as high as 150 (I can see it on my watch app), so now I have an appointment with a cardiologist in 2 weeks (the earliest they had, even though the GP wanted me in this week). I am very tired of doctor's appointments! I will be having a hysterectomy in the next couple of months to correct the bladder issue I have. And I have to see a gastroenterologist for another issue I have, and I have one more test to confirm the diagnosis on my thyroid, which is pretty much a non-issue (he said it would take years for the issue with it to cause me any harm that would be noticeable). Still it's one more appointment. At least now I won't be struggling to get to the appointments like I was, since I was so tired. In hindsight, I can see the heart rate was low when I was at rest, but it would get in the normal range when I did anything. But since I was falling asleep when sitting, and not wanting to get up in the morning, I thought what I was doing was wearing me out, so I had been curtailing a lot of things to conserve my energy. So happy I can do normal things again!!

Online bill pay is awesome. I sit down once a week and pay bills. I also log in and check all my credit cards, to make sure there are no unauthorized charges. I keep a spreadsheet of charges on my card, payment due date, etc. Plus my due dates are on my budget spreadsheet, so I don't miss any due dates. I can pay 8-10 bills online in less than 15 minutes. I couldn't write checks and address envelopes that fast I have one credit card, serviced by a fairly large bank, that refuses to add bill pay to the credit card website. I have to either mail in a check, use the bill pay feature at my bank (who will mail the check) or make a payment over the phone (with a $10 charge). That one is getting closed later this year along with 4 retailer cards. Picked up my baking supplies I ordered from Walmart. The bags were pretty heavy, which made me decide to order the HEB stuff and have it delivered. Those bags will be even heavier. Plus, with HEB I can specify replacements and ask them to check expiration dates. I never let Walmart substitute because there is no telling what you will get. I ordered Purina Cat Chow Indoor. What was in the bag was Purina Kit & Kaboodle. Guess I'll take it back with the other returns I have for WM since the kitties don't seem to like it. I sure hope the 20 lb bag being shipped contains the correct product.

I gave the elliptical away on the FB neighborhood buy and sell page yesterday. I knew I might be able to get a bit of $ for it but it would sit forever and my new bike is coming next Thursday and I have a small house and don't have room for both. It went QUICK! And now oddly I feel a little sad lol.
Denise, a recumbent is supposed to be better for your knees, so I am sure hoping this is!! I have arthritis in my knees. The bicycle I ride is an Electra Townie and it has what is called crank forward; the pedals aren't directly under you but slightly forward. SO much more comfortable on my knees! I looked for a stationary one but that doesn't seem to be a thing so I went with a recumbent. It wasn't cheap and got great reviews so I'm sure hoping it's easy on the knees.
Wow, somany that is scary. I hope you are able to get it resolved. Oldest DD had an undiagnosed septal defect in her heart (we'd been told for years it was a benign murmur) and had to have a bit of mesh inserted to heal it. Then she started having bad episodes of afib that were crazy like yours (and she said it was NOT a good feeling). She ended up having an ablation and (KNOCK ON WOOD!) all has been well since. She's in great shape and they said ironically that's probably why she was diagnosed so late (33) because she wasn't having any effects from it because she was so fit. She was going for a routine bunion removal and they did an ekg and said it's abnormal follow up with a cardiologist. I bet you are so tired of doctors!
