I know Easyshare will only work in the emulator. I gave up,on that. I bought an old cheap Dell XP laptop and use it for Easyshare. Unfortunately it is time I learned new software.

I loved the Easyshare cameras and software that was easy. PixPro cameras are a bit more complicated as they don't upload the same and then somewhere besides the "pictures" file and I have to transfer what I want over there. I tried updating software that's failed twice so will look up the manual and see if that holds any clues to make it easier. It would be nice to take pics again and not dread uploading and playing hide and seek.
We did get at least a couple inches of snow overnight so everything is coated in white. Supposed to be single digit temps with windchill. Glad I don't have to go anywhere and supposed to warm up again later this week.

For photos, using your phone is so much easier! I use my iphone, it auto uploads to icloud, and I download the photos I want. Easy peasy, no drivers to worry about and its fast. I cannot imagine fussing around with a digital camera.

I still use my old EasyShare. I have no idea if I have the software or it is Windows 7 doing the photo editing but it is easy for me to use.
Don't need anything fancy for cat pics. I think I can take videos on my phone but not interested enough to find out. Angie can come over and take kitten videos.
Has anybody who has hardwood floors ever used Orange Glo 4-in-1 monthly floor polish? That is some amazing stuff. I have the original hardwood floors in my house from the 1940s. There was wall to wall carpeting on the floors until I yanked it up in the late 80s. Never have been refinished because of the hassle so they were looking pretty sorry. I put some of that polisher down in the living room and I now have relatively shiny floors back.

Using a camera is about as fast as using my phone (I've used both). It's these systems that demand users utilize their proprietary software that gets to be kind of a pain.

We've had glorious weather here the past few days, mid 80's with just a light breeze to keep things cool.
I've been working on my long 'I can put this off until Spring' list. Cleaned out the sheds, threw away yard stuff that couldn't be fixed & reused, trip to the dump with all the junk, put out new or repaired yard stuff, raked & turned over the garden, deep watered & trimmed all the shrubs.
It's supposed to be cooler & windy next week so I wanted to get as much done as I could. The list is still long but the hardest stuff is done for now.
Can't wait until I can start planting the garden & then just watch it grow.

Nothing planted yet, neither alive or fake. I'm waiting until this last cold & wind snap is over so I don't have to deal with stuff blowing around.
I should probably start spring cleaning the house but I'd much rather work in the yard so the housework is on the bottom of my list.

I made myself stay in the house today and at least got a start with the den and the living room. Cleaned the floors and changed out the rug in the living room.

Kodak doesn't require you using any proprietary software. I have used Easyshares for practically 30 years, I bought several backups b/c I like the color so much on the cameras. You don't have to use their software, I don't. Not sure yet what's going to happen when the dates on them expire in 3 years, b/c I store by date but like Chap said, just interface it directly to your PC & YOU control where the pics go. I've never had problems with a PC recognizing it & I've had it on at least 4 different PC's.
I HATE using my phone for pics. I tried it & found it unwieldy, super cumbersome & just all around annoying. I won't use the cloud either. I like complete control.

Maybe a generational thing too? I back up my life to the cloud LOL. It saved my butt after my phone factory reset. We also have to use personal phones for work as well so I want all personal items backed up the cloud. I am sure somewhere in that fine print is their ability to remote wipe our personal devices.

We also have to use personal phones for work as well so I want all personal items backed up the cloud. I am sure somewhere in that fine print is their ability to remote wipe our personal devices. Probably "generational", it's still not my preferred way of doing anything. I only got one a few years ago. But, the bigger issue for me with the phone is I couldn't hold the phone, press the button & hold something on the item, say a sleeve or whatever. Also, when you're over 40, your eyes start going for close up, so it's hard to see all the tiny print & my eyes start killing me if I'm on it too long (I realize I can make stuff bigger, but it's not that much help). So those 2 things combined make it virtually useless to me for taking photos, though I admit the camera is GREAT & the color is wonderful (I'm a stickler about color). My issue with the cloud is privacy. I'm kind of a nut about it & I have no problems if I lose data b/c I worked in IT all my life. EVERYTHING is backed up in multiple places, both on & off site & done so on a regular basis. DH is also in IT, so we're quite compulsive about backing up. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with using it, but with the age of most ppl on this board is closer to mine & older, so I don't think most would feel comfortable using their phones for Ebay photos. I use my phone WAY more than I thought I would & if I were younger & didn't have the presbyopia, I'd do even more on it. But, if I'm watching vids or something, I want to see them big. In fact, I often cast them to the TV, so I can see them in their full glory.

I still take pics with my digital camera and then just upload them onto my picture file on my desktop. After I am done making listings with that day's pics, I just delete that day's file.
I usually have to lighten them a bit, so I do that on eBay while listing.

zoesam I am with you on the videos! I HATE watching videos on my small phone screen. My SIL will sit in her living room and watch an entire movie on the phone instead of they TV. Why?? We even have a projector in our basement so we can watch movies supersized lol.

My phone has a 48 MP camera with all kinds of bells and whistles. Most cameras on phones are 13 MP rear with 3-5 MP front facing. My front facing is 13 MP. Easily one the best camera on a phone out there. The zoom feature is great, it's got macro for close up and the video is 1080p HD.

Another kodak easyshare fanatic here. I've tried a few other kodak cameras recently. They're do able and I have them on standby for when the unthinkable happens but they're nothing like the one I have from around 2008. I was really struggling with the battery holding a charge and finally decided to buy new batteries for it on Ebay with a charger. Put them in and it works like a dream again. Best camera ever. Mine came in a bunch of different colors too Zoe. We might have the same one... M893. My current one I actually scored behind the case at a GW. It was used but in the box with all the parts and hardly looked used.
For the longest time I didn't like taking pic's with my phone either but I've done a lot of experimenting with different lighting and such. Use it a lot more now, my problem is with black backgrounds. I cannot get them to turn out right but with a bright LED light and fotofuze I'm happy with white backgrounds and I love using it for up close pic's of tags and such. I add them to listings on my phone or sometimes email them to myself.
Got text on Saturday from my tenants saying the a/c wasn't working so I was able to get the same company that Cliff recently used out yesterday at no additional cost. Tech said it would be a little over 1K to repair but the unit is from 2008 and I've been saving all of my rent money so we decided to go with a new unit. Getting exactly what Cliff went with. It's being installed on Wednesday. At least I have all of the big stuff out of the way now.
oh and I have no idea what the cloud does or how to use it or how to access it. My phone is always telling be my cloud back up failed.... lol

My current Easyshare is a white C1450 that I bought off ebay years ago when the one I was using then was having issues. Since I am not going to do ebay anymore, it will be strictly for kitteh pics.
No idea what the Cloud is and have no intentions of investigating.

I HATE using my phone for pics. I tried it & found it unwieldy, super cumbersome & just all around annoying. Just a quick tip - if you're trying use your phone to take a pic of something in your other hand, (or, in my case obsessive pics of rings on my hand) try holding your phone sorta backward, with the button you have to push at the far end. So, if you're right-handed, the phone would be held east to west, with your hand in front, your fingers on the top and thumb on the bottom. Just reach your index finger to the button, and click. It's hard to explain, but easy to do.

They are the truest I've ever found & I have 3 or 4 other brands, including a Nikon & Canon & they all have weird blue or yellow tint. ETA: I'm sure if I forced myself to use my phone camera daily, I would become more adept at it. We both used our phones at the Aerosmith concert in Vegas, but we had to spend some serious time getting familiar with much of the functionality & then I promptly forgot a lot of it.

BTW just a hint for all the Easyshare lovers out there. If you start having issues with their special batteries, you can use just regular batteries! I use Energizer AA Lithiums.
I have bought MANY copycat of the special batteries over the years, some didn't work at all, others worked for awhile & then lost most of their charge. My last one is losing so much charge that I find myself using the OTC ones the most, so I'll be switching to 100% AA Lithiums. I'm already using them about 75% of the time. The camera & charging stand won't recognize that you have a battery in, so all the lights on the stand won't funtion, but the camera itself will work just fine for taking pics.

<<I didn't know there were special batteries for the Easyshares. I have always used OTC AA batteries all these years.>>
Yes, there are special batteries that basically attach the 2 together in a case (so it looks like a square), the case creates a sensor that tells the charging station various things. Without the sensor, the charging station doesn't recognize the camera, but it doesn't matter, as long as you know it.
I even have a rapid charger unit for the real batteries, but most of the real batteries just don't function much anymore & the copies on AMZN had so many mixed results it wasn't worth it to keep buying them.

Val, my earned income will be very little since I am selling a lot less than I have in the past, but I would not think I would qualify due to social security. Does it get counted in the calculation?

Social Security is not considered income for the Earned Income Credit. The EIC is based on just that - EARNED income. As in W2 wages, Schedule C net profit, Schedule E net profit, etc.
