I began asking a gazillion questions at the end of May. Here it is the end of August, and although I learned a lot (thanks again to all for your support!) and have been applying it reasonably well, I am pretty disappointed with my results so far. I just made my first transfer to my checking account from PM, and it was $242. I have not purchased anything out of my sales funds. My first purchase was actually tonight, which I paid for through paypal. I purchased a pair of Fortnite socks for my DGS--$7, not a bad price, except I totally forgot that shipping would be $6.79! I did get a $5 credit, though, so it offset it for the most part. Am looking at Star Wars socks also (for Christmas) but may look on ebay to avoid the shipping cost! So $242 for 3 months of effort--not impressed! I only have 104 listings, but I've taken down maybe 20-25 that sold on ebay. Most of my PM listings were summer items as I concentrated on them but even that didn't help. I have 12,235 followers and have shared 7,246 times so I don't think I'm slacking there too much. I share my own closet most days (as you know, that doesn't show up in the # of shares figure), and when I'm at home working, I share it 2-3 times per day. I won't give up just yet. Now that the grandkids are back in school, I will be working more and want to hit fall and winter listings really, really hard in the next 30 days. If my next 90 days are just as dismal, I will probably hang it up though.

I always look at it as it's $242 more than you had if you didn't do it. I mean $80 a month buys gas, groceries, etc. Keep it up. I have faith (((somany)))

I don’t have any advice because I sell on the opposite end of the spectrum. I will cross-post a few things from eBay but most everything I have on Poshmark has a flaw or was part of a Stuff a Bag, Apt 9, Old Navy, etc., or things given to me. Since you have mostly new, I understand you have less wiggle room. I just downloaded my 3 month report. I have about 180 active listings. I sold $636 so after their fee $475. A lot of my sales are bundles. I don’t work as much as I should on it. Listing is ridiculously easy so to average $10/sale I don’t mind. I use USPS packaging so that keeps cost down too. Do you use Sellhound to see what sells better there or cross-post everything?

I average about $500/mo (take home) on Posh - it's all stuff that hasn't sold on ebay in a month or two, and at that point I cross-list it, same with Etsy, so basically I don't invest anything in Posh itself, so it's all money to the good and I look at it that way. That's $$$ that you didn't have before.
Right now I'm down to about 150 available items. I don't sell trendy 'poshable' stuff - I don't know or understand what that would be, TBH, as don't understand mainstream fashion - it looks all the same to me. I just stick stuff up there, share a lot and hope for the best. But I do look at it as 'all gravy' - save for the pain in the arse sharing a ton of stuff. Then again - I've had stuff sell on Posh in a day that has just sat on eBay and I need the money.

I have 750 ish listings and have been doing okay...sometimes one sale a day, which is how I have been doing on eBay lately. Listing is so easy that I just plug away, and consider anything a bonus. And like I mentioned before, brands that I have never picked up before...the cheap mart brands that I pick up at St. Vins for 50 cents, have been selling on Posh!
When I only had about 100 items listed, I didn't sell much at all. If you have misc stuff to list, Mercari is another option.
Since I have a lot of my grandson's clothing items to sell, I price them at about $10 and do sell those. I also pick up certain kid's brands and always sell a few kid's items a week...on all sites, really.
I'll pop over to your store now and do some sharing. I have 45,000 followers.

I'd love to average one sale a day! Last winter I was going gangbusters but its settled out to pretty slow - 4-5 sales a week, sometims only a few, but as I say, I'm running out of items. A bundle here and there. It may pick up again in winter. I'm having a $10 sale now but few nibbles.

I have been on Posh for a year and I think that I only sold one bundle.

Last fall/winter I sold bundle after bundle, so I'm hoping to get rid of my last heavy vintage there this winter.

I was doing well until June but summer slammed on the brakes sales-wises. Tho to be honest I've slacked all summer; can't seem to give more than a smidge of a s___ about selling tho I'm anxious to get back at it now that it's cooled off and Fall is in the air.
I just sold my 2nd ever bundle over the weekend; I'd be the queen of 'one-dles' if I made each person an offer on that one item. But like Jumbo Shrimp, bundles of one just sorta get on my nerves tho, so I mostly ignore 'em.
And WOW Posh is definitely so much easier to list on than eBay. I just did my first cross-listing yesterday... it was slow going slogging thru all the IS that are totally unrelated to the item being listed. They should work on that. Yeah, right.

I may be wrong as I've only spent one summer (this one) selling on Posh, but I think the flat rate shipping works against sales of light frequently inexpensive summer clothing - I know if I had a lot more, there would be more to choose from with bundles so I wouldn't get all of these onedles (I gave up offering on those, too) - apparently the bundle option and some other option are really close on the mobile app - I don't shop on the mobile app so I don't know, but I DO know that direct sharing and general share is really close and looking at my stats, I've accidentally done direct shares 11 times! None of which I meant to do. My sales really slowed down, particularly after state tax was instituted. But I need to get more stuff up there - sharing and sharing the same old stuff is getting old.

I agree but am amazed at how many 3 ounce baby items that I sell with the $6.79 Pr rate. I have a ton of cheap kid's items for sale, but never a bundle.

I have a regular buyer on eBay who I am certain gets together with her office mates at her law office (the boxes are directed there) and buy from me so they can get combined shipping. I don't know why more poshers don't do that.

I've been selling for 3 months. Finally made Posh Ambassador. Lots of lowballers. I sold my first item June 29. $357 in sales so far. Nothing less than $15. $285.60 netted. I did turn away a few offers including a very good offer and closed a couple of weeks during the summer for vacation. $100 per month is pretty minimal and definitely not worth the time and effort I have put in. eBay is more autopilot. I did sell a couple of things that had been on eBay for a few months and were not moving. It's not very friendly to sort through tasks on Poshmark. I missed a request for additional measurements today.

Posh is a lot of work.

Unless I’m missing something I don’t see how that time could be replaced on social media. I don’t have a business Facebook or tumblr but I don’t get as many clicks to Poshmark from Instagram as I do to eBay.

I started giving poshmark another try in July. The first time I sold in poshmark, it didn’t work for me at all. Just too time consuming. This time I did it a bit differently. I spend about ten minutes a day sharing my own items, following some people and sending offers to likers. I don’t share other people’s stuff anymore. I don’t care if they share my stuff or not, I haven’t seen any benefits to sharing other people’s items. I know it’s posh etiquette, but this is business for me and I don’t have time for it. I also don’t strive to be an ambassador, I also don’t see any benefit in that. So far, since July, my payout was around 750, with only around 150 items (double listed on eBay). Not that much, but a good addition to my eBay income. I will definitely try to build that up.

I am happy with Posh, and have been selling the super skinny jeans and items that have sat for years on eBay. I share and follow during my meals and appointments, so it isn't really a waste of time. I don't do IG, Twitter, Pinterest or Tumbler. It think that takes too much time to get followers.

my Posh id is 1eclecticstyles. I’ll share it in the other thread.
I have it set to automatically share on Pinterest, don’t know if that’s doing anything- I don’t maintain my Pinterest account. Once in a while I get notifications of people repinning my items. I have a Facebook page for my eBay account, but I don’t feel that it made any difference.

EBays video yesterday was focused on Social Media. I’ll re-watch later because I wasn’t really paying attention. I keep putting off a Facebook page because I want to have some great stuff to offer when I put it out there. It seems my sales go to paying bills instead of inventory lately.

I was trying to say that the social media aspect of Posh is mainly on Posh's internal site, vs using the same amount of time on FB, Instagram, etc for ones eBay store.

I'm finding Posh far too much of a time suck for what it's yielding anymore - I made loads of money earlier - if it's still slow this winter I'll probably stop bothering with it, though I list stuff on there that I can't get rid of on eBay or Etsy, so I don't invest anything monetarily in it, but the time - blech.

I cut back a lot on my time there. I do about 15 minutes a day when I don’t list. I am in a couple Facebook groups with Poshmark sellers that have a lot of listings and use the 30 minute method. You can google it and see if it works for you. I haven’t tried it.

I'm late to this thread. I dupe a lot of my ebay listings on Poshmark. I do think I have quite a few crossover buyers--they see it on Posh & then buy on ebay to avoid the high shipping costs. I often get unsolicited offers on ebay, same crowd I think crossing over. That alone makes staying on Posh worth it to me, as ebay on its own has been very very slow. Posh certainly picks up the slack for me, though total sales for both still down a bit from last year.

It does get crazy, though, when I lower the price on some sites for the offers and promos. And my one item that is cross-posted has 3 different prices, or 5 if I list them on all sites.

I have been really falling off on the sharing, and it DOES make a difference! BTW, anyone selling in home dec, be careful of ceramics and molded glass, especially if it's older, as we get into the cold weather. I shipped a ceramic item to someone in Florida and it arrived broken. I had packed it extremely securely (would easily survive a 5' drop) and I think temperature extremes affected it (it can break glass, I've had this happen before and talked with a glass artist about it).
