I was looking at one of the parties, and one of the hostesses had a "listing" that said she was hosting a party and to share listings you wanted considered for host picks to her. I didn't really realize you could share to one person, but you can. I know there are mixed feelings on whether HP's help your sales, but I am trying various things trying to jump start PM as it is still languishing (had a week or two of good sales late Aug/early Sept but few and far between since then). So my question is do you think it's OK to share specific listings to hostesses (if they don't specifically ask you to)?

Sometimes they ask you to send them something, and sometimes not. So you have to read their rules.
I shared to parties daily for a month or 2 and made zero sales doing it. It took a lot of time to thank everyone who congratulated me, and then I shared their stuff.
I don't bother anymore, but I hope that you have better luck than I did!

I share to parties as much as possible, but don't look to get host picks - it's just nice when I get them. I've sold a few after parties but it's no guarantee.

I guess I am hoping to get in front of the people who are actively poshing to hopefully get some impulse buys. I have been making sure I am following the party hosts and then I share 2-4 of their items. I've gotten a couple of host picks that way, and they have gotten shared a lot. I will try that for a while longer but if it doesn't end up with any sales, I'll give up on it.

I did that for a while and then stopped - I'm not sure if it helped with sales or not - it's so hard to see where those sales are coming from, other than OTLs (which I don't really do anymore - I just do the closet clear-outs).

I am hesitant to use the closet clear outs because it reduces the price to everyone. New "likers" haven't "experienced" the price drop so they ask for/expect one. I will use the offer to buyers first for a few times (as new likes appear for it) before I use the closet clear out discount.

OTLs have never really worked for me or, believe me, I'd use them more! I do CCO but not as often as they hold them (which I think is far too often). I really need to keep stuff moving so am willing to do mark-downs. After a bit I relist everything with the prices up again - sometimes they sell then.

I can not figure out Poshmark to save my life. I offer to likers and nothing. I have done closet clean outs and nothing. I only get a couple of sales a month from Posh. I just relist some of my ebay stuff over there and delete when it sells on ebay. It is frustrating to put work into it and not see much in the way of rewards. Plus I think that my items are just not in popular with Posh's age bracket. I can not force myself to take pics of cheapy clothes and list for less that 10 dollars. Plus the Posh fee for listing items in this price range is outrageous.

They get paid with credit they can’t cash out so I think your strategy is a great idea. My plan is to get my listings back up on eBay then use List Perfectly to crosspost to Poshmark. They have a $30 monthly plan and I’ll test to see if that pays for itself. I have used Poshmark mostly as my dump for non eBay worthy things and it’s now full of reduced to $10 stuff so I need to get some fresh pretties mixed in to get things going again.

If Posh would only give us a FC option, I know that sales would be so much better. I do sell a lot of the cheaper brands-(stuff that my daughter gave me), so I throw everything on there. They might not sell for much, but anything is better than nothing. It does take a ton of time, though.

Posh's agreement is the flat $6.95 shipping to cover anything up to 5 lb is because it averages out across the board - if they were to have a first class option they would not be able to offer the very cheap shipping for 3-5 lb and above. It would be like Mercari.

I am also in the same camp to not change Poshmark shipping. Like most good things, a few would abuse it and ruin it for everyone. I prefer to add/eat the $2 and offer a shipping discount. I do agree there’s a wide gap on a $20 negotiation. The buyer looks at $26.95 + tax makes it about $29 and we see our $16 earnings.

I like Mercari's options. I have been on Poshmark for a year and only had 4 bundles sell.
All of my other sales are single items and when someone buys an infant's top weighing 3 ounces, I hate that they have to pay for Pr. shipping.
I only buy single items myself, so I usually end up buying on eBay since the shipping is cheaper.

I list shoes, boots and heavy coats on Posh because the shipping is so good for that, and I have small things around the house that I want to get rid of (accessories, small kitchen ware, etc.) for cheap that people can pop into a bundle to lower their shipping and get a discount - I factor that into price. I know what you mean about the little infant tops shipping for priority, but if the buyer wants to pay that then so be it. I can see tiered shipping being ruined on Poshmark - some of those sellers won't even pay a couple of dollars for a roll of danged tape to stick their labels on the packages - they use the very plasticky, rather expensive USPS international customs pouches. It all has to be FREE FREE FREE.

I have tried to make sure to go back and share yours also. I really do appreciate it..

I appreciate it, also! I share everyone who shares my stuff, even if I can only squeeze in 4-5 for my Posh buddies here and 2 for everyone else. When someone share-bombs me I just can reciprocate in kind - it takes up too much time as it is. If posh was all I did it may not be so bad, but its just one of several outlets so I get strapped for time. It does take a long time. I've been selling a lot of bundles, though - my latest bundle someone purchased some inexpensive makeup and popped it in, along with buying a vintage coat and a top. They get a good deal all around.

No problem! I have a set schedule. Every morning I have to put all kinds of stuff on my toenails to ward off infections from my chemo. Tea Tree Oil, Betadine, and Polysporin. Then I have to sit and let it all dry. That is my sharing-time. Maybe TMI, but at least I don't feel like I should be doing other stuff than sharing.
Share-bomb sure is a good word! Some new people share 50 of my items! They get 20 or 30 shared back... One time someone shared easily about 200 items!! WTH?? And Why??? I shared 30 only.
Yay for your bundle Chap! My stuff isn't that good, I guess.

Your stuff is fine - it's just that I'm a niche seller and for some reason that seems to attract multiples. It's the same way on eBay. Also I have really cheap stuff to mix in and that helps.

I have a ton of cheap stuff too. Amazing how someone will buy just one kid item, and not add 2 more cheap ones to get 30% off the whole order.

I've had that happen, too - yet they'll offer $3 on something!
