Hubby did a back yard grass cut today. Guys are coming Monday (hopefully) to fill in all the digger dog holes. He had to cut the grass so the guys can find the smaller ones.
Lined the streets today for the funeral procession of PA State Trooper Sisca then I watched the service on tv.

I finished binge watching season 2 of Bridgerton tonight. Started last night, but couldn't quite stay up for the last episode. Watched it this evening. I didn't think they could get any better than Season 1, but I'm happy to be wrong Season 2 was even better than Season 1, and the actress playing Miss Sharma is gorgous. And she can act.

We went hiking yesterday up in Whatcom Cty - it was chilly but the rain tapered off and the sun came out- great views hiking along the Strait before the rain came back in. Bitter wind blowing down from the Frazier Valley today - on the freeway we're slewing around - nonetheless, loads of people are out looking at the tulips.

I finally broke down and bought a cellular shade for my downstairs den window. I have had a sheet over the window for over a year now. In my defense, it is plain white and I had it draped like a curtain. But still, I am not a college kid so that is not a good look. We really wanted a shade, not curtains, but the window is a super odd size. (65 1/2 inches across and 44 1/2 inches high including the trim.) We have to do an outside mount because of the window type. I have searched in every nook and cranny of the internet and could not find a outside mount blind with those measurements. I finally just bit the bullet today and ordered a custom made cellular shade from Blinds.com. Nearly $160 with the 30% off sale. Ouch!
I also made a Costco run today. I got every few weeks and every trip the prices have increased. The frozen beer battered cod I buy has went from $14.99 to $18.79 a box. The 4 pound bag of organic mixed berries is now $13.99. And in my area eggs have skyrocketed the last few weeks. I bought 2 of the 24 count for $3.99 for free range which is much cheaper than the grocery store.

pyrexandpearls - all of our windows are really oddly shaped and we had to have custom blinds made for both floors. Urgh - it's not cheap, that's for certain, and took two days to install them all. Whomever built this house must have had a relative in the window shade industry lol. We never regretted it, though. We don't have curtains anywhere - we got wooden blinds for the downstairs for a finished look and the upstairs either have no blinds or they're privacy blinds - black-out blinds for the bedroom and smaller similar blinds for the bathroom, so we saved on that. For my study I said 'forget it', I'll do without before paying yet more - I'm on the second floor and the only thing that looks in here was Jamie the fluff-ball cat when she used to run up trees and peer into my window lol. It's really gotten chilly here - the winds have increased and I can't get warm - I'm wearing three pair of socks (two are thick), a heavy shirt and a cardigan, and am ready to put on my bathrobe. Our daffodils seem fine with it, though - it hasn't dipped to freezing, just that kind of damp cold.

pyrexandpearls - you won't regret your choice of a cellular shade on your window, especially if you purchased the double cells. We have an extra-wide ten ft. window in our family room that had regular blinds on it when we first moved here. There is a huge difference in the air infiltration with the honeycomb cellular. As much as I hate that they need to be pulled up and down versus tilting them open like regular blinds or verticals, we wanted to go with more energy-efficient window coverings. Cellular shades have the highest efficiency value of all window shades.

I found an increase like that with the Jimmy Dean Delights. I went to Wegmans and they were cheaper by a few bucks.

We have a giant window in our living room as well, probably 6 ft tall and 5 ft wide. I think I would like to order the "top down bottom up" style for this window, which only has curtains currently. We could use any help we can get for insulation. I better get to listing though bc that one will be a doozy! LOL
