I renewed my DL online this year. I swear they made a photocopy of my old license because the picture is so grainy and blurry. It's covered with holograms anyway.
Took my niece out for driving practice today- around & around a big parking lot. She hadn't had her license for very long before Covid stopped everything so she's completely lost her confidence. Gonna take a few sessions before I'd want her actually on the road but she'll get there eventually. She really needs to drive to get a better job- here in Portland our mass transit sucks in the 'burbs.

Almost through Hell Week with four workouts in the last five days. Less than six months ago when I started I struggled with two workouts in 7 days, so I've definitely gotten stronger. One more workout (Saturday) and I earn my T-shirt. <--- I feel like this lol.

Isabella has failed twice now on her driving test She is too focused on the road in front and forgets to check her mirrors and other minor stuff, but it all adds up to her failing overall. In the city, Tri-Met and Max are pretty good, but yeah, no so much outside the city proper.

The craziest driver license photo I ever saw was in Pennsylvania. A friend's had 1/2 of her face. It was blank on the other side. She said she'd just have to remember which side of her face to cover up if she was ever stopped by highway patrol. But she refused to go back and go through the process again.

She said she'd just have to remember which side of her face to cover up if she was ever stopped by highway patrol. But she refused to go back and go through the process again. I'm really surprised that license was allowed to go through and she didn't have to go back or want to in case she gets stopped or has to show ID that's sure not going to look valid and wind up with with more trouble than it's worth to go back and get another one.
We used to just go in, take the eye test, get pic taken and have a seat while the license was made which usually took about 5-10 minutes. They were checked before you got it. One time my pic for whatever reason showed up as black background with a ball of fuzz, but they wouldn't let me keep that one and had to re-take the pic. Now, we have to bring documentation to verify everything. Not thrilled they make copies of birth certificate and other info I'd rather keep as private as possible. I still don't get why they still can't just issue the license since they see original documents instead of having to wait for it to arrive in the mail. Seems like more red tape and waste of money.

PA asks if your picture is ok. Hopefully she fixes it next time around.

My story about the half face photo on a Pennsylvania driver license happened about 30 years ago. I don't know if she ever did anything about it.

Morning snuggle time in the Crain household. Usually though it's Trixie where Simon is, Simon where Toby is and Toby where Trixie is.

My story about the half face photo on a Pennsylvania driver license happened about 30 years ago. I don't know if she ever did anything about it. I remember a story from some years back where a guy managed to get his DL photo taken with a colander on his head, I forget where. He claimed some spaghetti religion I can't believe he actually talked them into it. They make you take your glasses off now so all I am is a big squinting face lol.
Well we had a heck of what they are calling "wind storm" yesterday. It's still windy today but yesterday was really something. DH's canopy was torn up as was our outdoor umbrella, we should have taken those things down. At least my Halloween decorations didn't blow away, but I did have to bring the zombie's hat inside. There are leaves EVERYWHERE! I need to mow, I've been waiting until after Halloween so hopefully that will help with the leaves. Lots of people lost power, thankfully we did not.
They changed DS work schedule so he's off Thursdays instead of Saturdays and he came by for a visit yesterday which was really nice. The idea was to let the dogs play in the back yard, but Janey was mostly scared of the wind. His little dachshund mix is a little bold thing and isn't scared of much lol.
Congrats, Chap, I know you will earn your shirt tomorrow DD has a 5k tomorrow morning. And in addition to her Peloton treadmill she has now ordered the bike. I'm curious to see what she will think about it.

val2525 Val, do you remember where you got your cubbies? I have a small ikea 8 bin shelf, but yours look lighter in weight. They are great for storing my listed stuff. By the way, you don't come up in the link as colorfulthings. I had to put in Val.

jesmelric - good luck to your DD on her 5K! My doctor has a peloton and really likes it - she says she can't get to the gym or get outside to ride/run for long with two small kids and a full time job, so this works out perfectly. I have a 'wind trainer' downstairs - it's a rear-wheel contraption that fits onto your regular bike. I use that sometimes but am trying to ride more outside now.

Here is our part-Persian cat Jamie - she's going to be 20 soon. She has also claimed a towel on the floor and she definitely has arthritis in her legs - can't get up on the bed anymore. She slept with Pat every night and then both of us after we married, and if anyone lay down for a nap and she was indoors, she'd jump up to snuggle on us. She also sat in Pat's lap every morning - she doesn't do any of that anymore. I think she may feel vulnerable due to her mobility problems and prefers to stay near the floor where everything is controllable, and also sleep where there is limited access - she can't really see and is nearly deaf so she is understandably wary. So that is in the back corner of my study - that's OK because I can look right over and see her, and she can probably sense that I'm there.

Love the names Sam & Dean Which reminds me, I need to see if that show is on any of the streaming services. I've only seen a few episodes but I really liked it.

Better late than never for Cat Day! Here are 4 of the 8 kits that are just being weaned from their mama. About 5 weeks old now.
All boys except for the lil Snowshoe Meezer. They are our Christmas kits.

By the way, you don't come up in the link as colorfulthings. I had to put in Val. You have to use the member's username (screen name) to tag them. I got my cubicles at Big Lots, Walmart and Target (I have them on two walls in the bedroom, and two in the office area to be used for listed inventory once I start listing again). I also have a couple of just 3 cube units. I like that you can use any combination (3, 6 or 9) based on your space because they're all interchangeable even when bought from different stores. www.biglots.com/product/system-build-6-cube-white-storage-cubby/p810009399?N=1222450003&pos=1:22www.biglots.com/product/soft-white-9-cube-storage-cubby/p810435818?N=1222450003&pos=1:3www.target.com/p/11-6-cube-organizer-shelf-room-essentials-153/-/A-50699204www.target.com/p/11-9-cube-organizer-shelf-room-essentials-153/-/A-50253244?preselect=15116810#lnk=sametabwww.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-6-Cube-Storage-Organizer-White/139309686www.target.com/p/11-3-cube-organizer-shelf-room-essentials-153/-/A-50253252?preselect=16908245#lnk=sametabIf you need the fabric bins, I've found the best price (and color selection) is on Amazon. I have this one by my front door, to act as a divider between the door and the living room, to give it a sort of foyer effect. www.target.com/p/11-3-2-1-cube-organizer-shelf-room-essentials-153/-/A-50253253I'm in a one bedroom apartment so I need all the storage I can get becuase I need my one (very large) closet for eBay. These work perfectly. They don't take up a lot of room, and the cats love them because it's more play space for them. The ones in the "office" are backed up to the futon so the cats have a running path or sleep area on the top and "tunnel" on the bottom

They are not at my house yet. All 8 are at Angie's house with their mom and the the Kandy Kits mom who was enlisted for nursing duties after her kits were weaned..
As soon as the 3 Kandy Kits and the two H kits at my house go to Seattle, 4 of them will probably come here. No firm names yet but all will have Christmas names.

Definitely Noel and also Kringle. Also pushing for Mistletoes for the Snowshoe Meezer.
Probably throw in some reindeer names too.
Almost forgot about the tiniest one. His name is Tiny Tim.

Finished up with Hell Week - just in time because I don't think I could withstand another workout in this short a time! They increase the intensity during Hell Week: "OK, now 60 jump squats...go!" But, I earned my shirt and it's a cool graphic. There's a Cali-Burger that just opened up a few doors down from the gym and I treated myself to a Baja spicy impossible burger with bacon (that got the checker's attention lol). It only opened about a month ago and it is already really popular - everything is made to order and they have a robotic french fries maker that fascinates everyone. jesmelric - how did your DD's 5K go?

Kritter, when you're coming up with kitten Christmas names, Noel would make a cute one. Noel is my last name. I always joke Christmas is when we get customized stuff at no extra charge and see our name in lights all over. Years ago before the branches grew and the tree rats started invading our balcony, we used to put a white sign with "Noel" in red lights in front of our balcony. I came home from work one day to find a bulb burned out and we were now "Nool". We referred to ourselves as the Nools that year.

I doped up Gunner hoping I can cut his nails today. Did his back ones but he does not cooperate with the front ones. Walking hasn’t helped. His dew claws are bad. If this doesn’t work I will have to take him to the vet to get knocked out. He is so controlling. I can do my other 5 dogs just not him.

Happy Halloween! Does anyone happen to know what time Saver's opens today? They normally open at 11 on Sunday but I think they have extended hours today. Wish I would have thought to check yesterday. I've checked their website and FB page. Can't find anything.
