This old dog is going to have to learn a new program. My old Windows XP Dell antique has passed away. I used it for Lotus Organizer. Had my passwords in it. Also used it for Kodak Easyshare software which I used for editing photos. Very basic programs.
The computer has gone on to the graveyard. I was able to get my files off the drive. No biggee as my photos were on my Windows 10 machine because I upload from it.
But I needed my passwords. Of course my brother the geek tells my to download virtual box and install XP on the windows 10 machine. I got to the point of trying to get XP on it. I needed him to be closer.
So, I checked eBay, marketplace, Amazon, etc. Had a possible on Craigslist but the seller was too slow to respond. Bought an ancient Dell laptop on Amazon and I am now back up and running an antique. Got my passwords and put them elsewhere. I guess I should use a password keeper app. Have to find my Easyshare disk.
I guess I should spend my upcoming days off learning Elements. We have Lynda at work so I can learn that way or by YouTube.

This will make you feel like much less of an "old dog"... I literally keep my passwords in a little Rolodex in my desk drawer! I use code words, so that my notes are useless to anybody who doesn't know my favorite color, bank pin, alarm code, and various weird factoids about my relatives. Probably not the perfect plan, but it works for me.

My passwords are on several scraps of notepads here by my computer. I need to get them all together on one pad. Maybe tomorrow.
I have no code words. I am confused enough as it it.

LOL. I checked that pwnd website or whatever - after my Macys account was hacked. Found out one of my early passwords was hacked. So I had to go back and change a bunch of passwords. Hence I needed an udated list.
Of course, after tearing the house apart, I found my folder with the current XP software in it, on my second desk by the old system. On the left side. I had it in my mind that I had the software in my file cabinet. So now I can rest. I have Easyshare set up.

I sold my old XP machine not 8 months ago - people do NOT want to let go of that OS, and I thoroughly understand why. It's one of the best Microsoft ever came out with since Windows 4.1 net. Rock solid stable and perfect for running enterprise and proprietary software that needs that kind of support. I was sorry to give mine up, but I had no more use for it since there is no longer support (if you're using it as a 'dumb' terminal to do image editing, writing, etc., though, it's prefect fine).

I have all the log-ins and passwords to everything in a tiny little spiral notebook. I won't store any log-ins/passwords on any of our computers. A few years ago for Christmas they gave me a little gadget that is not attached to the internet for storage of all our log-ins and passwords. It's about the size of a hand-held calculator - you program your access info into it and it's battery operated or plug-in. It's still sitting there in the box, my little notebook is a lot easier.

Hey, old dog, this old bat has been running XP on Virtual Box for years (although I have it running in linux, not windows 10), so if you ever need any help with it, give a holler. It's a VERY easy setup and runs perfectly.
