I had the most ridiculous thing happen - I sold a coat on Poshmark that I had had listed on eBay for three years - listed on Poshmark for a few weeks. I took an offer on it, and when I could get to eBay to cancel the listing, found it had sold! I feel so stupid - I had to cancel one of the orders and opted to do it on Poshmark, and offered the buyer double credit for anything else in my store.
Poshmark says it causes "huge inconvenience" to the buyer to cancel and that's got me all nervous now - I'm so new there. The chances of that coat selling in two places was about .00000001%, I swear.
What are the ramifications - I've had a few buyers cancel on me, BTW, and I don't think anything one way or another about it.

There’s no ramifications. Maybe the buyer will get pissed but that’s it. If you didn’t already cancel and they want something else, just use that label and mark the ones they choose as NFS or delete if no deal was made in those comments that could protect you later.

Just a note. When you negotiate things like this, it’s best to discuss it on the item, not on their Meet the Posher. People typically don’t read comments on sold things. If you have positive stuff like following up on a complimentary love note, do it on their MTP or tag them on your own MTP.

OK, thank you. I felt so stupid and she was really nice. That's good to know. I did it on the MTP - didn't think about using the item. Oh, well - they buy only and have little activity and I was very compensatory, but I'll remember that in future - that's a good idea!

I haven't had it happen myself (you know, cause I am so awesome and responsible), but many people had on Facebook groups about Poshmark. Nothing will happen. On ebay, however, you will have a ding in your defects and a possible negative. It did happen to me twice on Tradesy though.

Yeah - a big reason to take my chances and just cancel on Poshmark. I'm very good about checking each thing - I don't know how this got away from me save I'd almost forgot I even had the danged coat! If the eBay buyer returns it I think the Posh buyer may still want it. She was really nice about it, but I apologised, explained and offered some kind of extra recompense - from my googling around it appears that not all Posh sellers do that. I always feel so honoured when people buy my items, even after all these years.
