Ughhh, sorry. I was just thinking of starting to sell there. I cross list just about everything from Ebay to Poshmark. I don't get a lot of sales, but enough to keep me interested in selling there. I've been on there for probably about 3 or 4 years now and have had only 2 issues with scammers so far. Not trying to sway you one way or another, but I'll stay there for now. This buyer just really ticked me off, saying a fricking pair of Levi's "wasn't authentic" because they didn't fit, Oy! Since this is a fit issue, and they don't allow returns for fit, they SHOULD have my back on this one. :::fingers crossed:::

Her claim is totally ludicrous! On most of the items I research, mostly PM ads come up & the prices always seem better than what I'm getting on Ebay. Is PM the one you have to do on your phone? Or the one where you have to do lots of SM stuff? Both have kept me away from it, but now I finally have a smartphone. I still don't really want to list on it though, it's way too hard for old eyes to deal with.

I had someone try to return some boots because they didn't fit. I was very clear in my listing that they ran small. They were size 9. She tried to scam me by uploading 'evidence' that they were size 8 1/2 - nope, that was NOT the photo in my listing, wasn't even the same boots. Poshmark did not allow the return - this was a $225 sale.
It's easy to reposh things and they just say to do that.
Honestly, I wouldn't worry about the Levis - who fakes levis anyway, they're as common as dirt.
I make more sales on Posh than I do on eBay these days. I also double list, but I sell most of my vintage on Posh.

Zoesam - I use my desktop to list on Posh. Always have. I cross list items on Ebay and Posh. I do have the app on my phone. When I am waiting in line somewhere, I do the Following and the Sharing. It's easy. Just dabble in it a little bit and see what happens. It's always good to have another revenue stream.

zoesam Still waiting on their decision. I used to share my closet and other peoples stuff a whole lot more than I do now. Now I'm only doing it when I get a chance and have the patience to do it, maybe 3 - 4 times per week. My sales there go in spurts. I'll go a week with nothing then get 4 sales in an hour. IIRC, I had to sign up on my phone but I only use the desktop to list. I don't know if the sign up thing has changed.
chapeaunoir This is the second "fake Levi" case I've had. The first one was on Ebay from a Japanese guy in California who swore the ones I sold him were fake because the waistband button was silver instead of copper. This was way back when you could actually get ahold of customer service. That case was a total headache with the decisions flip-flopping between ruling in my favor and his favor. I talked to 12 or 13 CSRs over 2 weeks before they finally got fed up with the whole thing and ruled in my favor but gave him a refund out of their pockets.

There are scammers everywhere and on all sites. Tradesy, FBM and Grailed have been okay so far for me. Apparently, Mercari has lousy CS, but I haven't had a problem YET.
I listed 15 Hummels and am amazed that they might be listed on Posh, Mercari and FBM for $100 and $15 on eBay. I sure can't figure out that one....

sunsetpainter - I remember that. It was absolutely ridiculous. zoesam - I do the same as pammyvan. I do a lot on Poshmark, mostly because it gives me the opportunity to listen to audiobooks while I work it. My sales also go in spurts, and with good title SEO, I'm not sure all that sharing is really necessary, but I share a couple-three times a day. I only have about 150 items to share and it goes really fast on my desktop. On the cell phone a lot slower so I just do that when I'm out and about (or on the seat of ease lol).

Some poshers pay for a VA to share for them. It's not worth it IMHO for something that takes me all of five minutes to do.

denise15601 , pay for a virtual assistant? I've not heard of that. On the Facebook posh groups, there are often discussions of VA's and many ladies use them. I think it is $30 - $40 a month and the VA will share your followers and also your closets. There are also upgrades for more $$. However, it is against Posh rules, and a lot of the VA's use bots. I have no desire to get my closet shut down and can't afford it anyway.

Great balls of fire! She's still arguing that these are not authentic because she bought 3 different pairs of Levi's and these are the only ones that don't fit. :::SMH::: Her last message was something to the effect of "Did you actually expect me to keep something that doesn't fit?" Um, yes! That's how Poshmark works!

I don't do SM at all, not even FB, so this may be a dumb question, but who are you 'sharing' with? It's not like I have SM friends to share with, nor do I want any LOL. Or do people somehow denote interest & then you share with them in the future.

zoesam - I'm still a little shaky on the Shares and Follows. You list an item and then 3 things can happen. 1. Another Posher will "like" your item ( that's what the heart emoji symbolizes under your listing). Once they "like" it, that's it. Posh gives you a chance to do a temporary markdown for all the "likers" on an item. I have not found the temporary markdowns too successful for me - others may be happier with that feature. 2. Another Posher will "Share" your item which means it shows up on that Poshers feed and is shared with all of their followers. If someone shares one of my items, I try to share at least 2 of their items. It's just good manners 3. Another Posher will "Follow" you which means that when you list a new item, it shows up in all of your follower's feeds ( front page kind of). When someone follows, likes or shares one of my items, I try to follow them and share 2 of their items. I don't do the "likes" because I get lower offers on things I have no interest in buying. Unless I find something I'm interested in buying which hasn't happened yet. It's important to get followers and shares so more eyes will see your items. I may be mistaken about parts of this so forgive me if I am wrong. Someone will correct it for us. It's very easy to do from your desktop. I did have to download the app before I could start using the desktop but that was a few years ago so it might have changed. The only thing I find annoying is that Poshmark sends out inspirational quotes via text a couple of times a day. Get going and good luck

Exactly, pammyvan.
On my cell, I just hit "all", and if they are new followers, I follow them back. And if they share one of my items to their followers, I will do the same.
I really don't know if it makes a difference, though.
Since I am on the East coast, I don't share any of my items in the morning, since I think it would be too early for the rest of the country to see the items. I wait until lunch or dinner, or while I am on my recumbent bike.

The only thing I find annoying is that Poshmark sends out inspirational quotes via text a couple of times a day. Get going and good luck I think sharing also helps with your placement in search results. When your item has been recently shared, it shows up higher in results if someone is searching for something that brings up your item, even if that person isn't following you. I haven't been all that impressed with the results from sharing so I have backed off from how much I was trying to do initially. But when I share, I try to maximize my efforts which means getting others to share your items. I believe a good way to do that is to share to "parties". The people who "attend" the parties are often ones who do a lot of sharing, especially if you share a couple of their items. So when I am sharing others items, I choose things that have been shared to a party, even if there isn't a current party going on (I look at past parties and share from there). Parties were a strange concept when I first started and I pretty much ignored them, but now I think they are probably the most beneficial (relatively speaking) because there are people actively there (whereas a simple share to followers depends on if your followers on on-line when you share, otherwise your item gets pre-empted in their feed by anyone else they are following). There are generally 3-5 parties per day, and they are based on a "theme" of some kind--active wear, tops, dresses and suits, men's clothing, etc. There are parameters that keep you from sharing things that aren't included in the party. Parties can get more than a million listings shared to them. Still, don't let following and sharing intimidate you. Just getting items listed means they will show up in search results, initially high in search results but moving down as other listings come in. You can figure out sharing and following once you begin to get the lay of the land after listing a few items, and then move on to figuring out parties. It will probably take a week or two to get it sorted out, and then you will continue to fine tune your understanding for a while after that. I think it's probably easier to learn than ebay overall , but maybe that's because of already being familiar with ebay.

I agree about the parties and try to participate in them, depending on what I am doing for those 2 hours.
Not that it has helped my sales there, though.

I try to share in the morning (west coast) and around parties, but have been slack lately. I get some sales from offering discounts on bundles and the like, but its been really slow there lately, but I think that's the times. I need to pick up on the sharing as that's really key. So much stuff is listed there and it moves so fast that you have to keep up.
OTOH, good SEO in your titles really helps - I see a lot of titles that are like "Shoes" or "Madewell Top" and that doesn't do a lot.

Whether you share or not, Posh items show up in Google images pretty frequently so it's worth listing there. I like their transparency as to fees too- no garbled invoices to try to decipher... it's a straight 20%. After just finishing our taxes and dealing with Etsy and eBay I REALLY appreciate the simplicity.

Their reports are simple and easy, too, and have everything, and go back quite a ways. All I need to do is download the spreadsheet for the entire year and everything is broken out. They have managed payments and like Retro says, what you see is what you get. I just shuffle the money into my checking account when my Posh account gets to a certain point, just like Paypal.
The other side, for me, is that some stuff goes for really cheap and it's a lot of haggling, but honestly, it balances out if you don't mind all the sharing.

I'm debating on selling all the NWT clothing I have on Poshmark. Would it truly be worth it? I have 1 thing listed on there already because I wanted to see the listing process. But I think I'm going to try to get up about 10 listings this weekend (maybe more). Just wondering if Posh is more stable than eBay for clothing. A lot of what I have is NWT in the $40 to $140 MSRP range.

With NWT stuff, I would try it - just be prepared to spend time sharing, etc., and haggling. Also at some point someone is going to want you to text or email them - just report those posts as spam and they'll disappear. It's so slow everywhere for me right now because I'm struggling for inventory, but I still sell somewhat regularly on Posh, and as you know, I carry a strange assortment of clothing.

UPDATE:
Got this from Poshmark this morning:
"Hi Sunsetpainter,
We are reaching out to you regarding your recent sale, "Levi's 524 Boot Cut denim jeans". Although the buyer opened a return request, we have decided to resolve this favorably for you and your buyer. We have added your earnings to your account, while also refunding your buyer as part of the protection we provide each of our users."
Good for me, but teaching newbies how to scam on Poshmark.

Page taken right out of eBay's book. So the buyer gets to keep the item and their money. Which they can now resell for more money. Ridiculous.
