Sachertorte Day
I had to look up what a Sachertorte is.
Sachertorte is a chocolate cake, or torte of Austrian origin, invented by Franz Sacher, supposedly in 1832 for Prince Metternich in Vienna. It is one of the most famous Viennese culinary specialties. Wikipedia
Main ingredients: Chocolate sponge cake, apricot jam, dark chocolate icing

Well, the chances of cats being suddenly abandoned in our yard are 0 to none, but we don't want to just rush out. Keeping our eyes open for our new emissaries does involve looking in at adoption places and just generally being available (Jamie and Cassie were rescues, for instance, that the DH wasn't looking for, but they were looking for him). When we see those cats, we'll know it, wherever they happen to be. I agree with this, the right one will find you. After we lost Coco it took 3 years before we got Janey. And I was looking online at dogs available (BARC, etc) occasionally and we had talked about going to a no kill shelter that's not too far and just looking. And then one day a friend (I'm using that loosely, our sons went to school together and are still friends but we don't talk much anymore) texted me her boyfriend was getting rid of a litter and they had one left, the "runt" a girl about 6 mos old if we wanted to meet her. And she turned out to be exactly perfect for us.
Wow, Val, I live in the city proper too and have never seen a deer ever. In fact that might freak me out a bit.
Labby, I hope you pups are ok.
Well guys I found my box! And there was actually a lot more stuff in it than I realized, including our Christmas stockings! Apparently last year I decided some stuff was better off in my closet than the attic so I boxed it up. It so happened I put it on top of another box in my closet that was the same width and length but taller, so it all looked like one box. It took until about the 7th time of looking that I figured it out.
We had a nice visit with Mom, we called her sister and they had a really nice chat. They hadn't talked since the summer and mom was having severe confusion then and my aunt was very surprised at how much better she's been and so that was good.

Foggy this morning - could barely see the road. It's lifted a bit and the marine layer burned off a bit so there's a little watery sunshine - people and dogs are roaming around in the road looking a little shocked lol. The DH took the break in the rain to get up onto the roof and clean it - I'll help with the bags of gribble as they're handed down. Cold, though - dropping to freezing at night (cold for here, that is). We may get snow mixed with the rain this week. That's fine except that it freezes at night and the whole area turns into a danged skating rink. Fortunately, our own hilly little city gets out with the de-icer quickly and at least tackles the main roads. The municipality next to us doesn't - I can see the town border from my front window and I see cars sliding down the steep hill to our crossroads. Every once in a while one falls into the neighbour's yard.

It's 77 right now with 70% humidity. There are mosquitoes on my patio. It was 80 yesterday. It's also the 5th of December.
THis weather sucks.
No, I'm not kidding or being sarcastic. If I want humidity and 80 degrees in December, I'll move back to Florida where at least I'll have beaches, fresh seafood and palm trees decorated with twinkle lights.

This weather works for me. Got 5 trash cans of bougainvillea cut branches out for trash pickup tomorrow. Was going to hang my lights on the cat pen but ran out of daylight.
Shorts and sandals on 12/5. Doesn't get any better.

I would be ecstatic to have temp and humidity like that this time of year. It's currently 50 and will drop to 30 tomorrow and in the 20s overnight. Trade ya.

Had such a gorgeous week in the 60's & 70's, even broke a couple of records. But cold front just moved in & possible snow tmw :-(. Still, will take it over MN any day. Always another sunny day around the corner :-)

Anyone see the pornography on the eBay Fashion Board this AM? I reported the post and messaged eBay for business and it was finally removed hours later.

Nope. I still remember the infamous "teapot reflection" and an old fart selling an antique ceiling fan in the nude years ago.
What was the porno about this morning?

Well the preview photos were of various parts of the male anatomy with various acts being done on it. And of course the preview photos were telling. When opened to report it there were numerous photos that I did not look at.

The Amazon driver threw my box of 9 bottles of Maple Grove Farms salad dressing on our steps this afternoon. Just got home to unpack the bottles and found glass shards and salad dressing at the bottom of the box. Amazon refunded me but I had to use the chat because they were non-returnable. I was able to salvage all but one of the 9 bottles.

I'm sorry that happened to you, labbypaws. It's a shame too many people have jobs they don't care about how they perform them or how it affects others.

You can talk to a live Amazon person at this number 1 -888-280-4331
If you are using the phone associated with your Amazon account an automated voice will ask you if you are calling about the last item you ordered and name it to you. You can answer yes or no, or ask for a customer service rep and they will transfer your call to a live person. Just called them last week.

There was something to report a problem with the delivery and that was how I did the refund.
