Nope, says my order over $49 is not eligible for offer. Thanks for the alert anyway.

At the local big market I overhear guys chatting with each other about the dishes they're going to make. I thought the two big, burly, kind of rough looking characters chatting near the condiments section about making a really good baked chicken and what to have for sides was kind of sweet. It wouldn't surprise me to overhear that where you are, your guys are probably a bit more enlightened than the good ole boys who tend to populate large parts of Texas My area is all working class/middle class everyday people and very multiracial and multicultural, a real mish-mash. I think it bumps the sharp corners off people and makes them feel OK about what they want to do. But a lot of guys are really good cooks - we have some great bakers in our family. It snowed last night, then turned to rain, but may snow again tonight. It's close to freezing and the rain is really cold. I opted to go to Orangetheory for back to back classes rather than go running in the cold, wet weather. I figured as long as I have the membership, may as well use it. We'll be in the cold and wet hiking up north this weekend, anyway. I actually don't mind the cold rain itself, I just hate getting my feet wet when I'm out running - I'm like a cat that way - and my running shoes are just mesh. But my shoes get soaked, then my socks, and everything is a squishy mess and plodding along for miles like that is unappealing. I've got gore-tex boots for hiking.

Chap, same here with the rain. No yucky wet socks and feet. I have enough foot problems. The goretex shoes are a nice invention but they are uncomfortable as heck. I need to go back out and try some newer models to see if they have improved.

Just a reminder that there is no mail on Monday Feb 19 for President's Day.

More snow tonight. We are on the border of 0-2” and 2-4”.
Had training this morning. Ticks me off as it was for an hour. Got 4 hours pay but they really could and should have zoomed it. Had to drive all the way to work and back.

We are supposed to get snow here too, around dinner time.
I don't have to go anywhere so I am okay with it.

Going to be 69 here today. I'm hitting the yard hard & starting to prep my garden for spring.
I'm sooo ready for winter to be over.

I imagine the after work people will be there later buying bread and milk. They did have plenty of Dr Pepper 6 packs so I was happy🤣. They were on sale. 3/12.99. Yes too much money though. Used to be able to get 4.

Happy Friday guys. Another week that got away from me! It is mild and rainy here today, and tomorrow it's supposed to be gray and windy with a high in the 40s! My rose of sharon are already starting to leaf out and I need to mow the yard from all the clover and weeks. It feels like spring but winter too lol.
I'm still waiting to see if the VV will do 1/2 off for President's Day. They have the last several years. They never announce it till late in the day. Not great for those of us that are planners.
My sister is doing ok since the accident. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks in the neck brace, so she'll be about 1/3 of the way done. It's so limiting, to me it would actually be claustrophobic. She's being careful and doing everything she can to heal the best she can. Her oldest DD sent her this weird shower cap shampoo thing since she can't get the neck brace wet. It apparently has shampoo/conditioner right in the cap and you put it on your head and scrub. Her youngest DD came over yesterday and helped her do it, she lined the brace with Saran wrap first to keep it dry. She said it wasn't ideal but considering the circumstances it worked pretty well.
I am working slowly on turning my inventory, what a pain. I am getting lots of steps on my Fitbit lol.

Jes-good luck to your sister! I had that shower cap thing when I was in the nursing home after breaking my leg and shoulder. I couldn't get out of bed to get to the showers, so the cap thing had to do for a few weeks.
I am so anxious to be able to do yard work. I am on some gardening sites on Facebook and they keep teasing me with pictures of gardens growing elsewhere. Hollyhocks look interesting and beautiful and I want to try to plant them on each side of my shed since they might work there. Hopefully, the enormous amount of pine needles won't hamper their growth.

The last few days have been brutal with bone chilling wind. Doesn't matter what temps show or if sun's shining. Glad the week's over and plan on actually sleeping in tomorrow and hibernating next 2 days. Decided to check out ValueWorld after work to remind myself why I don't go there. Actually found a a book I've been wanting to get on my Amazon watch list for only $1 and a few more, all like new. The rest of the store was overpriced junk. Also stopped at GW I used to work at. Didn't see anybody I knew. The overpriced, outdated computer stuff taking up about 1/4 of the store was gone and furniture and bulk was back where it used to be. Hardly any pictures or electronics. Wares area was junky and overpriced as well as undesirable clothing. I laughed to myself how, when I mentioned putting out off season stuff, it was a stupid idea, but everything was out for sale, including Christmas and Halloween and down jackets and swimwear. Wasn't any fun not having a sale tag color to look for as they eliminated any sale colors.
Looks like I got home at the right time. Light flurries coming down have already coated everything. Expecting 1-2" of snow.

I need to go back out and try some newer models to see if they have improved. Goretex works great for hiking boots, but for regular shoes it seems pretty stiff, at least for running - the boots take a LOT of breaking in, though! I bought these, though, and they're very comfortable - not for running but just walking. Goretex leather hightop Converse
The snow stopped and it's brilliant outside today - back to clouds and rain tomorrow but not as cold.

These are what I bought the other day. They are an older style but in great condition. Icebug shoes

The Icebugs are more like my price. My Facebook feed keeps showing me Skechers shoes, but the ones that I like are the ones for kids. Darn it. Better price and colorful.

Snow was a bust. About 2 inches. Travelled north. Was a quick clipper instead of what they predicted.

We have about 6 inches of pretty fluffy snow. But the roads are just wet.
Nice header, Val!

Sketchers has gotten really boring lately - all neutral colors. Bleah. I do still find some cute prints/colors on QVC though. But at the actual Sketchers site? **yawn** Cold and cloudy here today. My patio rug came in but I'm waiting until Monday when we warm back up to get the patio set up.

Yes, QVC is showing me the cute ones too. So tempting, but at $100, way too expensive.

We got another 4-inches of snow over what we already got on Tuesday. The plow guys just left. Yesterday was sunny but very cold outside, last night was 14 degrees. Everything is frozen so it's slick and slippery out there. It's exhausting just getting dressed to go out in this weather.

I'm browsing on Temu for fake flowers for the patio I'm picky, I don't want anything that has to go in planter - the planter pots attract wasps Temu has some really cool greenery panels, and some with flowers on them too. All kinds of cool stuff for the patio. So many things, so little patio space

No way would I be going out in that weather. It is sunny and 49 here. I was supposed to pick up some cat food donations today but I put it off until Monday when it will be sunny and 68. Way too cold today for me to be stepping outside my house.

You just have to check regularly. I have found that I can search for a particular style on eBay and get the shoes for a lot less through discount Skecher sites, NIB. But I really don't need any, actually. But they are so cute!
