I plan to list a lot which will have to be shipped in two boxes. I'll have enough of a challenge figuring out the shipping charge, but the second question is how do I list two tracking numbers for one eBay item? Thanks.

It has been a LONG time since I've done this, but when I had to ship in two boxes, there was actually the capability of adding a second tracking number on the same order. Maybe someone here can verify if that is still the case?

I tried it recently with a combined order that ended up shipping in two boxes. EBay wouldn't let me add both of them.

You can still enter multiple tracking for a single shipment. Once you've added the first one, you just click edit under the first one and there is an option to add additional tracking.

Thanks. What's the best way to estimate the shipping and list it with the eBay shipping calculator?

I would enter it with the entire amount - you can distribute it over the two boxes when you pack.

I can do that, but I'm sure it will cost more in two packages. I'll just have to add a hefty "handling" charge.

I would just do a flat rate, that would cover the whole thing, to the farthest zip code from me & leave it at that. If you're feeling generous, if someone closer buys it, you an discount or refund them the excess S&H.

You could add a blurb that says to contact you with their zip code for the exact shipping cost and adjust the listing if someone commits to purchase. I'd change the title to specify them as the buyer and give them a day to purchase before reverting it back to the original listing if they don't follow through.

That's another good idea. Thanks.

That package is hilarious. Must have cost a fortune to ship, if USPS would even accept it.

They won't - flat rate boxes can't be used for anything other than flat rate shipping. I once made a frankenpackage like that, though, to be able to squeeze it onto the flight from Melbourne, Australia to LAX.
