Hope you are hanging in there Chap with all that rain. We are no strangers to excessive rain and flooding and I know full well how dangerous and devastating it can be. This fall has been drier and warmer than normal and they say its the La Nina. Perhaps that's what's causing all the rain in the Northwest? I like it cool for the holidays but I'll take a pass if it means excessive rain. Or another winter storm, ugh!
Well I will be taking my turkey out to put in the fridge tomorrow. I got a Butterball at Aldi's for .87 a lb but they only had big ones so I had to get 18.5 lbs. But with shortages this year I feel lucky to have found one and at a good price, too. Kroger is giving away free turkeys if you spend over $125 and I'm sure I will. So if they have any left when I go tomorrow I guess maybe I'll put it up for Easter. I've never regretted buying the deep freezer lol. The last few years we've been getting a Honey Baked ham for Christmas but I'm scared to even look at the prices this year!! It may end up being another turkey for Christmas lol. But that's just more cooking for me, whereas the ham is not.
It looks like VV will do their Black Friday again this year, they said on FB that VIP's should look for a 1/2 off announcement soon. I'm excited, since they've changed their frequent shopper program it's really hit my bottom dollar. I guess I got spoiled iwth the 1/2 off cards I would earn, and now I have sticker shock. And you can earn 1/2 off by spending $35 or more between now and Christmas (good for the last week in Dec) so that's a breeze. And buying $35 in gift cards, good for the month of January, which I buy and just use myself 
Denise, thank you for the suggestion of using plastic utensils. Unfortunately it didn't seem to make any difference (maybe because I am having a "salty taste" day today). But anything is worth a try, you never know what might help.

I wouldn't mind making a turkey next week but they're all so high in sodium (from the brining I guess). Not as bad as the ham (LOL) but still too high considering how small one serving would be. HEB makes these individual dinner selections that you pop in the oven and many are fairly healthy, low to moderate in sodium, and all are quite tasty. I had the jalapeno cream cheese stuffed chicken breast with mushrooms earlier this week for the first time. YUM. I'm going to see if I can score another one for Thanksgiving, and maybe add some green beans roasted in the air fryer. All else fails, I can always get cornish game hen. They're lower in sodium that the turkey is and easy to cook in a crock pot. For my birthday "weekend", I'm making a pork roast in the crock pot. I just have to decide between raspberry chipotle sauce or charred peach bourbon sauce. Life is tough some days LOL   |

Cut it in half, make one sauce tomorrow and the other the next day. Problem solved.

I saw that one today for the first time and almost got it but got my usual Parmesan Chicken Breast instead.
Wore jeans today for the first time since last April and they still fit. I always hold my breath because ya just never know after that long a time. No sandals today either. Looked through my winter clothes and I am set for this year. I wear them for so short of time that they will probably still be good for many more years.
I am not a fashionista...jeans and cat sweatshirts get me through the winter. |

My summer clothes are like that - our summers are usually so short that they last me for years. I have one top that I got in the late-80s that I still wear.

I never ever buy/wear sweaters but found a few super cheap ones at Marshalls and Ross when I went to the mall. They have twisted backs, I'm drawn things on top that have unique features. Wore them a few times and ended up all sweaty. Hopefully they'll still be wearable after they're washed.

Just saw off the DH on his Sunday ride, into the cold fog. He's all bundled up. I'm staying in the warm house as I had back to back workouts at Orangetheory and need a rest. Perfect day for catching up on all those inventory repair chores (buttons replaced/resewn, seams fixed, etc.) - a lot of little stuff. And listening to an audiobook.

Wow! Those are cool! That might solve problems we have with putting up lights (outlets in wrong places). Solar does work up here and is pretty popular, but they're the big house panels - I wonder if we get enough light to power a small ground-level panel? I like the veil idea. Right now I just decorate our walkway light and it would be nice to have something more.

I read the reviews and it seem like it doesn't take much light to at least get enough charge for several hours.
I have two outlets on my garage but it is on the opposite side of the property from where I want to put lights. Plus the security lights all come on when I turn on the switch for those outlets so the little lights wouldn't show up.
These will be perfect. I will probably end up with lights all over my backyard before this is over.
