Jes, I think one or more of the workers at your mother's facility are supplementing their income by selling used clothing. I agree. My mom lived in a senior facilty where her laundry was done for her and they didn't lose her stuff like Jes' mom place does. The sun went down and the temps are dropping. My "office" is the dining room and right by a large sliding glass door. Even with the vertical blinds closed, I can feel the cold. I think we're getting down to to 29 tonight. I know, not cold for some of you but it is a bit chilly for us. Fortunately it's just for one night so the power grid should be able to handle it Or so we hope. LOL.

When I was in a nursing home for my broken leg & shoulder, my roommate who had been there for over 10 years, only lost one shirt. Unfortunately, it was a fancy one that she had just ordered. She didn't send it to the laundry so it was obviously stolen.

We got another 2-3" of snow overnight, bah. It's only 11 degrees with windchill probably around 0 so it should be the light, fluffy stuff. I know it sounds bad, but actually, dressing warmly doesn't make it bad at all.
I appreciate squirrels all right- dead ones. If you had to deal with their destructiveness on your balcony for over TWELVE YEARS, I doubt you'd appreciate them:

Stay - the squirrels are a PITA around here too. They get into the pool house and rip stuff apart. They get into the shed and have fun with the mice to see who can do more damage. Mice eat through EVERYTHING, even plastic. They made a huge nest between stacked fabric patio chairs and ate holes in a few others. We can't leave beach towels in the pool house because they eat holes in those too, take the fabric for their nests. But that's in the winter for the mice, the squirrels are a year-round menace around here.
The squirrels were continuously sitting on shrubs near the bird feeder poles and contemplating how they are going to make it onto the feeders. We have a cylinder squirrel baffle on the feeder poles that they can't get past when they run up the pole - they end up inside underneath it, get confused and run back down. But damn, they are so crafty. I saw one "fly" from a shrub right onto one of the flat dish feeders. The regular hanging feeders are squirrel-buster types with a door that slams down when their weight is sensed on the feeder perches. But a very acrobatic one started jumping from a shrub, balancing himself up on the top of the feeder, then turning upside down to feast so his weight wouldn't close the feeder doors. This past fall we cut one shrub way back, seems to be working. I hate them too.

Maybe you could order custom fabric labels with her name printed on them and sew them to the outside of the clothing.

Jes, I think one or more of the workers at your mother's facility are supplementing their income by selling used clothing. You would think that but these pants were two pair of cheap (probably Walmart brand) knit casual pants that I got at the thrift store and one pair of black poly Blair pants they had given her when she was confused and her clothes were lost. I'm not sure you could give those clothes away lol. Once I started doing her laundry things stopped disappearing but I guess during the 5 days in isolation maybe another resident got into her stuff, I know many of them are confused. My sister said something about talking to the administrator to see if mom can come out of the lock down section now that her confusion is gone and it's just the memory issues. I guess we'll see. I do have a 1/2 off VV card for Sunday, hopefully I can find a couple of things then.
Cold and windy here this morning but the sun came out this afternoon and it has warmed to 49 so it could be worse

Jes look on the clearance racks at Kohls too. I bought all kinds of sweat pants and shirts and t shirts for mom there. Right off the big clearance sale racks.

For those of you that have ebay stores. Is anyone seeing other sellers listings on your own listing page? It's only if I click on a listing from my storefront, not when I click on my listing from Active listings or elsewhere. Does anyone know how to get these other sellers listings off my listing page? Again only if you look at one of your listings through your storefront, after clicking on a store category and going to an actual listing. Thanks.

My cousin, a mutual friend and I went hiking this morning in woods up north of my house - it was pretty strenuous, but our friend is incredibly experienced and set a great pace. We got a good workout for two hours, then went for coffee and a snack, then visited the nature preserve near my house. The rain cleared and we had some sunbursts which were really nice. We'll probably go a little farther afield next time just to see what's up - I said I'd be happy to do that.
We have a break in the rain coming up this week - it's our usual 'February break' come a little early this year, I guess.

Desire - if I log out and look at one of my listings it has competing listings and photos all over it - it's a cluttered mess. I don't see it in my own listings when I'm logged in.

Woke up to more of that white precipitation. Supposed to get 3-5" today and another 1-3" tomorrow. Temps single digits with windchill and going below 0 at night. The only good news, if you want to call it that, is it's the fluffy snow that brushes off and shovels a lot easier than the wetter, heavier stuff. Going over MIL's later to celebrate her 94th birthday. Friend sent me this video and I literally cry laughing every time I watch it. This is what happens when a cruise ship gets hit by a tropical storm. Not funny, but funny:

Fluffy, pretty snow. But staying in of course.
I did get my Yedi air Fryer yesterday but have been too sick to try it out. Now I ask...how can a person who hasn't left her house for 3 weeks get a stomach bug? The only human that I have encountered, was my Guardian Security guy a week ago. But we were both masked and were at least 15 feet apart.
On Thursday, I ate a normal, somewhat healthy meal as allowed by my chemo, but got rid of it at 1 am. Friday I slept most of the day and had to cancel my chemo appt. I was able to keep down some soup.
Today, soup and mashed potatoes made a quick exit from my body. So now I am cooking rice, although that is not allowed with my chemo...
Perhaps I should stop licking my mail since that is the only way that I might have gotten this.
But at least I am somewhat vertical for the better portion of today.
Will cancel my re-scheduled chemo for tomorrow.
And my gums are bleeding for no reason. And yesterday my skin smelled weird.
Am I human?

FFS, woke up with such severe plantars fasciitis I can barely walk today I haven't had issues with it for several years. Ugghhh. Seems like every time I start getting more active, I get hit with something else. It's just not fair I'm supposed to have jury duty (AGAIN) in a couple of weeks. Not sure I can walk around downtown. I have to look into how to do a medical exemption. I took one of the giant horse pill Ibuprofens & it as done nothing. I don't want to do a steroid shot, as it will make my blood sugar spike. I had noticed when I tried on the new shoes I got (see other thread) that my old ones were getting pretty worn, so I'm going to swap them out & hope that helps. But man, it went from nothing to can hardly walk in less than 24 hours. Just so frustrated!

Zoe, mine seems to be “in remission” for now. I hope you can kick PF in the butt. I lost a few pounds and stopped eating candy. I was on a candy kick for a while. Right now I am trying to ween myself off the Aleve I have been taking since last spring. Have not been out walking as a regular walk for a month but it had gone away before then. Hoping to get out walking this week if it is above 30.
Anyone have any home remedies for ear pressure issues? My one ear has been bothering me since warmer weather in December. I wear ear buds when I walk and I swear i got water in my ear. I can force air to fix the pressure but it goes back to an issue shortly thereafter.
Finally, I transmitted state and federal taxes. They begin accepting them tomorrow. Local tax site is not ready yet.

Thanks Emerald. Managed to keep in some rice and pudding and now trying mashed potatoes. Trying to figure out what did this in the first place...grilled cheese for lunch, or mac & cheese and roasted veggies for dinner. ridiculous.
(((Zoe))) I had those so often, but now I can walk since my feet are sore from chemo otherwise. So that has saved my heels.
We have had about 5 more inches of snow and the roads are bad again.

((Denise)) hope you're feeling better soon! Is there any chance you ate something that triggered this? With one food recall after another I wonder whether you got something that was tainted without realizing it. My grandma got e. coli from Meals on Wheels LONG TIME ago and it kicked her butt!
We had a gorgeous sunny day today so I spent the day mostly outdoors. First I washed the dye out of the fabrics I dyed yesterday- they're all lovely mottled shades of blue just like I wanted. Then because we're remodeling the greenhouse I had to shuffle stuff to make room. Finally I took on our invasive blackberries yet again and filled our yard debris can for tomorrows pickup. Just have one more thing to do tonight- it's my turn to cook so I'm making some easy pot pies with leftover turkey.
I don't understand how the Apple Watch counts movement cause it says I still haven't moved or stood enough today, lol. At least it counted what I was doing as exercise!

Thanks Retro...no idea-I had the above foods and also oatmeal & diced peaches for a snack. I guess maybe I should toss my other bag of carrots and my onions. And the oatmeal. But geesh....
I forget what a gorgeous day is anymore...
And what a game tonight-my daughter bet on Kelce for the TD and the Chiefs to win.... and she won $550! She just started to bet a few weeks ago and won $1,000 last week. In fact, she seldom watched football and just picks random names. She should play the lottery, too.

Retro! I checked my other bag of carrots and the ones that I had are Bolthouse. They had a salmonella recall for their carrot chips. I had whole carrots, but still..... And the onions that I also had were from a company, Bybee, that had a recall in the summer. So they might have been okay. WTH? I buy fresh stuff to be healthy....
Going to call Walmart tomorrow about the carrots.
Thanks!!!!!

((((Denise)))) labbypaws - try a Neti-Pot. Make sure you use distilled water with it. I just have the funky little Niel-Med (sp?) pot with the special salt packets. I have all kinds of sinus/ear canal problems because of where I live (sinus/ear problems are really common here) and it fixes everything. It's a super popular local remedy.

I can force air to fix the pressure but it goes back to an issue shortly thereafter. Labby - I frequently have ear pressure problems. Mostly when I come downstairs in early morning - as soon as I hit the first floor I feel a "block-up" in my ears, seems the left one is the worse. The heat situation here is that the first floor is always warmer than the second floor, as the heat is set lower upstairs. In the summer the AC on the second floor is set cooler than the first floor for summer sleeping. So there's always a big difference in the air here. Anyway, I use generic ZYRTEC for my ears and it clears up the blocked feeling in about 15 minutes. I also get extremely itchy/burning eyes if I get around dust or moldy leaves in the fall, etc. Outdoor fall cleanup is the worse. For that I use generic Claritin which does a good job, stops the stinging fast. The Walmart Equate brand or the Kirkland brand is OK for me on both of these meds. For some reason one of them can't do what the other one does for me and neither of them makes me sleepy.

I use the generic Zyrtec too. Keeps most of my allergies at bay, but I still have to use the neti pot occasionally. I can't take decongestants because of high BP. Once I figured out how to use the dern thing without drowning myself (thank you YouTube!!!) it's great!

Good luck everyone.
Desire-that is weird that you have different pressure levels in your house??
I talked to the Walmart mgr who was so nice. We went through what I ate and there are no specific recalls. But she is going to send me a gift card to make up for all of the food that I tossed out. I didn't even think of that.
I delayed my chemo until Friday and my chemo nurse asked a lot of questions about my illness and agreed that it sure sounds like food poisoning. So far I have managed to keep my chicken-noodle-rice soup inside my tummy. That works.
