I have two crystals, one is an agate geode and the other is purple quartz. Would love any info on how to describe these!

The first one looks like amethyst.

Do I need to test to see if it's real amethyst? (and if so, how?) Or is it ok to put amethyst in the listing title?

Amethyst is purple quartz.
That looks like amethyst geodes I've seen.

Thanks! (I guess I can trust the person with the gemstone in her name!

Quartz that is purple is amethyst by definition.
Describe the geode as hollow, lined with solid blue-gray quartz & small, white quartz crystals.
Value is enhanced if you know location of any mineral specimen.

Thanks for the tips jandsknight . I don't know where these are from (I'm helping a friend clear out her mother's estate, she doesn't know how old they are or where they're from). Are there any other keywords I should use? Any idea on prices?

You could say something about the condition of the amethyst crystals, like how cracked or scratched they are. The curvature of the non-crystalline side implies they were either part of a large geode that was cracked apart or they lined a large vug or opening in a cave and were broken out of that.
You need to tell if the cut edge of the geode has been polished or not. The geode was cut open with a diamond encrusted circular saw blade. If you put water on that cut edge and it gets shinier and/or darker, it has not been polished.
For price I'd just check what similar specimens are selling for. I doubt either is very valuable, maybe $5 before shipping.
