Really like the jack o' lanterns!
Jamie has a new favourite spot - in a corner of my study behind a tub full of mending. I lay a fluffy towel there for her and she's now quietly 'docked' - I'm hoping she likes her spot and it helps her mood. She may like the company with me at my desk because she follows us around meowing. Cassie slept in my office for years - it was her 'spot' and would come out into the hallway and wait for me to hurry up and get back to work so she could curl up in her little bed while I tap-tapped on my keyboard, took calls, etc.
Well, I signed up for Hell Week at Orange Theory Fitness. I'm not sure what I'm letting myself in for, but even if I have few talents, one is the ability to suffer, so I figured well, that's on my side. It's 5 hard workouts in 8 days, the workouts are extra long and extra brutal. So it will be a challenge. The T shirt for the event is scary so that's pretty cool.

The ability to suffer and push myself to do brutal things are two abilities I do not own lol. I'm a steady exerciser for many years because it's part of my routine, and I am a very routine oriented person. I push myself a bit; but brutal? Just can't do it. I have always admired those who can. DD who just did the 1/2 marathon is like that, and also has a membership to Orange Theory. I am just too much of a reading a book while eating chocolates person
Here is something nice; out of the blue DIL had some treats delivered to me from a local cookie/bakery. Some bars, and chocolate truffles (cookie dough, omg!) and they are SO GOOD!! No specific reason, what a wonderful surprise! And something else nice. Yesterday early evening there was a knock on the front door. The neighbors from 2 doors down (we have what I call big house people and small house people. Small house like us own the original homes and big house own the huge expensive new builds) big house people lol, came to knock because their son (maybe 5 or so) insisted he had to tell us how much he likes our Halloween decorations AND that he wasn't scared of the zombie this year lol. Really sweet, he was a chatty little thing and seemed to know way too much about Freddy Kruger. So that was really nice, hopefully they will come to trick or treat on Halloween.

Does anybody else get those ads on here for Zolucky and Lilicloth?
They have some of the cutest freaking clothes but I know they won't be as cute in person plus they won't fit after they take 3 months to get here from China.
Having that knowledge is saving me a lot of money but I am so tempted because maybe just maybe I would get what I thought that I ordered.

Yes, I do as well as whatever the site is with some really neat looking shoes. I'm thinking the same thing- they look cute, but probably Asian sizing and cheaply made.
A quick google is telling me to avoid:

I know, I know. My eyes just love their stuff but my brain says "No, Absolutely Not." My neighbor thought she bought this wreath from Etsy Garden in the first pic and what she got from China in the 2nd pic.

My eyes and brain are playing tricks on me when I look at the Halloween Decor at the top of this page. For some reason my brain gloms onto the nose & mouth only and it looks like a sombrero. It might be because the reflection doesn't show the eyes. Anyway, it's making me look twice and chuckle--so that's good.

LOL, you're right. And "thanks", now I'm seeing sombreros unless I look higher.

I see a lot of nice tops in my Facebook feed and then I remember DH's cargo pant purchase nightmare.

Not exactly the same but I was recently lured in like a moth to flame for the Shein website. I think its a smidge more legit than these two. We shall see.... once my stuff ever makes its way here. I have an upcoming trip and couldn't resist a few adorable swimsuits. Of course, I had to order about 4 sizes up lol.

YAYAYAY! My daughter's divorce has just been granted!!! Almost 4 years of fighting, which will continue of course. Troy is fighting to get money from her. 401K, spousal support, etc.

Terrific news Pam! Prayers for your son-In-law's quick and thorough recovery!
Great news Denise! I was gonna say I hoped your former SIL just slunk away post-divorce but that's not gonna happen since they have a kiddo. OTOH I've seen people mature and straighten out after the divorce is final so maybe he'll mature and get over himself.
Another beautiful day in the neighborhood- Fall is right on schedule this year and trees are getting colorful. But temps are in the 40s at night so we caved & turned on the furnace.

I have no idea but apparently she thought she was on Etsy and somehow got on that Etsy garden site.
Pretty sure it was one of those after dark buying sprees that never ends well.

Denise, I hope Troy gets nothing from your daughter. Is there some reason that he can't work?

Denise, I hope Troy gets nothing from your daughter. Is there some reason that he can't work? He hurt his back at work, so is on disability. But he is able to do any kind of physical job under the table. He will get some of her 401k, and she can't do anything about that. But he was in an accident 5 years ago and is suing the driver, so he might get a settlement from that. And she will then be entitled to 30% of that.

Well, I hope he doesn't get much of her 401k.

She still has to figure out how much since she didn't contribute into it while she was in nursing school. So it isn't the whole 8 years of marriage worth. He was disabled shortly after they were married, so she had to pay all of the bills. It will be a fight, as usual.
He lost the last hearing and can only have Jax on every other Sat & Sun from 10-6 supervised. He can't be trusted to take Jax to school if he has him during weekdays. And won't help with his homework. Or take him to sports since he doesn't want Jax to participate in sports.
Hate hate hate

That's good that his visits have to be supervised and will only be on weekends.

He has his father with him in the car for pick-up and drop-off, but not once he gets home. And that is also a violation, but the judge doesn't seem to care.

I thought at first when I read the original post, that the wreath came from the real Etsy, that they had a "garden section" for flower stuff. (I rarely look there) I was thinking, how do they allow that on their site? OMG if that green thing ever arrived at my door. Looks like chintzy decor for St Patrick's Day. That first wreath is gorgeous, love the white pumpkins instead of orange, you can use it more seasons instead of just Fall.

Apparently, that's why the company chose to use the word "Etsy" thinking people were dealing with the real Etsy site. If they do get something, like that awful wreath, it would cost more to ship back to China. Shame there are companies like that around, but it's also a reminder of "buyer beware" and take the time to check out who you're dealing with before buying anything.

The internet's a weird and sometimes downright shady place and that 2nd wreath is a visual travesty! I JUST had the strangest thing happen and my head's sorta 🤯 While researching about some vintage fabric I found yesterday (cretonne cotton) by browsing Google images, I saw a photo of some I have listed on MY website. I thought I had deactivated the listing so I clicked thru to see why it was showing. But it WASN"T my website! 🤨 Definitely was my photos & listing- I recognized my iPhone in the blue case I used to show the scale of the large print. AND their photo/listing thief has it listed for $20 less than I do! I can't quite wrap my head around the point of this or what to do about it. ::Sigh::

Why does Amazon still have that listing up? Seriously, they can afford to have employees who monitor the reviews and weed out that crap!

I wonder about people who think they're going to get something like that first wreath for $18.99, shipped free.
