Received this message on a pair of Stuart Weitzman loafers I have listed on Tradesy -
Hi! The shoes you have for sale would be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for a film I am creating for a film class I am taking in college. I am creating a "woman power" film in praise for women becoming more powerful figures, including CEO's, etc. My angle on showing this "woman power" is by showing a bunch of photos and clips of women's shoes flooring the gas pedal of a car. To me, it shows that woman have absolutely no fear and can take on anything. It shows power! I was wondering if you'd like to help with this project by just taking some digital pictures or clips of those shoes flooring the gas pedal, with the engine off, obviously (no actual driving). I know it's unusual, (believe me, but it's an art class!) but you would be contributing to the advancement of women through my film! Although I am initially asking for free help, I could pay a small fee for your trouble. Men are always shown in the aggressor role, but that's going to change in my film! Let me know, and thanks so much!!! Britt
I'll give her points for originality, but that's a no for me. 🙄

She can buy the shoes and take her own pics.

She's asking you to do an off eBay transaction (paying for something that is not offered in the listing). If eBay bots pick it up, you'll get a naughty warning.
Stupid, I know.
I would respond:
I respect what you're doing, but I cannot accommodate your request. Thank you.

This is a Tradsey transaction not ebay.

That's hilarious - I'd feel like writing back and saying "You get an A for originality."

I have heard about that exact email. It is a fetish and that is why they want pictures, lol. No art project, sexual project.

It's a fetish; it's called pedal pumping IIRC. You can make good $$ doing it :-)
ETA: I like their story though :-)

Yup, some guy is going to rev his own engine to them. I doubt that's even a female emailing you...

He needs to buy the shoes, cram his own feet into them and let his buddy take a video whilst he pumps the gas. Or bribe one of his women friends to do it (I would, I couldn't care less about somebody's weird, harmless fetish lol, but he'd have to pay me).
But that email is hilarious.
I'd be curious as to how many sellers of shoes he sent that to?

Geez, if it pays well I'd cram my tootsies into a pair of heels and give 'em a show. We have 7 vehicles here- for extra $$ they could choose their car! Sounds a lot easier than the stinky shoe racket :-)

That's a new one on me too, obviously. All the while reading it, I kept thinking "what a stupid idea."

I'd say "what next?" but someone would answer me with something even more weird and outrageous. What a strange world.

In a biography of Vivienne Westwood there was an account of one of her customers who always looked on the verge of apoplexy - red faced, sweating, barely able to breathe. Turns out that under his collar, he wore a tight band around his neck that half-strangled him - he got off on it.

I think I'll go take a shower now & cleanse myself of this entire thread.

For some reason I have a horrible story for every occasion. Some kind of weird talent, I guess.
