WM was out of the Raid ant bates so I got Terro. They created a frenzie last night but I don't see any ants this morning. Maybe they're not awake yet.
105 today with 35% humidy. Monsoon season is upon us. It'll be interesting to see if it's nonsoon or real monsoon season like we had last year. My roof was replaced last fall so I'm ready for anything.

Cold, miserable, and rainy here today, only 61 degrees. Yesterday was also cold, wore a long-sleeve top, today I put on a short-sleeve summer top but might have to get a sweater out as it's cool inside the house. It's supposed to be like this until Friday, then the hot weather will hit, supposed to be in the 90's. Feels like the end of summer these past few days. At least I won't have to water the garden or any of the potted plants, that's the only thing good about rainy days in the summer. It will feel so good to feel the hot sun beating down this weekend, I can feel it in my mind as I sit here looking out at this miserable weather.

They are asleep forever. Those ant bait little things are amazing.
I have a couple near the cat food in the kitchen just in case any new ant families come to eat. The cats don't pay attention to them and best of all, no ants.

It's foggy and misty here today, like being in a cloud and mid-50s. It's supposed to clear up later in the week and hit 89 by Monday - bleh. Then back to 60s and rain. Since we have so few sunny weekends in many, many months there will probably be a grand exodus out of town, so it'll be a good time to do in-town things! It would be even better if I could dang walk and take a long stroll along the waterfront up north of me.

Our Walmart has been closed. They screwed up their electrical supply. Heard someone got shocked yesterday.
Been running around. Had a list of stuff to do. I hate outlet shopping but I got some neutral eye shadow. Looked at Nike store for something but it looks like I have to buy it online.
Went to Costco and got dog food. I hate going there because they only take visa in the store and most of my cards have changed over to MasterCard.
Was looking for slide on sandals at Skechers. They didn’t have anything suitable.
Got a lightning cord at BestBuy, Guy points to the rack. I was about to leave when I asked him if they sold Apple cords. Oh they are locked up. So I got a spare cord for my truck. Seems the apple ones work better.
And I got lottery tickets for Powerball and Megamillions. Wasted my money but I may as well take a chance.
I would add I HATE Ulta. They never have anything in stock. I did make a brow appt for tomorrow. My associate quit there and she does it out of her house but it is too far of a drive. They finally hired a replacement.

Recently bought some random brands of felt tip eyeliner and stick eye shadow on Amazon. Love both, they were cheap and arrived the day after purcahse. Now I don't have to drive looking for Walgreens that have the Milani eyeliner in stock. The stuff on Amazon it just as good and half the price.

Anyone hopping on the reselling sriracha train? If you aren't a lover of the spicy stuff with the green cap, you may not have heard there is an "unprecedented" shortage of sriracha and the company has currently halted production. So it is selling for inflated priced on Ebay, if you can find it. I found 2 bottles at Target yesterday and decided to throw them up and see what happens. No risk if they don't sell as we will use them. www.nytimes.com/2022/06/22/business/sriracha-shortage.htmlI will keep you updated if mine sell!

We use Sriracha at our house, but there are so many alternatives that the shortage doesn't make a lot of difference - many of these are made locally and I prefer the local brands, anyway. The DH uses Sriracha only because it's cheap and easily found. It's good stuff, no doubt! People who don't have alternatives will probably be missing it.
Had to cancel another race - the one I was going to do for my birthday. I'm getting so bummed - I've always believed that if your feet hurt, then everything hurts (because it's true). After getting the shot in my foot I can now walk maybe 1/4 mile before I can't walk at all and it's interfering with everything. I go back on Monday - not crazy about the podiatrist, and if he annoys me more I'll fire him and just pay out of pocket for someone else. The several times I've seen podiatrists in the past, they have been wonderful, but I think this guy thinks he's cornered the market - not so much.

I have an opened bottle of Sriracha, I hardly ever use it. Should check the expiration date. Looks like we're ant free. Getting teeth cleaned at 9 and hitting a few thrifts after that. The stores were crazy dry yesterday, it was a huge waste of time and gas but I found 3 things that combined should at least pay for one plus tank of gas.

I have 10 pink flamingos and 4 blue flamingos in my front yard. Since it is so hot that apparently my flowers refuse to bloom, I had to add some color. I love my flamingos.

I used the Terro ant baits last year when I had ants in my bathroom and I was AMAZED at how effective they are!! I would definitely recommend them.
I wouldn't eat Sriracha if you paid me too, I am a mild food person lol. Although DH will eat it on occasion. I don't keep it in the house, though. So the shortage won't affect us. My greatest fear is a chocolate shortage
Well we had some actual RAIN yesterday evening! We haven't had rain in weeks, I didn't even recognize the sound at first lol. It poured down for a bit then moderate to light rain. Maybe 30 to 40 min or so? Anything helps. The weather pattern is supposed to change next week with more chances of rain. I've been trying to water my yard enough to keep it alive, but still try and be conservative. We are on voluntary water restrictions at this point. I sure hope they are correct about the change in the weather pattern.

One of my greatest fears is a coffee shortage. That's right up there with chocolate and would really suck. So pi$$ed at myself and I can't stop thinking about it. Stopped by a few thrifts after my teeth cleaning. Scored a light weight hard to find little widget that would score a nice amount. Was holding several things in my arms and went to check out. Immediately noticed that I didn't have it. SCOURED the entire store several times looking high and low. Nothing. UGH! It's time for a new color street mani... hopefully that'll help get my mind off of it. BFF and her DH left for Hawaii yesterday morning. Last night she sent that pic. I'm so envious

I can't eat hot stuff since my chemo makes my mouth sore with normal stuff. And I NEED my chocolate! I get Giardelli dark chocolate chips and eat one 15ml medicine cup full almost daily.
It has been in the 90's for days. Most of my area had a storm last night but I only had a sprinkle here. I have been going crazy and planted twice my usual veggies and flowers this summer.
And watering all of them is a pain. But they are my therapy.
My grandson apparently had a 24-hour flu and seems okay now. My daughter still has a very bad cold, but she went back to work today.

They are saying there will be a mustard shortage due to a seed shortage.
Cleaned 3 bathrooms today (2.5 bathroom). Ugh. I don’t know how cleaners can clean without taking a break. Can’t wait until my cleaners come! They are due back the 1st week of July.

Can’t wait until my cleaners come! They are due back the 1st week of July. I cleaned 2 houses a day through 7 surgeries, chemo and radiation. You do what you have to do to pay the bills. But I certainly don't miss that work!
I sure wish that I had some of that energy now.

Low harvests in Canada (world’s No. 1 producer of mustard seeds) & in France.
I had no idea Canada grew so much mustard seed.
Seed shortage could put the squeeze on mustard supply

Now mustard is a shortage that I can NOT abide! I eat the stuff right out of the jar. Guess I'd better get a couple of extra jars. England has a good mustard industry - I've hiked through brilliant fields of mustard.
I don't like chocolate much unless it's the bitter stuff and would never miss it, but I do like my shots of espresso in the morning. I recall several of my friends and I discussing what would be hardest - a shortage of good ale or a shortage of coffee - we hated the thought of giving either up, but would have discussions on our bike rides about which *really* would be easiest, or hardest, and why. I'll have to plump for coffee - I've got two espresso machines, a grinder, all the widgets like a distributor and tamper, funnel, etc. The DH is very amused by my fetish as he's a tea drinker and just brews up a pot of it and that's it. Meanwhile, I have all of this machinery and noisy spurting steam - particularly my elderly lever machine, watch youtube videos of people making espresso, etc., get into close discussions with others with lever machines, etc. I don't know how many nights sleep I've lost fiddling with my coffee infrastructure.

I do use mustard on my sandwiches instead of mayo or ketchup.
With my current chemo I have to drink dark roast coffee since the lighter blends taste weird to me. And I love the Gevalia Frothy Mocha Latte K cups. So one mug of each of those daily works for me.

BJs had regular French mustard. No Guldens except in the mixed package. I got some poupon. I have enough for a while. Will grab some another time.

Guess I better order some extra mustard from Whole Foods. I buy no salt added mustard (you'll never notice the salt is gone) and I've only found two brands of it. Sprouts in NM and AZ carried one brand in the stores, but the Sprouts here doesn't have it so I have to buy that brand from Amazon, where the sellers have the price insanely high (and this was before any kind of shortage). I found the other brand at WF about 3 months ago, and it's just as good. The price is reasonable...for now.

A shortage of mustard is one thing that I will not have a problem with. The only thing that would light my fire is a DDP shortage.
Kenya's Fancy Feast Creamy Delights Tuna shortage has me twisting in the wind as it is. She used to have to take appetite pills because she wouldn't eat anything and now she is whipping through 4 cans of that Fancy Feast stuff each day.
