Wow that is a good deal, I hate how they make you pay monthly now and it's hard to just buy it outright like you used to, it seems like that's what this is? I use Open office that's free, otherwise I'd jump on this.

The monthly deal lets you install the FULL Microsoft office suite (or any portion you want) on up to 5 devices (pc, mac, andoid, iphone, tablet etc). Plus it can be set to save files to the cloud automatically, and you'll still have the option to save your computer as well.

Yes. This is the full version on your computer. I had been looking at the college website first.

I never thought I'd pay a subscription for something like Office, but I got a year free through my laptop purchase and bought it every year since. I have it on all my computers and laptops and I don't worry about one of them crashing now and me losing all my spreadsheets. I pay $99 a year at the end of every Feb.

The website it's being sold on--is that one that you are familiar with? I've not heard of it, but that's not all that surprising... My current license is not monthly, and I'd prefer to keep it that way. I need a new computer, but the additional cost of Office was contributing to me dragging my feet on it.

They send out an advertising email each day. I just haven’t unsubscribed. It is reputable. It is a download and you can get it for Windows or Mac. I downloaded it for my laptop and paid for another copy for my desktop. We have a similar thing through work and I had not problem logging into the other software site to download my work copy.

Thank you so much for posting this! We got 2. I've been using our MS Office from the 90's, when I worked for the software company & we had a partnership with MS, so got it for like $20. It was a great deal! But I can't wait to unsubscribe from their deals, KSAT is sending multiple emails daily :-(

Can someone tell me how this might be different from Office 2003? We have that physical CD and have the program installed on all our laptops and computers. It was installed on older XP versions, then Windows 7, then on Windows 10 with no problem. Are there any benefits that I would get from this newer version? I only use WORD to write occasional letters and EXCEL. Would it be any benefit for me to upgrade to this as a downloaded version or just keep my 2003 as is? I always hate to pass up a great deal.

It is totally different in appearance.
I would think there may be security issues with the older version since it isn’t supported anymore.
You get the full version but if you don’t use it much you may not want to bother.

There are LOTS of new features & the look & feel is totally different & frankly, more complex, but I knew that. labbypaws The problem isn't security, as these are not web programs, they run on your PC, so no real security issues. Support isn't much of an issue either, I mean how often do you call MS Support. The problem is compatibility issues. When other people send you documents or you send them documents in WORD or XLS, if you have an old version it may not be compatible with current versions, especially if it's been 20 years. You have to weigh how much that happens for you though to the fact that the look & feel are VERY different & even I'm struggling to find stuff & I knew about the new 'ribbons' & all that. If you don't exchange documents often or go between work & home versions, it may be more comfortable for you to stay.
