I just saw that and came over here to see if anyone else had noticed it. The increase isn't huge but it's a tone-deaf move with inflation being what it is. And it's. gonna put the squeeze on low-margin sellers. Can't wait to see the wonderful changes they'll roll out. UGH.

I know the jump from 5% to 6.5% isn't huge and I feel silly for grumbling but DANG Etsy and all their shenanigans gets under my skin like no other venue. DH suggested switching up venues for awhile- good thinking.

I've sold 10 items, some of which I thought I'd never get rid of.

I have a lot of vintage fabric all prepped to list- pix taken, measured & weighed. I WILL get it listed today- even if I have to 'close my eyes and think of the queen', lol!

As an Etsy buyer, what annoys me the manufactered crap on the site. A lot of it is not craft related - it's not handmade, nor used as base for another handmade product.

My last item I purchased there (two weeks ago) has turned out to be a mass manufactured item from some company in China.

I bought some lovely Liberty of London cotton squares from a UK seller last week. And I downloaded a PDF doll shoe pattern (yep, crazy doll lady conversion is almost complete, lol) from the designer.. Maybe it just depends on the category and item. As a maker, I'm unlikely to ever have zillions, hundreds or even 10 of one item available to sell in various colors. If it's a product that's scaleable (geez, I hate that word) someone's probably designed it and farmed out the making to a factory. OR the idea has been ripped-off by a mass manufacturer that's churning 'em out daily.
