I showed it to DH real quick before work, posted it to his FB timeline so he couldn't miss it LOL He was really impressed with the reviews on the different sites for it and I think I am swaying him my way. He still thinks it's a mistake to buy a low end machine but pretty sure he'll cave. I don't need his permission to buy it but on big purchases I prefer if we are both on the same page.

After checking it's reviews on Amazon I'm not so sure about it anymore. A lot of people having issues with constantly breaking threads and it eating their projects. Hate to admit it but maybe DH was right, need to go a bit more to get a good one.

I have those problems with mine. It helps to use a face plate with a single hole...not with the wide hole like for doing zig-zags.

Maybe I'll just upgrade my sewing machine instead of going for an embroidery machine. Not sure I can swing a good enough embroidery machine to make it worth while.

I was going to suggest that you check out the Brother applique machine that I have listed....only to find that eBay dropped the listing....grrrr.

I looked at one of those the other day. Think it makes smaller designs than what I am looking for though. Figured the refill stuff would be expensive too although I didnt' check much into that part of it. It may work if I can't find another solution. Will keep it in mind. Thanks

You may want to check craigs list. Many people buy those expensive machines then decide they just don't have the time to sew.

I checked the 2 local craigslists (within 100 miles LOL) and didn't see any that were reasonable enough. The few they had listed were just under retail. Way too much to spend for a machine with no warranty.
Loving the Brother Xv8500D and the PR1000E. Can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on a machine but aww man those are awesome.
