Just logged into my Etsy store and danged if they haven't changed the landing page up again. Now in the upper right corner there's a heart for favorites, a bell for notifications and a jumbled mess titled Your Account only it isn't labeled at all; you see what it is by hovering over the blob of pix. Anybody else in this beta thing or is it this way for good? WHY do venues insist on tweaking little details like this? Rant over for now. Sigh.

I'm not in that view yet, I guess. Some fresh 4th quarter hell, no doubt, prepared especially for us. Etsy to me is just a lost cause - I sell about 5 things a month there and refuse to give Josh more shekels than free shipping (just to move stuff out). They got rid of those stupid kindergarten blobby graphs, though, and I just have a straight stats page now with favourites on the bottom, which is a nice change. Something to look forward to, I guess.

I saw that jumble a couple of days ago but then it straightened itself out to be heart, bell, shop manager and you. They changed the order under shop manager so now you have to scroll to see what is being liked by customers. Whee. Still no sales, none, for like a month. Rearrange the deck chairs and pat yourself on the back.

Those piddly little changes just annoy the heck outta me. But especially this close to Christmas!

Josh Silverman reminds me of a twitchy, hyperactive kid - he even sounds like it, all over the place - who just can't keep his hands off things. He's so proud of the constant intensive testing and changes, and the Etsy sycophants, the worst of whom tells us to 'reimagine' our shops to go along with whatever the latest barmey nonsense Josh has thought of (and who sells inexpensive gag gifts, which is what Etsy loves) are getting quieter and quieter on those forums.

I haven't had one sale there in a month. Really, people still look and love and nobody buys. This is really getting horrifying. If I don't sell something soon--I don't know exactly when soon is--I will consider closing my store there. It costs money to have things sit and sit.Apparently this is a real problem for a lot of people on Etsy now. But for me, it seems to be hitting pretty much everywhere. Etsy is just the one that is utterly dead.

Frackin- your store is full of amazingly gorgeous things- that Zandra Rhodes dress is TO DIE FOR!!! Have you posted in our 'for sale' area on this board? I haven't yet but a little nudge in promoting might help you reach more buyers outside Etsy. I'm still allergic to self-promo on social media but you (we) already know how this forum works and Val has it set up for us to use. Couldn't hurt to get found by more search engines, especially since the holidays are coming like a freight train and your jewelry is perfect for gifting.

Thanks RetroMonde. Yep holiday is jewelry season and I'm having my worst season ever in all 3 of my stores. Thanks for the reminder/suggestion too. I have posted interesting pieces there in the distant past. I don't know that it helped but it's worth a try again. It's very hard to get motivated to list anything anywhere and I have a terrible cold right now which is making it even harder. Blech and boo hoo hoo. Originally, I had 4 Zandra Rhodes dresses from my consignment estate client. I had never even heard of her before. This is the last one left. One of the things I like about what I do is that I'm learning all the time.
