I'd forgotten, but printed a label with Monday's date instead of tmw's & it was .20 cents more. I hit enter too fast & wound up paying it. Oops.
Oh well, come monday it won't matter.

First class to west coast is now $7.65! I use a flat rate to make it easier on myself when listing, and I'm thinking I need to move away from that, but it would be a lot of work to change existing listings so may just do it on a go forward. New prices: pe.usps.com/cpim/ftp/manuals/dmm300/Notice123.pdf?_gl=1*1ystq7t*_ga*ZmFsc2U.*_ga_3NXP3C8S9V*MTY0MTc0ODA1NC4xMTMuMS4xNjQxNzQ4MzYyLjA. OK, that's a link to all the prices, and it brings you up to different places on the page depending on where you last looked at it. It was giving me fits testing the link as it was taking me different places and it took several tries to figure it out haha. You should be able to scroll up or down the page to find the various prices. The footnotes at the bottom of the first class pricing (page 7)--is that new? I don't know that I've ever been concerned about the size of the box for something that weighs less than a pound, but according to the footnotes, we need to be aware there is a huge premium if it's a lightweight but sizable item.

Dimensional weight pricing has always kicked in if the item is oversized, regardless of the weight or shipping choice. Or that's always been my understanding.

So glad I got away from selling briefcases and handbags. Shipping a 6 pound box coast to coast in a 16X14X6 Box....

That is true.
