Just got this email... We also have some LUXE updates to share:
-- Now, you can order your own LUXE labels! If you’re getting this email, you’re on our super seller list, and are already approved. Just navigate to thredup.com/cleanout to order a LUXE kit and get started!
-- For all Clean Out Kits, we've introduced a policy wherein items are only paid out if the buyer does not return the item within our 14-day return window. We'll inspect all returned items upon receipt to make sure that they're in the same condition that they were in when we sent them out. Additionally, all final sale items (such as handbags) will be paid out as before.
-- Starting with Clean Out Kits received in May, we won’t be accepting any more jewelry through thredUP. Inventory currently listed on the site will not be impacted.
-- We've updated our LUXE brand list here! We’ve added a few and removed a few due to supply levels and what we’ve seen to be most successful. As always, you’re free to send women's and kids' items in your LUXE kit, but only items from these brands are eligible for the LUXE booster payouts, and qualify you for continued access to LUXE bags.

I am leery of the return payout. Please correct me if I am interpreting this wrong.
Buy purchases and pays. TU ships. Buyer gets 14 days to decide if they like it or not. If it is not returned, TU pays the seller. If they buyer returns it, TU can decide if it is as described or not and either pay you or return it to you.
HUGE can of worms.

Yep. I am really worried about condition. If THREDUP causes staining or loses a tag, or pops a button. Who is to say who caused the flaw? And if they get it back flawed, do they send it to YOU? Relist with the flaw at a lower price? This is a mess! I hate this new policy. It is taking FOREVER to be paid out. Probably close to a month. But the upfront payouts are so low... I wish I had another option.

I'm wondering if a lengthly holding period on funds payout is even legal in some states. How do buyers pay on ThredUp?

Purchase on ThredUp is the same as any other site.

I should have phrased the question differently. Does ThredUp offer the payment processing service themselves (like AMZ & Etsy) or is it third party (like eBay currently).
