Yeah, you are probably right. Just curious if it is a sheet or squares? If it has any discoloring or peeling/tearing? I don't want to have to redo my floor again, whichever we choose. Thanks! It's a sheet with one seam down the middle....but well matched. The darned thing doesn't have any discoloring, peeling or tearing. If it did, I would have a reason to replace it. But I don't have the $$, and besides, when my daughter gets my house, she plans to completely re-do my 70's kitchen..LOL

We have that heavy snow up here - it really packs down, too - there's a reason why up in the mountains we call it "Cascade Concrete" - crash land skiing on that stuff and you can do some real damage. I just snowshoe, though, which keeps me upright most of the time lol. The few times we get heavy snow in the lowlands people run out every few hours and shovel up on the driveways and walkways whatever has fallen so-far - the worst thing is to let about a foot of it accumulate and then herniate yourself trying to shovel that stuff up.
Snuck out between storms to squeeze in a run - man, I cut it close - I could feel the wind picking up from the south and I was hardly 20 minutes down the road when I was having to butt into it with my head down - at the turn-around it was much easier. I'm toddling along as fast as I can as I could feel the rain coming. It first just started misting about a mile and a half out - I toddled faster thinking that I was going to get a soaking but it just kept misting - I really lucked out.
I think someone at my DH's work has finally gone around the bend, or they didn't mute their Zoom - I'm hearing very loud, somewhat off-key singing coming from there, and it isn't the DH who sings on key. With the hours his team has been working to get their project off the ground, I'm not surprised.

Hey Chap, you two should look at the new developments in vinyl. They have vinyl now that looks like wood or tile. Nice stuff, too, and great for homes with pets and/or kids.

A neighbour had the wood style vinyl installed and I really liked it. I've seen the tile type, as well - I keep nudging the DH toward that. Goes in a lot easier!

We just laid the plank type luxury vinyl flooring , super simple we just installed in our flip house. It just basically clicks together, you just have to mix the boxes as you go just incase there is any color variations and use a new saw blade so you get clean cuts. We had to cover the old wood floor because it hadn't been taken care of and needed more TLC than we could give it. The vinyl flooring doesn't damage the floor beneath it, it just floats so if someone wants to refinish that option is still available. Here is picture of DH laying the flooring, he and I did the whole house in a day and half. We are getting ready to do my MIL house next, I think DS and girlfriend are going to buy MIL house and we will supervise/design renovations to it. In our area the vinyl floor runs between 1.99 to 3.25 per sq foot. Check Home Depot and Lowes for closeouts, that is how I purchased this floor for the flip house at 1.99 per sq foot.

Wow Alli! That looks great! Most new homes have hardwood or the plank type stuff.
When my daughter rips up my carpeting (since she hates it), I have really nice hardwood floors underneath. When we built the house in 1977, hardwood was actually cheaper than carpeting. But a year later, I had carpeting installed and it still looks great. And TG, since my feet hurt so much from my chemo and I need something soft to walk on.

We need to paint and redo the flooring. I keep saying we need to do this. Hard to figure out how to do it with 6 Labs in the house...

Since it is the holiday season I thought I'd share a feel good story of something in my local community.
A little over a year ago I joined a Facebook group in my local community for food lovers right when it was created. The whole point of the group is about restaurants and the food scene in the local city. The group grew very quickly and the creator of the group decided to do a fundraiser for the local food bank with what he felt was a very lofty goal of $25000. In less than two weeks the group has raised over $50,000 for the food bank!! Con Agra is also matching donations so that is over $100K donation to the food bank all due to a FB group. I know social media has it's problems, but it can also bring people together over a common interest and make great things happen. In addition, over 300 local restaurants donated gift cards to be given away in a drawing for those who donated.

BTW this picture was taken right after we finished and the floor looked great! It's a grimy stained mess now

Our kitchen floor is permanently disgusting - I finally gave up trying to clean it. The vinyl is worn and impossible to clean. Then I track dirt in from outside after running - we don't really have sidewalks in a lot of places, you run/walk in the road or on dirt paths along the side of the roads. I take my shoes off at the front door when they're wet and muddy, but gave up doing so otherwise, it just doesn't seem to matter. Also, Cassie the Tuxedo in Trouble broke the floor in the laundry room by bouncing her heavy ceramic water dish on it.

Um, Denise, your floor is back in style now.... I kinda like it. But I'd love to have an orange and white kitchen.

I was surprised when my friend painted her kitchen walls gold about 15 years ago.
Harvest Gold was THE thing in the late 1970's. Everyone had gone through white appliances, then coppertone, then avocado and the NEW Harvest Gold.
I wanted a blue kitchen, but the carpeting all through my main rooms is blue. That would have been overkill.

Denise, the floor still looks new!
It reminds me of those magazine ads for Congoleum in the 70s. I was a kid then but thought they were so pretty.

Denise, they were in style back then, and very popular. And obviously, you got your money's worth. It has held up very well.

Depending on the actual shade of orange, one could easily update that kitchen to a retro look in orange and yelllow, maybe with orange and lemon (the fruits, not the colors) art accents.

I'm sure your kitchen is the envy of kids today--even more so if you paint the cabinets white.

That's what I was thinking too, frakin! Add some yellow & orange pops on a tile backsplash - you'd have a really cool updated and trendy retro look but with the real thing on the floor.

My daughter sure is tired of it. She will replace the floor with wood-plank looking flooring. And will rip out the wall between my kitchen and dining room and make one huge kitchen.
My grandson is planning to make this family room his weight-room.
So many plans upon my death...LOL.

Good for parties since everyone seems to end up stuffed into the kitchen, anyway.

Until your comment, I hadn't actually checked that the floors I am looking at are no wax; They are NOT!! Lord I would have had the SAME problem I have with the VCT floor I have now. Yikes!! I think we are going to go with a click and lock linoleum, which is NO WAX! I have ordered some samples today, I want to see the colors, etc, in person.
And I think your floor is fabulous and it is back in style now lol. I can't believe it's still in such great shape! BTW my parents bought a house in 1972 and in addition to the harvest gold appliances there was...red and orange shag carpet!

Glad to be of help, Jes. The tile in my foyer is not no-wax and is dull and ugly.
Just be sure to not use the new hot-steam cleaning mop-things on the no-wax, since they take off the coating. I have a friend who used it on her no-wax floor and it is now dull an ugly.
We lived in a trailer before this house was built and we had the stupid orange-red shag carpeting too. Ugh. Along with Spanish wrought iron decor.
But of course, the decor is now selling online as vintage stuff that people want for some reason.
