Anybody that can't round up a $25 order on Amazon is not really trying.

I got prescription pet food for our cats from Chewy, plus a few other items. They sent Jamie a birthday card and the DH said "This is hand signed" - it was.
Amazon doesn't do that.

Hmmmm, if I had to choose between a $4 lower price per bag from Amazon or a signed birthday card for one of my cats from Chewy, I would most likely choose the lower price every time.
But, that is just me. When you are feeding 10 resident cats (one of those 10 cats is on prescription food and another of those cats will only eat 3 flavors of Fancy Feast) plus assorted fosters, lower price wins over any other perk.
Chewy can keep their signed birthday card unless a $5 off coupon is included.

I got prescription pet food for our cats from Chewy, plus a few other items. They sent Jamie a birthday card and the DH said "This is hand signed" - it was. Amazon doesn't do that. I get Janey's heart worm prevention and flee prevention (both prescription) from Chewy and they sent her a birthday day card, too That being said, I get her food from Amazon because it is cheaper lol. At one point last year with the supply shortages there was a time I couldn't find Janey's food on Amazon so I got it from Chewy. I paid a bit more but was just glad to get it. She's one of those dogs that have a sensitive stomach and you can't suddenly switch food or it makes her vomit. You have to start out by mixing a bit of the new food with the old and continue for several weeks, adding more of the new and less of the old, until the switch is complete. I learned that the hard way. So it's important that I can find her food.
My daughter added me to her Prime account, you can actually add a family member that doesn't live in the same household. So nice for me plus I get to watch the Prime shows.
We had some thunderstorms early this morning and when I took Janey out at 6:30 it was 63 degrees and breezy! In May! I Had to wear pants!! What a nice treat 2 more nice days then summer returns. It's nice to have a break.
Also good news that my friends daughter who has breast cancer (as my friend who found out at the same time) does not have lymph node involvement. She's getting a double mastectomy Friday. I joined the meal train to make her family a meal next Friday, I know she will need a good bit of recovery.

I liked the card. Chewy came through with nearly next-day shipping on a critical medication we needed for Jamie, and included the prescription food I had ordered which saved shipping. They're a great company.

Just an fyi to not let your gas tank go below 1/4 tank as it could cause premature failure of fuel pump, which is inside most gas tanks and more costly repair. I'm lucky I get pretty good mileage on my Cube, gas tank is around 12 gallons but sucks enough $20 barely puts 5 gallons in my tank. DH has a van so *ouch* to filling up his tank. Didn't know that and don't like it as it means stopping for gas more often. Bleh. Actually, it won't be more often if you always fill up when you're down to 1/4 tank You'll use up the 1/4 tank plus the added 3/4 tank (therefore a whole tank) before you get back to 1/4 tank on the gauge.

I agree, they are a great company but I have to shop where I can get the product I need at the lowest price and that is not always Chewy.
Just like it is not always Amazon who has the lowest price which for me is also a great company although I know not everyone agrees. And that is OK. Everybody can have their own opinion, of course.
I buy from both depending on who has the lowest price.

We fell behind overnight. I told future DIL that I am out of friends for voting, lol. That is how it goes with those contests. It is like snipe bidding on ebay. You never know who is hiding in the bushes waiting to jump out closer to the end. The best strategy is to organize and beat them at their own game.

We're leaving for the long weekend down in Silverton, OR at the Oregon Gardens. It'll be chilly and raining the entire time (until Tues) but that's pretty much par for the course for Memorial weekend, anyway, so that's nothing new. But it means I have to pack more bike clothes. Also bringing a bag of books - since I can't walk or run still, I'll be with my foot up a lot and so can catch up on some reading when I'm not tootling around on my bike or riding the little train around the gardens.
It's like three weeks before I can get in to see a podiatrist - good grief.

Have a relaxing trip. We are also getting storms Friday and Saturday. A Dunkin Donuts friend died of cancer about 2 months ago and one of the people we meet with set up a little memorial service in Dunkin’s lot. Hopefully the weather will cooperate,
Went to BJs and Wegmans for some groceries today. Relaxing the rest of my vacation. Added some music to my iPhone this morning. I had a list of stuff I wanted to download.
I forgot I wanted to pick up some neutral eye shadows. Also have to get some furnace filters.
Hubby cut the grass ahead of the bad weather. Didn’t really need it but if the ground gets soaked then he won’t be able to do it before he goes back to work.

YAY! My Lantanas in my hanging baskets are blooming again! They just needed to be dead-headed. They are burgundy and there are also yellow and pink petunias.
Purdy....

Only 21 more minutes until the holiday weekend starts We close the office at noon on Fridays and I plan to take the afternoon off for a nice, long holiday weekend. No travel plans here. But I did finally figure out how to "screen in" my balcony in a way that the office might not care about. You can buy replacement panels for the metal backyard screen gazebos. One section is the size I need for my balcony, so I bought a set. I even managed to find a color that is almost the same as the stucco, but light enough to not block much of the sun that I get. I had to order some large shower curtain rings since the ones that came with the screens were too small to fit the hanging pole I'm using, those will be in later today. So I guess the screening job will be tomorrows project I really hope it works because I'd love to be able to actually use the very nice, very large patio that I pay for as part of my rent

Twila, the "WTF" kitten and her new best friend Simon. Simon was giving her a bath and stopped when I snapped this: Trixie has been promoted from Princess to Queen and is quite happy with the new job. She's much more tolerant to Twila than any of the other additions to the house and even lets Simon sleep next to her now.

Poor Simon though. He's an affectionate guy and likes to sleep snuggled up as close as possible to someone. He tried with Trixie when he first got here, she said "oh hell no". He tried with Twila but she's not willing to share the two beds she's claimed, at least not while she's in them. So he sleeps next to me when I'm watching TV and in bed. He stretches all the way out, behind my legs, and he's like a little heater. NOT what someone wants in the summer. But hey, summer is only half the year and I discovered if I turn over, he hops down on his own

What a great photo! I love seeing happy kitties getting along so well together. I never had the knack for successfully introducing cats, so I really admire those of you who are calm enough to just let them work it out.

Sometimes in the mornings when I get up, I'll call the kitties and they'll hop up on the bed for some attention and discussion. Sometimes we all listen to an audiobook for a few minutes while I pet them, or I'll tell them what the day's plan is. This morning Twila decided to join us and even let me pet her. Here's Little Miss WTF snoozing while the audiobook is on:

That little girl is a heart grabber. I am so glad you have her for many reasons but most of all because I can watch her grow up and be loved and happy.

Trixie was laying by the toy box last night. Simon and Twila were running around playing and Twila ran from behind the futon and towards the toy box, saw Trixie and literally put the brakes on. It was funny to watch. She really wanted a toy from the box but she didn't want to go thru Trixie to get one (I told you Trixie was taking her new job of Queen seriously ), so Twila went over to one of the trackballs instead and played with that until Trixie moved.

We had an interesting time on our bike ride. The 100 mile course was cut to 70 miles due to impending severe weather. The DH, veteran of many hard mountain rides was annoyed, but I tried to tell him that the average bike rider (and people literally of every background ride) may not have his supreme skills (they are supreme) and the event organisers have to keep that in mind.
Well, turns out that NOAA was right - we had quite nice weather until about 11:00 am - I was about 5 miles from the finish line on my little 30 miler, the DH was somewhere out in the countryside still - when it started raining - no problem, we ride in the rain all the time. Then it started hailing. Then the wind got up. Then the rain thickened (but the hail stopped). I was soaked to my underwear in just 5 miles lol. The DH was dripping water when he finished. But a hot shower and a nap makes all better. The wind is gusting so high now, though, that the trees are laying over. Those people still out on the 100 mile course would be in big trouble! While the weather was decent, though, we had gorgeous views. I didn't get any photos due to hustling as hard as I could to get in before the really bad weather hit.
Have some pretty good photos of the Oregon Garden, though, and I'll post them.
The resort has a resident little grayish black cat, too - I was trying to talk to it but it was pretty shy.

Just a heads up - if you have any of the free covid tests on hand, make sure you have all the pieces (you can do this by opening the box but not opening the actual tests). All 4 of mine were missing the test solution, and that seems to be a very common problem with the iHealth brand. I started getting sick last night, woke up feeling really crappy this morning, but fortunately the meds started kicking in after a couple of hours and I feel much better. I'm still ordering some home COVID tests though since my symptoms are the same as what I had after I had the vaccine. I'm hoping it's sinus and not Covid After a tiring morning of watching the birds out the windows, the kitties have spread out in the apartment for a nap. I may join them
