I sold a dress Feb 18th and just noticed on 3/22 the buyer was refunded and Tradesy took back the money.
No notice from Tradesy that there was a potential problem and the dress was not returned to me.
And now I can't find an email address for them (but scrounged up a phone number).
I was doing ok there-now of course I'm concerned about a few pricey items I sold:(

I think for items over $50 Tradesy just refunds the seller and resells the item on their own. They used to do it for items under $50 (I was once startled to see a pair of DKNY silk pants with obviously MY photos in a listing there) - I had no notice that they did this with these pants until I found out.

Wait so they pull the money from your account and refund the buyer with no notice to you and just resell the item themselves. Then I assume they repay you the money when the item sells again correct?

You have neither the money nor the item?

I finally found an email address and contacted them.
They took the money back from my current pending balance with them and I have no item.
The dress was delivered on 2/22-they refunded her on 3/22. According to the TOS-there's a four day window for buyers to obtain a return authorization. I have a feeling the buyer trashed the dress to facilitate a return:(
I wonder how long it will take Tradesy to respond................

So they replied quickly: Thank you for taking the time to write in. I'm so sorry for the confusion with your J Brand Gray Charlize Reversible Short Casual Dress sale.
At this time it is not Tradesy policy to reach out or notify sellers regarding returns, since Tradesy handles all returns. I am so sorry the process was so lengthy in this case. I can understand why you're upset since your item was sold and shipped back in Feb, almost a month ago and the return is just now being resolved.
"I was able to have a look at the return process for this item and I see that the buyer did make their return within the given time frame. The dress was delivered on Feb. 22. The return was requested on Feb. 25th, it was shipped on Feb. 28th and checked in on Mar. 2nd.
As with any return, Tradesy conducts a multi-step inspection process for all returns - no matter the return reason. We try to get through this as quickly as possible, but depending on the workflow, it may take longer at times.
After a thorough review, we found the item to be misrepresented due to the following reasons:
There is more wear than disclosed. Pilling present throughout the fabric. Brand tag is loose and discolored."
My truncated reply: The dress was barely worn with disclosed minor friction wear on one shoulder (from a handbag) Tag was loose because it's a reversible dress (and it was not discolored) pilling was not present. I'm guessing the buyer didn't like the price she paid even though it was well below the recommendation with a original retail of $450 (it sold for $108 with shipping).
ETA: I sold another item on the site today and I'm probably not shipping. Now I'm concerned about other pending items.

So, what about the money they grabbed from you? You don't get the dress back plus they keep your money?
Doesn't sound like a fair plan to me.

I once had a bracelet sent back by a buyer who thought it showed more wear than I stated. Tradesy found some discoloring INSIDE the bracelet and so found for her (meaning that she could return the item and they would not resell it). As I recall, they sent me back the bracelet because I subsequently sold it, on eBay I think. Did you ask if they were going to send your dress back to you?

"Checked in" where? WTH has the dress?

Another Inquiring Mind wanting to know.
It is not true unless there is follow-up.

They send the dress back to Tradesy and they determine if the SNAD is verified. They also decide at that time whether they will put the item up for resale or return it to the seller. If they put it up, they let you keep your money. If not, they take the money back. The buyer gets Tradesy credit as a refund, I believe.

If they took the money from Sue's account, then they should have returned the garment to her.

Absolutely. Sue should contact them and ask if it's on its way back.
