Good morning, everyone! Summer temps around 90 are back down to 60s and 70s this week. Trees made up for lost time sprouting leaves and seems like overnight everything's lush and green again. Hope everyone has a good day and if you're going anywhere upcoming Memorial Day weekend, you can afford the gas to get there if you're driving.

Gas took another big hike here last week. I filled up at a full-serve station so it was 5 cents more per gallon, but I was running on fumes, the warning light had gone off twice already. The attendant put in $100.00 worth of gas, he said he could put in more but the Discover credit card cuts off at 100.00 at gas stations, which I never knew. I use that card because it has 5% cashback at gas stations this quarter. I'm already down a quarter of a tank - I'm going to keep filling it at that stage because somehow the quarter-tank tab doesn't hurt so bad in my mind even though it's all the same in the end.

I get this! I hate filling up my Vue when it's below 1/2 tank. It has a huge gas tank and I get total sticker shock!

Great weather today in SE PA. Got out for my walk. Sad that my pups are getting older and showing it. I have been watching my breeder’s page in case he has a show dog failure he wants to sell. We are on the list for a pup next year or the following year.
Relaxing today after washing the living and dining room drapes and sheers yesterday. Cleaners came a day early so I got all that wash done yesterday and my hip is complaining today.
Saving gas this week. I am off but not going anywhere.
Waiting to see if my brother goes back in the hospital. He went in last Sunday and had another endoscopy to remove debris from his pseudo cyst and put in a second stent. They said he may have to go back again so we wait until something acts up.

Ugh, I feel for you! I filled up the other day, and the amount on the pump before I started was $125. I can't even imagine spending that every week or so. Mine was around $40 as I only have a 11 gallon gas tank, I think.

Just an fyi to not let your gas tank go below 1/4 tank as it could cause premature failure of fuel pump, which is inside most gas tanks and more costly repair.
I'm lucky I get pretty good mileage on my Cube, gas tank is around 12 gallons but sucks enough $20 barely puts 5 gallons in my tank. DH has a van so *ouch* to filling up his tank.

I'm sooooooooooo glad I work from home. My only mileage is to the grocery store & pick up my mail, which I try to just do weekly as I'll spend too much on groceries if I go more often and the random trip to a store to return an online purchase. The only drive I have that is any distance is up to Belk, but they have a 90 day return window so I usually hold on to any returns until I have several to take back. Therefore my gas expense is minimal, maybe 1.5 tanks a month? It's nice after years of driving 40-90 miles a day, five days a week I do miss being able to walk out my door, down 3 houses to the bus stop, and catching the bus though. Now that was convenient! NIce weather on tap here for the week. Mid 80's until Saturday, then we creep back up to the low 90's. But that still beats the mini-heat wave we were having, with temps in the high 90s. We have rain forecast for the next 3 days, I hope it does rain. We can use it.

Keeps going up here too. Around the 1/3 of a tank mark I put in $25 which gives me approx 3/4 tank right now. Don't feel the pinch as much doing it this way.

Didn't get in the pond it was hot enough but just wasn't feeling it, lol. I also did not adopt a pup this weekend, just wasn't feeling that either but had a great time at the Bark in the Park and my grandog behaved wonderfully even though there were so many dogs. Everything else is good just doing a lot of yard work, in the beginning of putting together a patchwork garden using stones to mark out the shapes and putting different flower/seeds in each section. I will show pictures when it is done.

I paid $4.819 here today (actually $4.769 with 5 cent discount). It just went down 4 cents.

Gas prices are slowly dropping here - we're usually higher than most parts of the country despite the fact that we get our fuel from the Anacortes refinery just north of here on the sound so the logistics are pretty basic - shows you how much oil companies pad the prices (and they're going to town with that right now). We mostly burn fuel with out of town trips - the rest of the time we ride our bikes, walk or it's just quick trips, but we definitely go out of town.
The DH is slated for another century this weekend. He went up north to the Skagit Flats to ride a century last weekend and tore through it in 6 hours 36 minutes - he was saying something about "old guy can still do it" - yes, he can! He'll be 70 this summer. He likes those long tours. I've always like short, really hard efforts where you finish up drooling and having forgotten your name, but it's over with, and then a cuppa tea and a good book afterwards. This weekend we will stay at the Oregon Garden down in Silverton - a beautiful place I'm looking forward to - perfect time to go! We've had so much rain everything should be pretty lively. It's pretty bijou and they even have a spa! We're more Motel 6 types so this is luxe for us. He will do his 100 miles and I'll piddle through my little 30 miles - I'm bringing my 3-speed - since I can't really walk more than a block or two, anywhere we go out to eat or whatever, I'll have to ride whilst the DH walks briskly (we don't like to drive to pubs) and the 3 speed is a cruiser and goes anywhere.

Wow that is one spectacular cake! DH wouldn't eat it, he says "too much candy". Like cake with candy in it isn't a good thing! Lol
We finally got some much needed rain on Sunday morning and again this afternoon. The grass will go crazy but we really needed it. They say (and we'll see) it's going to cool off Thursday and Friday. That would be so great! Summer came early this year and it would be nice to have a little break. DH is off Friday and I'm hoping the VV will do 1/2 off for Memorial day, if memory serves they usually do. Monday DS and DIL are driving in to visit, youngest DD will come, too. I think we will grill some hamburgers. I am looking forward to it
Gas is about $4.30 a gallon here. Because I don't drive and DH drives a work truck and doesn't pay for the gas, we are really lucky. We only pay for gas for his truck and it's not like he does a ton of driving on the weekends. Although of course it's affecting the cost of goods as well, at least we don't have to pay both.

They also had it in red & green for Christmas, and bright multicolors for Fiesta. It's a pretty cake no matter which color combo you're looking at. The one for Easter was especially pretty.

I received a notice this morning that my Walmart cat litter order that was due to be delivered from the store yesterday would be delivered today.
I get a second notice about an hour ago that it is out for delivery.
Followed by a third notice about 15 minutes ago that they were having difficulties with deliveries and they canceled my order.
Guess I'll go order it from Chewy.

I was going to order cat food from Chewy this morning but went to Amazon to price check and it is $4 cheaper on Amazon per bag.
So, Amazon got the order needles to say. I love Amazon.

Weather is dreary but It's a good day over here, just got notice that they are going to pay the life insurance claim, plus interest, plus a refund of the premium I paid for this year. I really never thought it would come through.
And the refund of security deposit for my campground stay finally arrived. The list of things to do and waiting for is dwindling, thank goodness.

Guess I'll go order it from Chewy. I'm scratching my head on this. If it was out for delivery, why wouldn't they give you the option of waiting or canceling instead of just canceling it? And I thought getting stuff delivered here was bad. I was supposed to have a package delivered FedEx on Saturday. Our intercom/buzzer was recently fixed so I know it worked, yet when DH went out to his van, he came back with a notice left outside the door. Checked tracking and said I was "unavailable" and would try later. B.S. nobody even tried the buzzer to be let in. Surprised they actually deliver on Sunday. Again, never buzzed but when status changed to "delivered" I ran downstairs to find package outside the main door for anyone to help themselves. If I know a package will go via FedEx or UPS, I'm going to have it shipped to MIL's again.

If it is something coming from one of the local stores, they use DoorDash or one of those delivery services and they are hit and miss depending on who is actually supposed to deliver it.
I have had orders out for delivery and then they end up back at the store for "Unable to Find Address" when my house is as close to a straight shot from the store as one can get.
When that happens repeatedly for several orders for the day, I think Walmart just says "F*uck It" and cancels instead of leading the customer on with a scheduled delivery..

Great news allikat!
On pet food - I have switched all my dogs to Kirkland dry dog food. Eukanuba, Purina ProPlan and Science Diet have gone up way too much. Diamond pet food makes the Costco food and it is highly rated. We switched over the last five months. Did it with two of them and then just did the other 3.
Trimmed the shrubs today. Last time I asked my husband to do it, he did it with hand clippers and it sucked. Easier to do it myself. I am not picky but geez.
