You know, Pyrex does bring up a good point though. Maybe Angie should have the link to the AMZ wishlist handy, to hand out at the bake sales. Couldn't hurt.

Can you post the info here? I'd like to see the AHACS wish list and I'm sure so would others.

Stayed up til 2am watching Lost in Space episode (I really wish MeTV would put it back on at 11pm or midnight instead of 1am. It must be beginning of the series because Dr.Smith is plain evil. I prefer him as the scaredy-cat, wimpy Dr.Smith and the Robot having a better personality, too.
Woke up to yet more snow showers which are off and on all day. Only maybe a couple inches but jeez, Louise, I'd love to see green grass again. Emailed DH to be careful driving home. He'll have to climatize from 40s down to probably under 20 when he gets back.
I swear Yuppie BIL is the luckiest person I know. They left after having breakfast this morning to find he had a flat tire. Yeah, I know, that's not lucky. AAA came out to fill up the tire and the lucky part was not only was a Goodyear already open early on a Sunday, it was the only facility anywhere that was open on Sunday. DH emailed back to let me know they were waiting on repair so that will probably delay them at least an hour (or less, the way BIL drives like a speed demon and never gets pulled over for speeding, either).

When the Beagle rescue I got my pup from had a lot of puppies, they did a virtual "puppy shower" with an Amazon wishlist. People LOVED it. They sent collars, toys, dog food etc. I bet people would eat up the idea of a "kitten shower" as well. Just an idea I could be wrong, but I think the bake sales are to fund the flights to Seattle and elsewhere to place the kittens. Angie/AHACS does have a wish list on Amazon for supplies she needs. Ah, gotcha. The local rescue did the shower when they were inundated with 28 puppies at once! They are a small rescue that entirely relies on donations so that was a huge undertaking at once. They posted in their FB group they were having a shower for the puppies. We are so thankful to them for saving our sweet girl. She went from being dumped on the side of the road to a life of luxury. Yesterday we had to take her to the vet and she has a bladder infection. They got us some antibiotics and I sent DH to the store yesterday to get her a little roast beef to coax her to take the pills. He bought her $13/lb Boars Head from the deli! LMAO

I have five sports bras to return - hate buying the things, and when I find one I like, I get about six. Title Nine discontinued both my favourites, and the substitutes are ridiculous - they have these pads - why in gawd's name does someone need padding in a sports bra? Some are removable but some are not (and they change the fit). Most of the T9 dresses have pads too, I sell a bunch of them. I thought the pads were for chafing/hiding nipples, not enhancement, they're tiny pads so no one would get any real enhancement from them. I just figured they were a comfort thing, but hey I refuse to wear bras, so what do I know.

LMAOAs is right and proper! We went to the opera for the first time in over two years, since the pandemic closed it. The opera we attend is the smaller city opera south of us (Tacoma Opera) which I like better than the big fancy Seattle Opera - they're small, intimate and very good, and supported wholeheartedly by the community. It seems everyone knows each other. We saw a rarely performed opera, Prodigal Son by Debussy plus a presentation of the biblical song cycle by Dvorak and a dance performance of Afternoon of a Faun. It was unusual in that this was a mixture of the usual professional artists and student artists. It was like a big reunion - everyone was so HAPPY to be back in the theatre again, even if masked up for the audience (which was no problem for anyone - even some of the musicians stayed masked). The artistic director who periodically sings in the choruses in their operas was choking up as he was introducing the performance, and there was a lot of sniffing in the audience - they really had to strive to keep going during lockdowns. It was presented in a beautiful downtown church, which was a perfect setting for the biblical theme.

I placed an order at Belk on Friday for pickup at the store, since I was going up there anyway to return some items. They have a promo going on where if you buy online and pick store pickup, you're entered into a drawing for the purchase price of your sale given back to you in Belk gift cards. Even better, they round it up to the nearest $25. I won $75 when I picked up my order today. Good thing the stuff fit because I'd have felt really bad returning a sale that I basically got for free

A friend of mine was just telling me she won the prize from a Belk in Tennessee. She lives here but shops there when she is visiting her daughter since she is from South Carolina and loves Belk. She said they are giving away one per day at each location. Pretty nice promotion!
