Would someone please explain to me why it's a trend for women to wear their top stuffed into the front of the waistband and hanging out everywhere else?
Is it supposed to look sexy?
Because to me it looks like you got your shirt stuck in your zipper because you were in a hurry to get out of the bathroom.

I'm still trying to figure out why men thought wearing pants barely hanging onto hips and exposing as much underwear as possible with a crotch down to the knees was fashionable.

Men I get. They're fashion clueless and go for comfort. But the shirt tucked in look on women stumps me.

I did a quick google and at the top a paragraph said it was to make legs look longer. Here's an article on when to tuck/not tuck/partially tuck. I'm glad I never got into following fashion trends and always wear what I feel like wearing how I feel like wearing it:

I think it's an effort to make the shirt look a little less frumpy. I don't really mind it.

I do it when the button on my jeans/pants bother me.

I hate it on models when I'm shopping. It makes it hard to tell how the top hangs.
It's also not very flattering on plus sizes unless you're lucky enough to have long legs to start with and an hourglass shape. On apples and pears, no so appealing IMO.

I noticed the trend too and saw it referred to as a French fashion style.

It looks maybe OK in fashion layouts, but in person it looks really dumb, like somebody couldn't decide what to do with themselves that morning.
As for the droopy pants guys - it's not comfort, it's all just pose. Half the time they're having to keep pulling their pants up, hold them up if they have to get anywhere quickly, and I've seen them actually fall down once or twice when some dude is trying to hurry across a street. It's as bad as the women in their stiletto heels struggling along - why not just bind your feet.
