Ha, I keep writing ambadassador by mistake! But just accepted the terms thingie... that's ALL the clicking I'm gonna do today- sorta blew out my right hand following & sharing once I got close to the magic number. Maybe I'll dig out my mouse and try that later.
One month later I can honestly say "I LOVE selling on Posh", and will shop there for myself this spring. The whole system just makes sense to me now. I've had 2- 4 star reviews that aren't tragic slams to my selling account, made decent money, don't worry about shipping at all, and best of all my stress level has greatly reduced. My only regret is waiting so long to try the venue. I do NOT MISS selling clothing on eBay, at all.
Again, thanks everyone for the help & encouragement!

Congratulations! You can claim diplomatic immunity now lol (that's what the DH said when I got to ambassador) - you have great stuff and I see have sold a bunch.

Thanks Chap! Ha, I'd rather pass on immunity if I could have a housekeeping service instead! I'm surprised at how many sales I've made in a short time but I'm more open to offers than I used to be. It helps that Posh shows you your take-home on offers; their transparency is a breath of fresh air. I keep gushing about how much I like them and realize that no venue is perfect 100% of the time. But it's working for me for now (knock on wood) and I'm quite satisfied with 'em.

I'm shifting more and more of my clothing to Posh, but TBH, not sure if the amount of work I have to do is proving worth it. OTOH, it's pretty pain-free (I've only had one case opened (my mistake) and one complaint and I've sold about 200+ items. It's important to me to minimize the amount of work I have to do there, though, as it's not breaking down to great hourly and is supposed to be just a hobby business for me - OTOH, the share/follow is pretty mindless and I can listen to audiobooks, lectures, etc. I also got 'posh hand' from the sharing lol. My goal is to get to 50,000 followers when I think sales will even out.

For me, Posh was a time suck with no sales. Guess my demographic doesn't shop on Posh.
Or Mercari.
Glad it's working for you though!

Same here - sometimes I wonder if I should even bother sharing during the week, but I try to run through my closet three times a day, do some follows and shares for others. I'm trying to minimize it to 2 hours a day, and that includes listing. I'm going to clear out a bunch of my closet, though - I asked around other Poshers and many keep everything going all year, but I'm really more a seasonal seller - get tired of looking at that old stuff after about a billion shares. I've sold out almost half my closet so I don't have to share that stuff, but all the winter stuff I think is a waste of time at this stage of the game. I might keep one or two coats and some light jackets up and a couple of sweaters, and that's it, and this should make things more efficient. I can add the stuff back in August.

I stopped sharing the off season stuff and let it sink to the bottom of the page. If they're still there in the fall, I'll start sharing them again

That's probably a good way to 'store' them - when the season rolls round again, I'll change them into completely new listings.

I've noticed mostly evening and overnight sales on those days too. So people may be just relaxing on the weekends, browsing through Poshmark.

Congrats on ambassador. Relisting older items is a must. As an listing ages, each share goes to fewer and fewer feeds. Ex. Created- 100% followers, three weeks- 75% followers, three months - 10% followers, etc. The exact items and percentages are unknown, but they do throttle old listings. To quickly tell the age of a listing there, right click a photo. The address bar will show a link like this. di2ponv0v5otw.cloudfront.net/posts/2018/10/24/5bd0e5fc84438ae6bd0b9ec8/m_5bd0e60b45c8b30c3c46859b.jpegThis listing was created on 10/24/2018.

So happy it's working out well for you! Posh is great, you just have to stick with it. I haven't listed or shared much in the last 2 weeks and my sales have really slowed. The good news is it's easier to see results when you up your efforts than trying to decipher Ebay's Cassini hoodoo witchcraft.

Where are you finding how old the photo is? When I right click on any of my photos, I get a drop down menu that has: "Open Link in new tab", "Open link in new window," "Bookmark this link", etc. Do I have to click on something in the drop down menu?

Im sorry. On mobile, it shows the link text. The desktop just shows the photo. I didn’t realize formatting would be different. If you right click on the photo and open in a new window (or tab), the url will show the date listed. It’s the listing age, not the photo age. I created an image with the link, but if it’s not clear, I’ll be happy to make one on a PC.

Thanks for that info Elm961, and welcome to the boards! I had no idea about listings getting stale but it does make sense. In that case, letting out of season sink to the bottom probably won't do the trick but would sorta archive the listing to cut & paste the description for a re-listing when more appropriate season-wise.
"The good news is it's easier to see results when you up your efforts than trying to decipher Ebay's Cassini hoodoo witchcraft." Exactly what I was thinking as I was clicking like a fiend, Ahrn " It ain't Cassini OR eBay and that works for me. My hand's rested up now; I'll get back to listing again tomorrow.

I have an Android, does that make a difference? How do you right click on the phone?
What am I doing wrong? (You're talking to a non-techie! lol)
HOLY CARP! I figured it out! On the PC, I clicked on the photo, then right clicked. Selected "View Image" and got the date in the URL. Thank you so much for posting this!
And Welcome to the board! So glad to have you here!

@elm691 - for seasonal sellers, what do you think about just letting the old stuff drift to the bottom, not bothering with it (a sort of 'archive), then relisting it in season or later on? Or should it be removed completely and then relisted when the season rolls around again?

Or should it be removed completely and then relisted when the season rolls around again? I would leave it, then relist. Since listing is free, I don’t see any reason to pull it. This is all anecdotal, but I feel the emphasis on sharing and followers there is slightly oversold. Buyers still find items by searching for “oversized free people sweater ” as they would on eBay. I’ve had many items sell that haven’t been shared in over a month. When you share an item, it ends up on your followers main page (feed). This feed, ‘just in’ and google shopping will be the only areas altered with the age of a listing. Many of my sales are to buyers not ‘following’ me, which suggests they found it by either the brand specific feed or a direct search. Strong titles are just as important there and I think you have that down.

@elm691 - thank you! That's less work for me. Part of it for me is all the sharing gets to me - if I need to do it, I will, but I'd be just as happy to keep my closet fresh and just share 150 items instead of 300, half being off season. I'm pretty much a definite seasonal seller (I tried having everything running all the time on my various websites and it was just bleh - I was tired at looking at the old stuff and was Just as happy to lag it over one more year.
I just sold a jacket on Posh that had been there since I started in September - but it was an Anne Fontaine steampunk type corset jacket - that could have come up in google search as much as anything (I notice Posh comes up a lot in google search, which is why I'm so careful to try to pack my titles and descriptions - I agree completely with you on this).
