Let me start with I know nothing about this but my MIL has these type of ceramics all over her house, try looking at Capodimonte that is what she called hers. I have no idea if there is a brand associated with it or if it is a style. I just know her 40 vases are going out in the front yard for free on the next nice day and if someone knows what they are looking at more power to them.

I think you really need the maker. It could be valuable or completely worthless. Really hard to tell. I don't know too much just what I have personally researched and the maker is the deal maker/breaker. If it turns out to be unmarked it will take a very special buyer to sell.

Thank you! I only have a $1.50 in it (half price sale) - I'll check that maker name and try to look under the felt pad.

I don't think it's Lenox which usually has gold trim. It may appeal to a Lenox buyer though. Lenox has lost value, depending. I think their little decorative pieces like vases & picture frames are pretty but don't pick them up for resell as they don't sell for much.

I just remembered I have a set of napkin rings that match your vase (wedding gift from family member. Never used but kept for sentimental reasons).
Mine are white rather than cream. They have a small silver foil label that says 'Bone China'. No brand.

I'm no expert either, but I agree not likely to be Lenox. I have some Lenox pieces here with roses & they look nothing like that, the roses are fine & delicate & small & there is the gold ring. It looks more like these capodimonte (sp?) ivory porcelain pieces with the large rather ornate roses. www.decorpad.com/bookmark.htm?bookmarkId=21643

If you can get the makers mark on the bottom I can probably help track it down. There is a good chance it might just be marked USA though.

The one thing you have to be especially careful about are chips and breakage. In my years of handling these, most have a chip or a broken leaf or some damage. You will need to get the felt pad off. It would be helpful if you had dimensions. Does it feel like bone china ( delicate and thinner ) or just some ceramic/porcelain ( thicker or sturdier)? I would say it's not Lenox ( I could be wrong - I frequently am)and it could be anywhere between Capodimonte or Dollar General. Post a pic of the bottom when you get the felt off please. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I think it's just a nice mass produced item. I peeled off the felt and it took the label with it - it was an semi-oval label edged with gilt, and just shows a production number on the bottom. I looked for variously shaped pottery labels but didn't see anything similar. It's nothing like egg shell - though it's not a heavy material. Curiously, there are no chips. Oh well, if my aunt were alive I would have given it to her, anyway, as she would love the 3D floral and it's small (about 5" high), but I think I'll wrap it up and redonate, or maybe try to sell it as an 'add-on' on Posh.

Almost looks like a lefton label.

It does! Also I see the earlier stuff is Japanese made.

I thought Lefton too when I first saw it. Does the number look like 13881 ? I wonder if that is the item or style number?

Here is a label from 1953-1971 - a similar one was used in 1986 . I hope I added the picture right.

I agree with Lefton. Definitely NOT Capodimonte.

Did you take a pic of it with eBays camera on your cell?

I photo'd with the camera I use for all of the product photography - a Panasonic Lumix. My phone takes OK photos but that's about it.

Oh, I see what you mean - I didn't try it because I didn't think just the scrap of info I had would show me anything. I needed wiser minds, like here! Image search can be really unreliable, unfortunately.

I used the eBay pic search thing today since I am listing my grandson's toys for him. I have these Octonauts, and couldn't for the life of me remember what they were. The pic option thing showed me!

Go to the ebay app on your cell. I have an eBay overview app that shows my store, but that isn't the one. Just use the regular eBay app, and at the top search bar, there is picture of a camera. Click on that and it says "take a new photo". Point it at the item that you want to identify, click and eBay will bring up pics of the same item that is listed.

As soon as I learned about it, my grandson and I were taking pics of my microwave, salt shaker, etc. LOL

It's really handy if you can get a good shot, or have enough information.
