I have signed up to sell on Mercari. I have everything it says I need, but I cannot list. Going through the help files, it says something about Government ID verification, but I do not have that option anywhere.
I just spent $10 on a cross listing app to cross list items from eBay to Mercari, but Mercari is blocking me from listing (the list button is greyed out).
Help?

I don't know what the issue is. I cannot login with my username and password through the app. My only option is to login through facebook, but that doesn't give me the same account.
Actually, forget it. I no longer care. If I can't get things to work, then it's too much of a hassle. \
Thanks anyway

Oh man - I just signed up on Mercari with my phone and that was it. Could it be the cross-listing app that's creating problems? Mercari is probably one of the worst written apps I've ever used, but I'm telling you - CDs there sell.

Mercari is probably one of the worst written apps I've ever used, but I'm telling you - CDs there sell. The crosslist app is a google extension and it's working how it should but when I get to hit the list button, it is not an option. Going through help pages, I found something about ID verification, but it's only available through the phone app (the option isn't there thru the PC). So, I go to the phone app and try to log in, put in my info and hit login, it takes me to the login screen. Over and over. I cannot log in. I did everything they said to do. I reached out to support who asked me for a screenshot. I sent them one, but haven't heard back. So, I have a Mercari account that I can't list on, despite not knowing why, an app that I can't log into unless I create a new account and paid for an app that I can't use.

I would uninstall and reinstall everything. But I agree, I've never used such a cackhanded app as Mercari.

Oops-just saw this. I had no problem. I guess that I did the verification on my cell....I had to do a verification for one of my sites, so maybe that was the one. I would do a force stop on your cell and keep trying. I don't get a lot of sales on there, maybe a few a week, but it is worth having.

I've done everything and have gotten no response after it being forwarded to technical support. I thought about canceling my account but you can only do that through the app, which I cannot log into.
I thought maybe I would be able to list a bunch of current stuff with the cross list app, but since I cannot list at all, I wasted $10 on the first month of the cross lister, too.

Wonder if it is a problem with the cross lister? I cross-list myself, and it only takes a minute or 2. I don't have the extra $$ to pay someone to do it for me.

Well, no thanks to Mercari support, I finally got it figure out. The app didn't seem to like the special character that I used in my password. I changed my password in the browser and left out the special character (I used ! at the end) and was able to log into the app. From that point, I was able to get ID verified and can now list through the app and the browser. Now I have do decide if the $10 is worth it to sign back up with the cross listing extension.

Well, it doesn't look like I can sell DVDs or VHS tapes there. I can sell books and CDs. I have 2500+ DVDs coming in next week and was hoping to list them there. I guess I concentrate on CDs for now. It might be because I'm new? Who knows.

Pretty much the same way one can tell if clothing is a knock-off. Trust me, it's harder to find knock off DVDs and CDs than it is to find legit ones. Chances are, the ones your daughter found are legit. Whether they are worth listing, is another story, as most really aren't. It really is very very rare to find a knock off that looks exactly like the real thing and most knock offs aren't of common movies that are in circulation and can be found in quantities everywhere. If they are burned from an original, they would be on DVD-RW, there would also be printing flaws either on the cover or the label. Then again, it's quite possible that the thousands that I've sold were all knock offs. I really have no way of telling, to be honest

I listed about 10 of Isabella's book lots on Mercari and already got a sale. It was with an offer, but it was reasonable (I like that the most they can offer is 25% off). I am not a big fan of shipping before payment, but it is what it is. They will ship tomorrow.

Their categories are pretty limited but if you use good SEO in your titles, you'll be good. I sold a set of Rumpole of the Bailey there in under a week that had just sat on eBay for over a month, and for better money.

They were outside a "rich people" house, so I would think they are real. Just talked to her about what she found last night. She realizes that she needs to do a ton of research, esp with vintage stuff to see the real value. She sold a vintage cooler to the pawn shop for $20 and they now have it priced at $125. Just like the Legacy grill that she sold for $300 and the guy who bought it said that he would have paid $1,400. It was a discontinued Holland model.

Sorry, I mean, it won't let me. If I choose the DVD or VHS category, the List button is greyed out. If I change the category to something else, I can list it even tho nothing else has changed. I don't know if they limit that category until I've got feedback or what.

I really just don't get this site. I am able to log into the app now with no issues. However, trying to log into the browser from work and my email/password is incorrect. I reset my password through the browser, it won't let me log in, says my email/password isn't correct. I reset my password through the app. Can't log in to the browser, says my email/password are incorrect.
I'm trying to work with tech support to show them I can't list DVDs and VHS tapes, but since I can't log into the browser, I can't send them a screenshot. I'm not having any issues through the app, but that is not how i want to list.

Was able to log in at home with no issues. Still not able to list DVDs or VHS. Support finally got back to me and I sent him screenshots showing when I select the DVD, VHS or Blu-Ray category, the list button is greyed out, but if I select another category without changing anything in the listing, it lights up and can be clicked. So, right now, I list books and CDs. Speaking of, sold 1 more lot of books there and have questions on another from the person who bought the first lot. I also dislike that there is no sell similar button and that I have to input all my shipping info every time I list. Not a big deal, just annoying

I figured it out. There is a dropdown for VHS and DVDs that is easy to miss that is required. It's for Category, Rating and something else. Once I filled that in, I was able to list.

Mercari is the three-legged table of the ecommerce world.
