Is anyone else getting them? When I am on eBay, I am constantly getting large pop-up ads from Capital One and Walmart...titled "Interesting Topics".
I think that I stopped the ability for outside ads, but apparently I didn't? They just started yesterday. I cleared my history and cache, but that didn't help.

I haven't noticed any pop up ads on eBay. I think I only get ads on the left side below all the drill down stuff.

My son put an ad blocker on my computer years ago so no pop ups for me. It was free, I can ask him what it is and where to download it safely if you want?

I use Black Hole (department of defense) and Ad Remover - it takes two to root out all of those astardbays, and eBay is really bad with their ads.

This is the ad. Jes....is that Ad Muncher? I used to have it, but no longer have it. If not, I am open to suggestions. I did write to eBay for business on Facebook but it does take awhile to receive an answer. This is one of them....

Thanks Chap....going to look for those. The above pic shows that it takes up my whole screen!

Chap- I couldn't find the Black Hole one, and since I have to pay for the Ad Remover one...I installed free Ad Muncher. And it works!
I guess the reason why I lost it was when my tower crashed last year.
Now I just have the large Ad Choices thing at the top. I did choose to remove the Ad Choices, but 90 of them can't be removed. How nice of eBay.
But at least the ad doesn't cover my whole page.
Thanks ladies!

No, but I have an adblocker, it's just the Chrome extension that I use.

Oh well...that only lasted for an hour or two. The ads are back. Will have to look for Chaps' suggestions.
Jes...let me know what worked for you.
Zoe-I can't use Chrome anymore for eBay since it doesn't recognize me. I had to change it to FireFox.

Well..turned out to be a virus. I inadvertently clicked on the pop up to get out of it and got a virus warning. And the threat started yesterday when the ads started. Now running a full computer scan.

Well..turned out to be a virus. I inadvertently clicked on the pop up to get out of it and got a virus warning. And the threat started yesterday when the ads started. Now running a full computer scan. Good idea on on the scan! Did you get the virus from the ebay pop-up? That's a little worrisome. I never see any of that stuff so haven't had experience with it. Honestly, eBay's grab for nickels and dimes with click-through and click-bait is really intrusive. The Black Hole is available through enterprise systems so it's tough to get (I got it from the DH who installed it on our network). The Ad Remover works really well - the subscription I have is multi-seat and works on all machines and mobile devices, so it was just easier for me to be able to install it on everything. There are a number of good free options, as well, but they weren't getting rid of everything for some reason. I do know that sites are getting good at getting around ad blocking, as well.

In my Firefox browser I use Ad Block Plus. On my computer, I use Malwarebytes for virus and malware and CCleaner to free up space and clear out old registry files.

Thanks. Well, maybe it isn't a virus. I ran a complete virus scan, and whatever was there has now been fixed. But the ads persist.
I have my security settings on high.
Ad Muncher won't work on Edge, but I think it is installed okay on Firefox, which is what I use for eBay.
I just wrote to eBay for business on Facebook and sent them the pic.
If that doesn't work, I guess that I will subscribe to Ad Remover. Meanwhile, I am going to post my problem on the eBay discussion group.

I did have Malwarebytes, but might not have it now. I do have a virus protection through Comcast which is my ISP. I thought that I had Ad Block. Will check it out.

Jeremy....Ad Block Plus asks for a donation. I hesitate to give them a CC number in the event that they will continue to take $$ out.
Was it okay for you?

I think I had a similar problem years ago. The tech said I must have clicked on something which started the problem. I think he went into the time machine on my mac computer and backdated it from before it started and it solved the problem.

You may want to uninstall Firefox and then reinstall it. I don't know if it would work but may be worth a try

ahhh Jeremy! I bow humbly to you!!!! I installed it right after you wrote and it worked! I will have to check the site that you just posted. I downloaded it but didn't realize that it would start without a donation. So far, it has blocked 256 ads!!! You are the best!!! I am considering making a donation (or should I send it to you? ) . I have had the ads at the top of my page forever but just considered them to be annoying. Until I had the huge things taking up my whole screen. Now they are gone!!!!

denise15601 - the 'donation' is just to help finance shareware - the developers as for a few dollars to keep them going. I regularly donate if I use shareware and no one ever takes anything more out - it's a one time thing.

Right, and we can also donate monthly. But I am so excited now that I will give them a one-time donation. Now up to over 300 ads blocked. Do I hear a million soon?

Well day-um. I still have some ads popping up, but not as many. I am now clicking on them and highlighting them to send to the ad-blocker.
What a pain!
The Ad Blocker is blocking about 100 ads an hour.

I had something like that a year or so ago. I googled it and it turned out to be some kind of downloaded thing that somehow got on my computer. I had to go into programs or whatever they are called on my computer and actually delete the program before they would stop.
I am not seeing what you are seeing now so I bet it is something that downloaded itself that ad blocker can't catch.

I think that I finally found it! I downloaded Avast and it found a threat as seen below. I haven't had the pop-ups for a few days. I had to take off Ad Block since it was also removing the descriptions of my listings when I wanted to revise them. Going to reload Ad Block soon and hope that it behaves. Interesting that the threat came through Edge.

Chap-thanks so much! Boy do I have a lot to do now. As I was reading through all of the complicated suggestions, it said to install Avast, and I just did get a free trial. Then it showed stuff that I had that was serious and said I should buy into it. So I did-what the heck. $38. But I don't know if that stuff got fixed. Guess I will have to run another scan.
And I guess I should change all of my passwords, all 2 million of them. Well, just the important ones anyway.

So, do you think that since I did a scan with Avast and they said all is good, that maybe I don't have to go through ALLLL of the other stuff? Like removing browser assistant extensions from Chrome, Firefox and Edge?
