Trying to figure out how to get the most bang for my buck, sharing-wise. At first I was working to increase my followers, thinking to follow more people so they would follow me.
Then I realized that didn't always happen so I began looking for others who followed a lot of people so they would follow me also so my stuff would be seen by them. But that's only adding one person at a time seeing my items (and by seeing my items, I know that only means if they happen to see it when it goes through their feed or if they happen to search on something my item would fit).
So now I am thinking that since what I actually care about is my stuff being seen by the most people possible, I should be more concerned with the number of shares someone is doing. If they [happen to] share my item, then it is "seen" by all of their followers, which is more than the one person I reach when they follow me but don't share my items.
Basically what I am thinking is that if they are not actively sharing, the number of their followers is of no value to me. Would you agree with that? Or am I leaving something out of the equation?
Thanks!

I concentrate on sharing my own items, because self-shares move them to the top of the feed whereas other shares don't. Following/sharing others is secondary but I make sure I do it when I share my own stuff - maybe go back a few hours or something. I don't break it down more than that, though if I see someone with a lot of followers/shares I follow a couple of screens of people who follow them. I also go through my followers once a day and follow back a bunch.
Basically, to me self-sharing is the most effective.

Because you come up sooner in search when someone searches for something that matches your listing? It makes no difference whether they are following you or not--you come up in the same place regardless? Sharing only affects the feed if someone is looking at the feed?

I recall watching a video of this and it was quite eye opening. Basically, if you share something, it will come up top of the brand for this item. But it needs to be shared frequently, because in an hour it will be buried in all the other shares for this brand. If someone else shares your item, it just shares to THEIR followers - so feed versus followers (this is what I got - kat or @makinmagic - if I'm wrong please check in). But also, if you use good SEO, your item will be more likely to come up in general search (not feed).

I really don't know how it all works, but when I first started, I used my cell and clicked on the Posh Ambassadors. It was easy to just click on all of them to follow.
I just can't keep up with the followers and it takes over an hour to follow and share at least one of their items going back 24 hours at a time. Guess that I should just follow back, and not share.
During my meals, I share my items to my followers...and that is more than 2 meals worth of time.

You probably have a lot more activity than I do. It takes me about 20 minutes to share my items, share those who share my stuff (I just do a couple items each) in the past few hours and then share from the feed. Every couple of days I go through my followers and follow them back. I do this three times a day - even then it feels like I spend a lot of time. If I'm away with a bit of slack time I share and then follow some new people and posh ambassadors.

I have over 600 items showing but most are sold and I only have about 150 to share - big reason why it doesn't take me long. I'm listing more stuff on there almost every day, though.

You are selling more than I am, although I did mail 2 Posh today.
