Yay for Harley! Does he get to join the rest of the family this weekend? We are working up to that experience. Right now he is with Tanji in my bedroom. He is in Tanji's bed on the chair and Tanji is on my bed giving him the stink eye. The Missy family cats are such big jerks. I think they fear that the kittens might stay and they are quite content with the status quo as it is. It takes them a couple of days to come around especially since there have been no kittens around for several months now.

I'm happy for Harley doing so much better.
From what you said about the percentage of pregnant female cats, the Missy family will be getting a dose of kitten reality sooner than later.

I'm happy for Harley doing so much better. From what you said about the percentage of pregnant female cats, the Missy family will be getting a dose of kitten reality sooner than later. Angie said that nearly every female cat at this Wednesday's spay/neuter clinic was pregnant. Some were almost full term. We are hoping that the spay/neuter program in our small city will keep the kittens to a minimum. It seemed like we got a late start last year with kittens so we are keeping fingers crossed. Harley advanced to the foster bedroom with Terrell and Chanel this afternoon. They just sat on the cat tree and watched him. He needs a kitten to play with.

You want Simon and Toby to foster him?

You want Simon and Toby to foster him? I was kinda thinking about a smaller kitten not a pair of thuglets.

Hey now, Toby and Simon play together quite nicely, thank you very much. Even Trixie jumps in sometimes now.

Harley has been up for adoption about a week now and has had several interested people. Angie sent me an application for him today which is not a match. they have 4 kids from 9 to 17, one playful dog, and a cat.
Way too much action for Harley. He is a quiet soul and will need a quiet environment to adjust in a new home.

Harley is flying around here playing with his mouse and I can say for the first time that he is actually acting like a kitten. He is romping around with a mouse which I have never seen him do. A few minutes ago, he streaked across the living room with Murphy hot on his heels, jumped up onto the cat tree and started batting around one of the stuffed mice that hang off the tree. My work here is done. He is ready for adoption.

Angie just picked up Harley to meet his maybe new home. She will keep him until he gets neutered on Wednesday and then hopefully it is a match with this couple.

Harley was neutered yesterday and got all his kitten shots. His new family will pick him up on Friday. We have several more applications for him and have picked out a second chance offer if he doesn't like the Friday home.
Only 11 more days until Terrell's vet visit and hopefully the end of the pill popping.

Fingers and toes crossed for Harley and adding legs crossed for Terrell (and you) ending the pill popping ordeal.

We have just got to be done with this pill taking. Thank goodness Terrell is such a sweet natured and forgiving cat or this recovery time could have been more of a trial than it has been.
I am very handy at medicating cats but it would have been impossible without the pill popper and the fillable capsules. I hope I never have to give this medication to another cat.

Angie decided to spiff Harley up to go home with his new owners. Such a happy guy with his bow tie. Or not? Look at those ears. LOLOL

Harley looks a little goggle-eyed.
ETA: The DH once decorated his cats for my birthday. It was before we were married and I had come over to visit him, and the cats greeted me at the door with bright, curly ribbons around their collars - they looked quite festive!

If goggle-eyed means that he is seriously considering vengeance on the nearest person he can reach than he is goggle-eyed.
Those laid down ears mean an attack is imminent. That is not a happy cat.

Poor guy is royally pissed.
The bow tie was a step to far.

Yep, I think Harley has had just about enough of foster care.
Everything always works out OK when you send a pissed kitten off to their new home.

The first word that came to mind seeing that pic was Harley looks "deranged".

Yeah - I think the bow tie probably offends his sartorial tastes. I remember when we put a bell on Cassie the Tux in Trouble - she was used to clinking tags (which we used so she wouldn't be able to sneak up on birds so easily), but the bell was a bridge too far. She ricocheted around at warp speed trying to outrun that thing, the entire time her tail was fluffed to about three times its size. We thought she might get used to it, but no luck - she went to skulking around and jumping when she heard it jingle. We got rid of the little bell. Her fur-brained sister Jamie didn't care, she just jingled around the house with it on, to her sister's horror. Unfortunately, Jamie lost a collar about once a month climbing around in underbrush so she lost her bell. That was the end of all that.

Harley overall is just weird. I think it is because he was sick so long from the beginning that he missed out on kitten fun and human attachment. His first foster should have picked up on it right away. When I heard what was going on with him, I kept saying that he needs to see a vet but she didn't take him until he was at my house and I told her that if she doesn't take him, I was going to. Turned out he had a virus. Once he was on medication, he started gaining weight and eventually he was OK but he had missed out on social skills all the way around. This same foster decided that she would adopt Twila and then 2 weeks later changed her mind because she wants a black kitten.

Oh man, I understand Harley - I missed out on youth/kitten socialization, too, but because I had such a horrible home life rather than being ill - all the coping skills go to dealing with that (or in Harley's case, being sick) and one misses on the rest and then it's a lot of catching up. He'll need a patient, guiding example - it took me decades to catch up on the social skills I didn't have and I'm still not great at it, but hopefully Harley will have a faster time of it and become his true excellent self.

Harley's wild child sister, Twila, has finally come to her senses and is ready for adoption. She did have a bout with a dipshit foster/adopter for a time but has been here with us for several weeks now and is good to go. She and Terrell are on/again off/again buddies.

Terrell's looking well and I hope he's feeling that way, too. I just loved that clipped ear that I think gives him a certain pizzazz. Twila's a cutie pie. I hope they both find their furrever "Barney" homes.

We got the OK today to stop Terrell's medication. When I told him, he looked at me like "Talk is cheap, old woman. Get that pill popper and the extra filled capsules out of here and I might believe you."
He is really looking good too. Filled out so no bony butt anymore and his hair is thick and soft. It took a year to get him fixed but he is good to go.

Got pics today of my next 4 fosters. They just opened their eyes yesterday so should be here in about 4 weeks or so. I told Twila that she better start getting serious about being adopted or she will be babysitting these lil ones.
