Crap keeps happening with GPS sales I thought that once packages were delivered to Kentucky we were good and if something happened with the package after that (lost or whatever) then we were not on the hook for it? Sent something on 11/26 and buyer opened an INR case today which was closed in their favor and the message said the funds would be recovered from me by Ebay. Anyone know? Tracking is below... As far as I know, on INR you are only responsible for getting it to the GSP center in KY. Unless they changed something.

That is what I thought but this it was the message said. I haven't seen a 2nd message with more details.
We reviewed this case and decided to issue the buyer a full refund.
There was a problem with the item and it couldn't be sent to the buyer. We sent you a separate email with more details.
A refund of US $35.19 was issued on Dec 8, 2021 to the buyer. The refund includes the purchase price plus original shipping.
The refund amount will be recovered from you by eBay.

They changed GSP a while ago, and I think you are responsible for it no matter what. I left GSP because of it.

Hopefully the package will come back to me so that I can at least relist it.

I got some answers from the buyer. They sent a message in addition to opening up the case to I replied letting them know that it mailed as promised and I wasn't the cause of it. This is their reply. I know, it’s not your fault. You did everything you could. However, the eBay msg is saying that the item was restricted by customs.. which is odd. Perhaps you may get more information on your end. I’d still really like to purchase the pony from you as it hold significant sentimental value to me
Thanks, keep in touch.

Sounds to me like it might have been classified as something that isn't allowed to be shipped into their country? Maybe it was coded wrong on the customs form?

I think that is the only thing that makes sense. If so it was a gsp mess up so not sure why I’m having to pay for it.

Tracking said it cleared customs so I don't think it can be something that can't be shipped to Canada. It says the package "was scanned by the wrong driver" so it appears that the problem is with the Canadian delivery service. I would call eBay too. There must be someone to talk to that makes this the GSP's problem as they choose the Canadian shipper on that leg. Please keep us apprised.

I'd call Canada Post and ask them what's up. It's possible the buyer refused the package due to customs fees.

Somany is right. That is not the case any more. Many posts on the Ebay boards about it.

The buyer didn't refuse the package. They sent a message saying that they still wanted it. Hopefully it'll come back and I can relist it. Plus I think there were would be some kind of reference to that in the tracking.

I get a lot of GSP sales so for me the risk is worth it. One in hundreds isn't a big deal to me. If it keeps happening then I'll reconsider.

Yeah, I still prefer GSP too & most of them go through fine. I did have to stop at one point last year, when things were sitting at the center in KY for a month before being sent out, but now that things are back to more or less normal, I haven't had problems. It's worth it to me b/c it's less stress. I stress over Int'l tx's & GSP removes that stress for me.

To me shipping internationally was so easy and I had done it for so long (since 1999), that the only thing GSP would have done for me is take that risk out after delivery to the Kentucky facility. Now that that is gone, if I start up international again I'll just do it the old fashioned way. I just depends on what one likes to do. Most of my stuff is so cheap I just don't really worry about it, I guess.
ETA: If I shipped higher dollar stuff I might revisit the program.
