I have to mail a personal pkg, it will be a small flat bubble envelope that will only way a few ozs, but will not be able to be machine-able. What mailing type do I use for that? Is it a pkg? Mainly I'm wondering if I should just print the label at home via PP, as a "package" or if there's some other category that will save me money if I go do it in person at the PO? Pantlandia Jeremy, I think you ship these often, so you may know?

Should be a package, I believe.

Pretty sure you'll need to ship first class package - it won't be machinable and doesn't qualify as a flat (a little too thick, I think that's 1/4").

Pantlandia Jeremy, I think you ship these often, so you may know? If it's less than 1/4" thick, then not a package, just a normal first class letter. There is a 30 cent surcharge to make it non-machinable. I don't know if you can print it from home or not. I use Stamps.com but they had to put me in a special package to be able to print stamp postage for eBay. You should be able to take it in to the post office and say first class letter non-machinable. It should only be $2.00 at the most, probably closer to $1.50. ETA: I didn't see the bubble envelope part. That will most likely be too thick. Can you just put it in a flat and maybe put a thin piece of cardboard in with it? Otherwise, I'd send it package and you'll have tracking on it too.

Thanks Pantlandia that's helpful. I'll just do it as a pkg. It's cheap enough & easier. Just going to my mom so tracking not required, but it won't hurt. Ughh, though I just realized I may not have a PP balance. Maybe I'll go to the PO after all. Still helpful to know! Thanks!

If you have no balance in your Paypal account but still have a back-up credit card on file, you can charge it to the card instead of them taking it out of your attached checking account. I still have my checking and cc attached from when we did all our sales through Paypal. I ship a lot of personal packages to my family and use the Paypal Ship-Now quite often. They do still give the shipping discount.

It did turn out to be a pkg, b/c once I added more packing it was well over 1/4" thick. It wound up costing approx. $3.50 for this tiny little pkg. Oh well. Thanks Desire I know that & that's what I did, but I don't like to do it b/c it's more of a headache with my accounting. That said, it turned out to be a good thing b/c when I went to check my PP balance, I saw a whole bunch of tx's had occurred, all of which wound up going to my backup CC, which is going to be an accounting hassle. Turns out that somehow & I have not yet determined how, my Shipping Labels were changed over to PP, rather than out of my proceeds & it's been that way for a MONTH! I hadn't yet balanced the credit card statement, so didn't know it. What a huge hassle! It's esp suspicious b/c it started the day I requested a label to be voided. So I wonder if it changed b/c of that? I don't think *I* changed it & I am not happy that it was changed & I have a month's worth of tx's that didn't come out of my proceeds.
