Maybe it's old news but I just got an email from Tradesy. Their flat rate commission is still the same on items less than $50 but anything over $50 is now charged 19.8%. It makes Ebay look good.

Last I read was in May, they were still at 14.9 percent, which is still higher than eBay.
I don't see them around too much longer. It's like they are just treading water hoping that someone will buy them out.

That's crazy.
I joined an app selling site for kids clothes to see if maybe my Christmas outfits will sell better there.
Their rates?
40%
UUUHHH NO

I took all my stuff off of Tradesy. I never did well there and the last item I sold took nearly a month to get my $.

Yikes, time to raise my prices over there again I guess. I don't sell a lot there, but it's an extra 3 or 4 hundred a month and I'd miss it.

They've got to be kidding... I think they'll go down before 2018.

Yep, I am done. I had removed all my stuff before I started moving. I will not be putting it back.

Their venture capital funds dried up earlier this year and I can't find any info saying they received any more funding. I don't give them much longer.

Are you guys who sell a lot there, like @makinmagic, pulling your stuff or are you going to ride it out for a while? I was thinking about the sales money being in limbo and not being able to get a disbursement if they go into bankruptcy, chapter 11 or whatever. That happened to me on two jobs and one consignment place, and I'm wary now.

I only had a few things left over there since the last increase, and I took them down this morning. That's just too much! I also opted out of their incessant emails.

Yeah, pushing all the same old boring designer stuff. They used to advertise other brands, or have specials featuring the "other" category. If I see one more email slobbering about that "celeb-loved LV" I have to have I'll probably just quit the site. Boring, boring, boring.

I will raise the prices again on the items that are over $50 and are relatively newly listed (older items, I don't care that much, I'd want to see them gone anyway). I never thought about the risk of losing the money that they hold in case of bankruptcy... I guess this is a risk I am willing to take. I still sell there pretty consistently, just sold $110 item this morning.

Chap, that's exactly why I removed my listings. Things were looking sad there and I didn't want to chance my $ being tied up in bankruptcy.

Well, I'm wiggle-waggle about it, but will keep my stuff up there and keep listing, but remove my money immediately it comes available, and will stay very alert. I don't sell that much there but what I do is considerably better than eBay.
If it goes, it'll go fast - that has been my experience, then if one has a lot of money tied up with them, it'll be in bankruptcy court forever. I never did get back wages from two of the three business collapses I was involved in (none owned or run by me) and that consignment shop that went under just absconded apparently - it was not worth pursuing in that case for a few bucks.

When I create my own eBay clone website, I'm calling it WiggleWaggle LOL Naw, can't do it. It reminds me of Wagglepop. Does anyone remember Wagglepop?

I'd forgotten all about Wagglepop. I wish I had a buck for all the busted online ventures (including my own).

I remember Wagglepop - it started well, but the owner was the King o' Drama and took all reverses so hard that he finally self-detonated, I think.
Wiggle-waggle is good ol' 18th century slang lol. Like namby-pamby.

Reminds me of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey & makes me think about "Dr Who" and smile!
Sorry for the hijack :-)

Like namby-pamby. Yup, someone questioned him on a couple of things and it was like total self-destruct mode. I had a couple things listed and lots of people had their cards on file. Total scam from the get-go. He could not take criticism or have his authority questioned at all. Too bad, there was a lot of hype too.

He wasted a YUGE opportunity - it was prime time for an aggressive competitor for eBay - net commerce overall hadn't started accelerating quite yet, Bezos hadn't taken over the world and proclaimed himself emperor, being still withing grasp of selling books out of his garage, the Chinese hadn't virtually invaded with boatloads of junk, and prices were still buoyant.
What a buffoon.

I have about 100 items listed there, dupes of ebay listings. I'll keep them there as another selling option, but I really havent sold anything there for awhile--it's very very slow. Good heads up on taking out the money right away--I'm going to do that now--I think I have close to $1000, was going to keep it there & splurge on some nice things for myself one day but I think it's too risky.
