This is our busy time at work. A ton of walking. I was in bad shape when I got home last night but my legs finally let the Motrin PM kick in about 4 AM.
Today I slid on the mud at work. Waiting to see if that affects me or not. If so I will fill out the paperwork. I didn’t fall on my behind but I was twisting every which way to prevent a fall.
Tomorrow I will be inside so I get a break.

That absolutely must be uplifting for people! Take care, labbypaws! My running friend and I have crash-landed more than a few times from tripping over root rises and what a way to feel beat up all over! Not to mention feeling really dumb (because, unlike slipping on the mud which can happen to anyone, falling on our faces meant we weren't watching where we were going). I took me and my swollen armpit to Orange Theory this evening - they have a new coach and manager who is awesome and I had a great workout. I noticed that after doing a lot of upper body work my armpit still hurt, but the swelling was better, so maybe I worked something out of there. I've never had a reaction like this before to anything. Last night I couldn't even lay the arm straight down next to my body. I still can't, but it's better. Val - I hope you win - your decorations sound awesome, especially that reflecting lighting. Any chance of photos?

Good luck Val! Good luck Jes! So much to go through...
Labby-hope that you didn't hurt anything. About 7 years ago, I tripped on my carpet (me not picking my feet up enough?), struggled not to fall and instead tore my miniscus.
Chap-my DD had the same armpit lymph node problem after each of the Covid shots and booster.

So did you win Val? Not much going on today, decided to take a drive to the Scottsdale Saver's but they don't open until 10. Wish they'd go back to opening at 9 like they used to. At this point I don't think they ever will. Decided to make Olive Garden copycat Pasta e Fagioli soup in the instant pot Christmas day so stopped by little wm to get stuff for that. Think I'm set now.

Woo hoo! My patio won third place, $50 HEB gift card! I'll have to wander out this evening and see who won first and second place. The office usually sends out an email to everyone announcing the winners, after they call the winners. Since I'm headed to HEB later today, I'll swing by before the office before it closes, then put my gift card to good use Personally, I think it was the red & green lights shining down on the downstairs and sidewalk that did it. chapeaunoir, I had the lymph node arm swelling with my second shot. Get a bag of frozen peas and put it under your arm (or two bags, one under each arm LOL) . They're easy to hold in place for basic stuff that doesn't require lifting your arms up (working on the computer, cooking, watching TV etc) and it really helps. A bag of frozen corn works OK too.

Just checked on my Chewy order and FedEx moved delivery to tomorrow instead of today. That actually works better. I opted to have it sent to my apartment instead of my box, so now I don't have to sit around today waiting on delivery. I'll be home all day tomorrow so waiting on a package won't be a big deal. Even if it doesn't come in tomorrow, the cats will still like it when it does get here. I hope. You never know about cats+toys. Perfect example - I gave them two new toys today, they turned their collective noses up at one but they like the other. I suppose a 50% success rate isn't all that bad...

Congrats, Val! I'd like to see pics of the other 2 winners, if you can find them. I'm sure you would have won if they'd been able to see the full splurge you did on your balcony. Still, $50 gift card is pretty nice.

Congrats val2525!! ((( labbypaws))) Hope you're doing well. Two weeks ago my danged dog got me all tangled up in his leash and tripped me. Went down hard and the way I landed seriously bruised my ribs on the left side. I'm just starting to feel better. Just glad nothing broke! ((( chapeaunoir))) Hope you feel better soon.

None the worse for wear today. Not walking on the grass at work anymore.
Got out walking today. Cold but doable. Got some silk glove liners so I can get my winter gloves back on more easily.

Glad to hear that, labbypaws - you're so active that I figured you'd probably got the moves down! Looking at the Microsoft forecast in the taskbar on my laptop, it says "39 degrees and Flood" I worked out at OTF again this evening - the district manager was coaching the class (!) - the coaches are good but OMG, he was an order of magnitude better - I guess that's why he's district manager. At any rate I can almost completely fold my arm down by my side now. I've definitely heard of this happening to others, but it was so odd to have it come up two days after the booster, and then last this long. Weird. Tomorrow we're going to Tahoma Veterans Cemetery to visit family buried there - we like to do that every year around this time.

Merry Christmas everyone. We are having our dinner today and will enjoy the leftovers tomorrow. Was able to get a garlic studded rib roast.
We just did a 4.5 mile walk. A lot of dog walkers out today. Great weather here near Philly.
We did not buy gifts for each other since he built a new computer and I bought one. That was enough for this year.

We're having rib roast, too. I'm going to make homemade mashed potatoes to go with it for dinner. DH and I open our gifts tonight. Nothing going on tomorrow because Yuppies are coming up Sunday to celebrate.
Great weather here, too, around 50 and 57 and rain tomorrow. Rare to have a "green" Christmas. No complaints.

Tonight it's a premade meal from HEB, one of my favorites (beef tips with southwest seasoning and fresh green beans). Tomorrow it's cornish hen in the air fryer, southwest style green bean casserole, cauliflower cranberry stuffing (have no idea what this will taste like, it's from Whole Foods) and fruit ambrosia salad which doubles as a really good desert (gotta have one comfort food from family Christmases!). I need to swing by HEB today though and pick up an ingredient for the green beans. I thought I already had it at home but ends up the jar I had in the pantry had expired. HEB was sampling the recipe yesterday, it's really good. It's actually a recipe for southwest corn casserole but it should be equally good as green bean casserole, since I'm not crazy about corn. I bet it would be good with cauliflower too. There was a lady in HEB yesterday who had a gorgeous crown roast in her cart, I don't think I've ever seen one before. OK, so it was raw and not all that appetizing but once it's cooked it will be awesome looking.

Decided to make Olive Garden copycat Pasta e Fagioli soup in the instant pot Christmas day so stopped by little wm to get stuff for that. Think I'm set now. Dh makes a fabulous copycat with Crumbles instead of meat & it's soooooo good! He makes a huge pot & then we freeze half of it to eat another time. Easy & yummy!

I have no idea what will happen tomorrow. DD insists on making the whole meal and won't let me make anything and she will bring leftovers. Will include ham. I won't go to her house since DD's guy friend won't get the vaccine.
Jaxson's idiot father hasn't had him since Sept and also hasn't called him for the last 3 days. Troy is supposed to call Jaxson between 7 & 8, but hasn't. Jaxson called him one day after his basketball game that ended at 8, but Troy didn't pick up.
So DD will be making an early dinner, then take Jax to the state police station at 3 to drop him off with Troy....IF Troy shows up.
Hopefully I will get to see them tomorrow sometime.

It appears the entire hospital bill from my stay back in June was denied by the insurance company. Insurance company says no preauthorization was requested. To say I am livid is an understatement. I made copies of everything and emailed it to our insuance agent, hopefully she can give me some insite next week as to what to do. It would not surprise me at all if the hospital did not get the preauthorization, they screwed up so much while I was there, why not screw up the billing too? This should be interesting. I'm fully prepared to get a lawyer and fight the bill (all $95,193 of it) if it ends up the hospital was responsibile for obtaining preauthorization, or used the wrong billing code when submitting the bill (ie., in-patient stays that originated from an ER visit often do not need preauthorization). Nothing I can do until next week, so I'm not going to worry about it over Christmas. I do know one thing - I will never go to that hospital again. Meanwhile..now that I've let off steam LOL - I think it's time to fix dinner and then binge watch either more Castle episodes or find some sappy Christmas movies I haven't watched yet. Or maybe rewatch some favorite Christmas movies.

Yikes, I don't blame you for being livid. That is quite a massive screw up to be sure.
What a jolt to get on Christmas Eve. Hopefully your agent can get it sorted out before lawyers come into play.

Worst case, I file for bankruptcy (I bookmarked several SA bankrupcty attorneys this evening). I'm hoping it was the hospital's responsibility to get preauthorization, not mine, since this was emergency care. But enough. The kitties' Christmas gift came on time this afternoon and I think I'm going to open it tonight and see if they like it or not. They'll still have tons of gifts to open tomorrow. I also need to clean the oven tonight. I'm trying this:

I was just looking at NORAD's Santa Tracker. Kids are so tech savvy so young these days that I think NORAD needs to make the tracker look more techie, like doppler radar maybe, and less hokey. PS he's over Chile right now in case anyone is interested
