Has anyone ever used the clear acrylic Tervis Tumblers for hot drinks? Can they handle hot coffee?

Speaking of USPS, I had a package shipped on the 6th from city in PA that just recently made it about 3 hours closer to Pittsburgh facility. 6 days to travel about 3 hours. Will see how much longer it takes to travel the approximate other 3 hours of the journey to get delivered. I have several other packages moseying through the system from other parts of the country. I guess the extra help for the holidays are gone.

If it were me I'd go with Yeti, they have mugs and other coffee options. I'm hooked on the Starbucks hot cups though.
I ordered some padded flat rate envelopes less than a week ago, I hope they get delivered. Might ask the post office custodian if there are any in the back. I asked once for a some kind of box, I forget which one it was and she was more than accommodating.
A big dental week this week. I wasn't planning on whitening my bottom teeth but when the dentist brought it up, it made sense. Top teeth are getting some love so it makes sense that the bottoms should too. Went in on Monday for Zoom whitening. Either I wasn't paying attention or no one told me that this whiting procedure can cause your teeth to be sensitive for up to 24 hours. Holy crap, I was in quite a bit of pain all night. I guess the whitening opens the pours on your teeth which can cause the sensitivity. Won't do that again and to make matters worse, there's quite a few foods that I can't have for several days. Coffee is on the list. Booo

I have a couple Yeti and some Ozark Trail that cost about 70% less. They work just as well. They work on hot and cold. I got rid of all my Tervis after I got the Yetis and Ozark Trails. Walmart has Ozark Trails.
From Tervis’ website in regards to their classic tumblers: The original double-walled insulated classic line is perfect for keeping your cold drinks cold and your hot drinks hot. With thousands of design options available, our BPA-free plastic insulated tumblers, water bottles and mugs make hydration and personal expression easy.

Thanks but Ozark Trail options are boring. I don't want metal or gray or silver or anything even close. Same with Yeti, plus they're double the price of Tervis. Guess I'll order one and see how it does. Tervis has some really cool prints.

When I bought my Ozark Trails, I bought red, orange, light blue, aqua, hot pink, and silver. I like to take them to the pool and for everyone to have their own color. It’s probably been 6 or 7 years, so maybe colors are no longer an option. Tervis are definitely more fun with many prints, but these keep my ice overnight, or several hours in the sun. Tervis just doesn’t compare.

Bobber is the best hot drink thermos anyone I know has used - this is taking hot tea up to ski areas. My cousin told me that hers kept her drink piping hot through an entire day on the slopes.

I was into Tervis Tumblers years back. Just not a fan, not sure why. It’s amazing to me how my ice won't melt all day in the Yeti with the cup sitting in my car cup holder when it’s 150 degrees in my car in August.

Was waiting for a package from Amazon that was supposed to be here on Jan 11 and then it said Jan 12. By 8PM last night it hadn't arrived so I logged into my Amazon account to see if it was on the way. It said it had been delivered at 1:30 PM to the "mailroom". Went out to check our mailbox, nothing there, had to call Amazon. I pay for Prime delivery.
Got a completely clueless rep who could not understand what a "mailroom" was. I tried to explain to her that private residences don't have mailrooms, only apartment complexes, office buildings, etc. have them. She spoke very broken English and when I asked her what the solution was, she couldn't answer except to issue me a credit. I told here I wanted the item, not a credit, and I wanted to know where this mailroom was. I asked her if they were talking about the local post office by any chance, to which she said maybe.
I asked to speak to a supervisor who was able to pull my house right up on google. I told her to look at the front porch where my packages are supposed to be dropped, because that's what I have on my delivery instructions. She saw that there was no "mailroom" here, and said that the post office was not involved in this transaction, it was an Amazon driver delivery. So they are resending this, should arrive today. She said they are having a LOT of problems with direct deliveries.

At least USPS is more competent and arrives during daylight hours most of the time.

Considering that we are talking about Amazon here, I imagine their refunds are a small percentage of their overall business costs or they would be changing the way they do business. I doubt that the USPS could handle all the Amazon packages that are processed everyday plus get them delivered as quickly as the Amazon delivery system does. Part of the draw of Amazon is their quick delivery which is not one of the selling points of the USPS system.
Competency within the USPS system varies just like it does within the Amazon delivery system or the FedEx delivery sustem. Mistakes are made by all of them.

I'm sitting in on several tax webinars today. *yawn* It's amazing how many accounting and tax professionals do not understand how internet commerce works. Oh well. On a brighter note, we finally hired some bookkeeping help and will be reassigning clients later this month. Hopefully we can move the very easy clients to our bookkeeper who has been with us for almost 10 years who ends up really doesn't understand bookkeeping and has to have written, detailed instructions on how to do anything and totally loses it if we ask her to do anything without the detailed instructions. I can't wait to actually work with a staff of bookkeepers who actually know what they are doing. Ruby & I decided to check remote hires first because the local bookkeeping pool was so small. It paid off. Today will be a Kritter kind of day - 70 degrees today and tomorrow, then back to chilly for a week.

When Amazon delivers here and it shows "delivered", it shows location as well as a pic attached so I know at a glance if it's downstairs under the mailboxes or outside apartment door (they get extra kudos for climbing the stairs).
Today is another "heat wave" high 42 and sunny/partial sun. I think I'll go out for a bit and take advantage before the temps dip back in 20s and low 30s. At least we don't have to deal with wasps, bees or ants for another couple months.

I live in a house too and have had weird things like that on my Amazon deliveries. And I hate it when they say we'll give you a credit. I ordered the item because I wanted it.
It's LOVELY here today, sunny and mild and 70 degrees. It was great to get out on my bike and run errands. It's supposed to be really nice tomorrow, too, then colder again over the weekend. Maybe we'll get a hard freeze soon and if I'm lucky it will kill the fire ants!

They just disappeared after that. What was weird is that the hub it was supposed to deliver from is south of town (like 25 miles from here) instead of the 'north lake' one that serves us up here in the north county. I wanted the products, too, rather than a refund, so I'll have to re-order them. It appears that I'm not the only one having problems! If I could purchase them locally, I would, but they're speciality items.

The DH had oral surgery this morning and is walking around wearing his cloth mask with an ice pack stuffed into it - works great, apparently, and eating ibuprofen.
He's bummed, though, since the rain stopped and we even have some sun, but he can't go riding - he's at work now in the computer room at the back of the house with his ice pack and bottle of ibuprofen. I'm trying to motivate myself to list, but I'm hating this job more every day. Other job search efforts haven't panned out, yet.

Chap, hating which job? Online selling? Yes - I'm really burnt out on it - tired of the mess, tired of it being harder and harder to find stuff to resell (it's usually great pickings about now but not so much these days). It was OK when I was earning plenty of money doing it, but the pandemic has kind of put paid to that. I'll sell some house stuff and anything I might come across junking around, but I'm kinda of done with most clothing.

I know around here, the kids have boxes all over the college where they can put stuff they don’t want and other kids can take what they want. I think this “recycling” clothes may be having an effect on donations. Not sure…

Another sunny warm day on tap here (74), then the cold front moves in overnight and we're back to chilly for a few days. I bet I know where Kritter will be today! I need to so some outdoor things myself on the patio so I think I'll flip today's schedule with Sunday and be outside today, inside Sunday Lately when I've done searches online, I get flipped over to Bing search, which sucks. Anyone have any idea why or what I might be doing to result in me being on Bing search?
