I doped up Gunner hoping I can cut his nails today. Did his back ones but he does not cooperate with the front ones. Walking hasn’t helped. His dew claws are bad. If this doesn’t work I will have to take him to the vet to get knocked out. He is so controlling. I can do my other 5 dogs just not him. LOL, there's a "problem child" in every family.

I've discovered holiday-decorated pillow covers. Where have these things been all my adult life? I found some snowflake pillow covers that fit my existing pillows so I can decorate for Christmas, then remove the covers and go back to the usual pillow. Cool. Since I can't put up a tree thanks to the cats, everything else in the apartment gets decorated instead

Glad I didn't buy any Halloween candy, it's such a NASTY day! Worst day of the season so far, heavy fog, below freezing, windy, can't see my front yard. Yesterday was 69 & sunny & no wind LOL. ETA: I did paint my nails alternating orange & black, with 2 candy corn nails & when I oops'd some white onto an orange nail, I turned it into a little ghost LOL. None of the lines are straight, but I was pretty damn impressed with myself LOL

I don't know if kids will trick or treat here in the complex tonight or not. I'm inclined to think not, that they'll go to the nearby neighborhoods instead because I don't see parents climbing two flights of stairs in multiple buildings when there is a really nice subdivision next door.

Noel is my last name. I always joke Christmas is when we get customized stuff at no extra charge and see our name in lights all over. Years ago before the branches grew and the tree rats started invading our balcony, we used to put a white sign with "Noel" in red lights in front of our balcony. I came home from work one day to find a bulb burned out and we were now "Nool". We referred to ourselves as the Nools that year. Just what you need..... www.kohls.com/product/prd-5108473/st-nicholas-square-beach-noel-christmas-table-decor.jsp?prdPV=45

I got 4 of his front nails. No dew claws and still need to get the other front paw. Walking and his biting his nails keeps the other nails down a bit but the dew claws are a pain. I think the reason he fights is because he bits his nails such that the quicks hang out. Ugh.

My neighborhood is slammed with kids being brought in from other areas. There are cars and trucks parked on both sides of the street on at least the four streets down from mine too. Total flustercluck getting anywhere.
I was coming home from the bake sale with the kittens and didn't realize the traffic issue until I was already on the street and had nowhere to go. Some people were just parking in the only available open lane and letting the kids jump out and run up to doors. Nevermind all the dodging the foot traffic when it did open up.
Then I see on NextDoor where people are saying that no kids are coming to their neighborhood. That is because they are all here.
Yes, I am just a scrooge.

DH said there were lots of kids in our neighborhood. Fortunately, the houses, townhouses and condos got them. We don't get them because there are locks on the main doors at the apartments and even if some got in, they don't like to climb stairs. Back when I was a kid there were only a couple developments and it got so bad, police cars were at the entrances to make sure kids weren't dropped off.
Val, I love that beach sign and tempted to buy one so I can dream about hopefully one day spending Christmas (and every other day) at the beach.

We have very few street lamps where I live and so it's pitch black in places where there are no houses. Trick or treating isn't done that much because of the narrow roads, but some parents walk with their kids up and down the roads and then the kids knock on the doors, with the parents standing a bit away down the walkway or path. It's cute - the kids want to trick or treat by themselves. The parents wave and grin. They usually just go to several houses close by. Oftentimes it's raining and windy but today was clear (we're all trying to dry off) and it's a nice night, but frost is forming.

We stopped doing Halloween years ago. 6 dogs. I am usually working. Street has no street lights. We live down a steep hill.
Bought $60 in KitKats (full size) one year and no kids showed. Gave out 5 or 6 bars that year.
No more. Lights out, dogs in Lower level with hubby.

When my girls were young, we did get a lot of Halloweeners. Now that all of the kids have grown up and moved, I haven't had any Halloweeners for many years. My road is dark and dangerous, which it was back then.
Only my grandson came and as my daughter suggested, I gave him Gatorade, diced pear snack cups, and a stuffed hyena. I added $$, bags of chips and rice cakes and some candy thing. A totally weird combo and he was the most excited about the diced pears??? Weird child.

We had one group of 3 kids last night. Tons of candy left over. We’ve been here for four years. No kids last year due to Covid, 25 in 2019, and maybe a dozen in 2018. Most houses around us leave their lights off and don’t decorate. We put up some decorations and do leave the porch light on. You just never know if the kids will show up or not.
