Does anyone have this new feature? I’m not seeing it in mine, so I was wondering if anyone here has it yet.

Interesting, I hadn't heard about this feature yet.

It’s new, within the past few days. I have so many watchers on some things and I’d like to send a screaming deal and if there’s no takers, I can end or sell similar. I know most watchers aren’t buyers, but I still get that little bit of hope when I am deciding to re-list or re-donate.

I don't pay attention to watchers save when deciding to either relist or sell similar - I don't have very many.

I don't pay attention to watchers save when deciding to either relist or sell similar - I don't have very many. Really? I always pay attention to them in the first day or so of listing. I have my active listings sorted by newly listed and after I do my shipping every night I scroll down the screen to see watch and view activity. To see them is like a condescending pat on the shoulder that I'm not invisible.

It's because I have so few that I don't pay much attention. If I have 6 on an item, that's huge. Usually it's 0 or periodically 1 or 2. Most of the time 0. Plus, I've never seen a correlation between watching and buying, so if I have the indexing view after I list, that's all I pay attention to.

Exactly why I think I will like this feature. I'm not sure how long the offer to watcher is good for. I hope it's 24 hours, that way I can offer my bottom happy price to them in case there's a buyer in there and it still be in the 14 days to markdown queue.
Ever sell Torrid? Talk about non-buying watchers. I bet I could have a current NWT for 99 cents w/free shipping and it would have ten watchers before someone buys it.

I pay attention to views, but not really to watchers. Often the watchers are other sellers or cheap azz buyers waiting for a huge markdown.

I had the option to add promotions at the bottom of the SYI a few days ago then it disappeared. I’m happy to say it’s back this afternoon. I hope they keep it there.

I pay attention to views, but not really to watchers. Often the watchers are other sellers or cheap azz buyers waiting for a huge markdown. I had one woman watch a top (out of season) I had listed for two months waiting for me to mark it down $2. I guess one can depend on poor sell-through on eBay. Then it sold for full price to someone else as soon as fall rolled around. Another kept demanding a lower 'best offer' on another top she had been watching in my cheap store. She said "I will pay no more than _________" even after I knocked some off an already cheap price. She had been watching it, she had been looking through my unsolds and told me it had already been listed twice and hadn't sold yet! I really don't need to be offering bargains to people like this. ETA: I already have loads of sales - if people are watching hoping it goes on sale, then they'll have an opportunity if they still want the item. I don't do wimpy 5% off sales, either, they're usually 20-25% off clothing and 15% off computer equipment/sports equipment, so they get a decent discount - frequently those sell without watchers at all, though.

They sound awful. If I get the feature I’m going to definitely give it a try. I don’t care what their reason for watching is. If they accept my offer, I’ll happily take their money.

I think the option is a good deal. It will be interesting to see if the watchers end up being buyers or not.

You might get the ones just hoping for a sale, so that preempts the 14-day sale thing. I added above that I do a lot of discount sales so there really isn't any need to hang around waiting for it to get to $5 or whatever. If I didn't do so many sales then the feature might be useful, but those watchers that sit and stare at something I have for $12 - um?
I had one on my cheap site say she would "take a chance" at something I had for sale for $4. I have someone else spending presumably $7.50 to return a jacket because she found one at 'a better price' - that was $6.50 cheaper than mine. Maybe math isn't her strong suit.

I'd be interested in that data since I have stuff lapse with 5-6 watchers through two 30-day relists so it's hard to say - as I say, I don't have many watchers. It'll be funny to see how many are sellers who get that offer!

I get watchers on most everything and I think it’s because I sell such common items. A lot of sellers in groups mention they will watch a similar active listing when shopping for quick reference.
Poshmark recently added a similar feature to send private discount offers to likers/heart-givers that must include a shipping discount.
In a PM group I’m in, so many members were complaining that they aren’t going to heart anything they aren’t going to buy anymore because they are sick of all the notifications.

Yeah - Etsy is going crazy with notifications and it's starting to really irritate people. Some sites you can't even visit without their chasing after you with emails after you leave, throwing discounts at you and begging you to buy. At least with eBay, Etsy and Poshmark the individual initiates the contact. These other sites, it's just creepy and stalkerish.

I like this feature as I do a lot of promoted listings. Which can pose its own dilemma. If you send out an offer and your item has 10 watchers - who many of those watchers got to your item via promoted listing? You don't. And if one of those 10 people got to your listing via promoted listing you will be charged the PL fee, which you won't know about until you get charged for it. I'm working with eBay on this when it comes to BOs and PL.

That’s a good point. I have most my PL all the way to the lowest amount now that I added BO, but I’m always changing it up and can see myself making mistakes.

I don't have it either. One of the comments from a seller on the eBay for Business video said she has it next to her listings that have watchers.

I will say though, I am excited for this to roll out and be available to me. I have watchers on a lot of my items so I wouldn't mind shooting out a BO on them before putting things on sale.
Also excited for when the new BIN feature goes out to all sellers and able to receive an offer before your item is even listed.

A pre-sale BO for watchers is an attractive feature, but I've been pondering this. I'm always willing to try something once (or twice), but I don't think I'm the type of seller who will be able to use this effectively - those who have more popular items and are generally already more successful will probably see their success increase with this. Unfortunately, I'm not in this group.
I have so few watchers that the whole idea is academic, and these watchers sit through sales so I doubt a BO is going to budge them unless the 'offer' is ridiculously low. Right now I have 11 watchers on an Alembika tunic I'm sacrificing for $24 on sale (need the money) - no one will budge, a best offer isn't going to make them because I'm not taking less, I can consign it instead. I have possibly 20 items out of 400 or so with more than 1 watcher and maybe another 40 with one watcher, the rest have none. I don't do that well with Best Offer on my stuff, either, might get one nibble a week even with hundreds on BO. So far sales have been my best option.
What I do utilize is the offer feature in ASQ, though, kind of a reverse of this new feature.
I'll be curious to see how folks do with this.
What is that BIN for an offer before the item is even listed? That seems a little surreal to me.

As with any feature, it may not work for everyone. You always have to have desirable items for the right buyers or no matter what you do, you won't get a sale. It will work well for most and the best part - no harm no foul, right? Buyers don't have to accept and your item is still listed just as it always was.
New BIN feature was discussed at Open (it's on the eBay Open general discussions video with Mohan Patt). Essentially - this will work with catalog items. Maybe items with a SKU? I need to go back and watch it again. If a buyer finds an item they want and the seller has best offer - the buyer can blast a best offer and it goes to all sellers with that item. First seller to accept gets the sale. If you're in the middle of listing that item (and not yet launched) the seller can get the notification that there is an offer and they can take that buyers offer before they even list the item. I think I remember they're looking at Q1 or Q2. I'm sure there will be a beta group and things may change before final announcements are made.

OK, kind of like real time bargaining.
I get frustrated because I like trying anything new that comes down the pike, but my offerings often don't fit the profile that various new features will work for, probably because the site is moving to commodities/NWT/NIB catalogable items. OTOH, the new features are an alternative to auctions which don't work well with most commodities, by providing more buyer engagement.
ETA: Since my sales remain steady (as long as I keep listing) my buyers seem to just find what they want in my store and buy it, rather than watching it. Probably due to the nature of many of my offerings.

I'd MUCH rather have people just buy my stuff than watch it and wait for me to send an offer or for my items to rack up viewers. That would be an absolute dream!

I don't see any features but I did get two emails today from eBay.
First time I've received these - one telling me that some items were in buyers' carts and if I lowered the price eBay would email the buyer that the deal just got better. So I did on several.
The other email showed items on watch lists, and said the same thing about lower price/email. I lowered a few (removing free shipping of course). Others were new fall listings and I'm not ready to lower prices on something this early in the season.
It will be interesting to see if any of the items sell or not.

I got those same two emails. It must have been some kind of mass mailing because I have very few watchers on my few listings and doubt anybody has something of mine in their cart.

I remember they sent those emails out months ago to sellers. Not sure if it's just a rolling email or if it's random or what. I just know they've been happening for a couple of months now. And I don't know what determines what sellers receive them. I never get them. But I almost always have a sale or promo going on so maybe that's why?

I get them once in a while too. I don't use those as a reason to lower the price though. I have no way to know why it's in a cart or being watched so unless it's been listed a couple weeks it's not getting lowered.
Right now the Offer to Watchers seems to be available only to smaller sellers or sellers that do not use the hub.
