For price drops to be shared you have to lower the price 10% below the lowest historical price. If you are doing offer to liker, it needs to be a price discount and a shipping discount. It will only be sent out to those if it's lower than any previous offers on that item.

The several of mine fulfilled all of those criteria - that's why I'm so confused.

Maybe I’m not understanding. You lower the price, but the new price isn’t showing?

I get a notification in my news that the markdown to my likes was not sent because the price was not low enough, yet it was AND the app said :offer sent to likes" with every indication that it did same as all the others that 'took'.

If you sent an offer before, it won’t send to those same likers unless it’s lower than what you sent before. You’re right, it will say congrats and sent, but the comments will tell you it’s not low enough. I don’t know why it doesn’t warn you when creating the offer. If it’s the first time sending an offer and it’s 10% off and a shipping discount and it doesn’t go to anyone, you have a glitch and should probably contact posh support to look into it.

Good job on the explanation Kat! It took me a while to figure it out also. I agree, it should tell you the price needs to be lower than the last offer if it is to go to all the likers. It will only go to ones that never got the offer before. Who can remember all the offers we send out and to how many on each item?
The other thing I don't understand........ why we can't put a discount on the closet (like 20% off 3 or whatever) on the computer. You can only do it through the app on the phone. Why can't they have that option for laptops too? Weird. Unless I just can't find "Seller Tools" on the puter.
Other than that, I like selling on Posh although it is slower than eBay for me right now. eBay has been a slow steady trickle and that's OK.

sundance I can't find Seller Tools on the computer either, just the phone app.
After a record (for me) week last week on Ebay and Poshmark, it's like someone flipped off the switch on both of them. Basically nothing this week.

Good for you Sunset! Congrats on the good week. Something to be Thankful for!!!! And yes, I agree, it does feel like sometimes a switch is thrown and we are completely in the dark, or worse, invisible for a few days or a week, and then, voila, the spotlight comes on and sales resume. I don't know why that is.
Although I have had 2 Host Picks in the last week or so which was awesome and unexpected, I have made no sales on Posh in the last week, but did pick up quite a few more followers. I'm getting there slowly, but I find it very time consuming to try to keep up with the likers and followers and parties and and and............
I do think it is a good concept though and enjoy that it is different than just listing and forgetting until the listing runs out, like on eBay. And, I like that listing is free. That is a huge help to me. I don't mind paying the higher fee if it does sell & don't mind that it takes a few days for the money to be released.
I am frightened about what is coming with eBay money "management."

Cindy-your listings look so nice with the Christmas pines and all. My problem is that my stuff just sits, and my pines would look funny in the summer. So I would have to take new pics. Maybe my stuff would sell faster if I used stock pics like everyone else. I only had one item with a stock pic and someone wrote to ask me to take pics of the actual item. Wondering if the sellers with a ton of stock pics are asked that a lot?

Thanks Denise! I have fun using different flowers and branches in the pics & since my closet is "forest" treasures, I figure I can get away with leaving the flora in there year round. If I see it is a problem with things not selling, I will just retake the cover shot. Posh has been slow for me, but I have 3 to go to the PO from eBay & just now sold my neighbor Ann's Samsung phone & accessories that I just listed yesterday for her. She will be happy with that!
I don't have stock pics for anything in either store. Where do you even get those? If you read the Posh tips, it says buyers want to see the items on you, so take pics of yourself or someone wearing them. Uh...... no. If I am buying something, I don't want to think about other people wearing it, especially shoes, and especially if they say "new" I don't want to see anyone's stinky feet in them! Ewwwwwwwww..... Don't get me wrong, I do ALL of my shopping at thrifts since there isn't a mall anywhere (& I mean ANYWHERE) in this area, and have no problem with knowing it was pre-owned. I just don't want to SEE the previous owners. Is that just me being anal?

Wondering if the sellers with a ton of stock pics are asked that a lot? I use stock photos in a lot of my listings along with my own. I used to be dead set against it and would clutch the pearls when I saw a boardie or other good seller use them. I'm so over that. If I'm asked to take something down, I will. In one of the FB groups, I think it's Posh for Grown-Ups, a majority of them are adamant that they will NEVER buy from a closet that has any stock photos at all and are passionate about it. I think, "thank goodness your dramatic azz isn't shopping with me". (Then if you look at their love notes left, the only have bought one $7 item to satisfy the Ambassador requirement.) I see a lot of requests for the actual item, so I think you're right. Some sellers just put up the listing and wait to be asked questions about it or add more photos in case there is no interest in it.

I never can find any stock pics for the stuff that I list if I research it. Seems that the items have to be very new?

I find very few stock photos for my stuff, too - every once in a while I will. Somehow, though, given the stuff that I sell I'm not surprised - LOL. Maybe a stock photo in مجله مُد فارسى or 감성 스트랩백 lol.

I often do a collage with the stock photo and then my own. I feel odd with just a stock photo for my pre-owned stuff, though as long as there are photos of the actual item then that's all the info anyone needs. Many stock photos are from people buying skids or gaylords full of stuff on wholesale, and not infrequently they're also authorized to use the stock photos in the manifest. I used to buy box lots at wholesale (smaller scale) but I got my stuff from various overage and salvage places and there weren't any releases for photos. Its gotten too expensive now, though - many of these big clearance places sell below wholesale and we lost ours.

I never can find any stock pics for the stuff that I list if I research it. Seems that the items have to be very new? It depends. Some places remove their stuff right away. Often if you search Soft Surroundings, J Crew, J Jill or Chico's and put review after it you can find archived pictures. I make it a habit to frequent the websites of brands I usually find here. That way I kind of have an idea of what they call certain styles so I can try to google it. Those brands also use codes on their tags that might bring it up. I have a three minute rule and if I can't find a comp in three minutes I move on. A lot of times I will search to find a price comp on ebay or posh for say, J Jill red linen dress and mine will pop up by another seller with the catalog name. Sometimes I get all excited to find the name only to realize if I use it I'm only helping other sellers, unless a buyer really is searching for Easy Breezy Mediterranean Mixed Pocket Tee instead of Woven linen tops.

Wondering if the sellers with a ton of stock pics are asked that a lot? I use very few if any stock pictures and my stuff sells fine - I had four sales yesterday, people were purchasing within even doing a best offer and they weren't cheap items. I share a lot, though (this weekend has been tough because I haven't really been home and that app is SO inefficient). @makinmagic wrote a really informative post describing her regimen - I copied it to a virtual post-it and it sits right on my desk top - I use that as a guide. kat - I'll bet you're right about the price cut - I can't really remember when I do these flash sales how far I cut it or not. I didn't participate in this one because honestly, they have these closet clean-outs a lot and I don't want to bombard my likers with tons of offers.

You lower prices, no one buys anyway, then you have to change them all back, because in the future someone will lowball you on it anyway. I once sent offers to likers on every single item in my closet that had likes (almost 400 items). Got 2 (or 3, can't remember) sales, one bought outright and 1 or 2 countered.

It was so freezing in my house yesterday, I just couldn't resist. Shipping is really a steal coast to coast for such a bulky item too!

I've kind of stopped participating in those closet cleanouts so much, too - I'll do one ever several times, or I'll just do it for one area of my closet, like coats, or dresses or whatever. I was thinking that might work. I don't sell much on those. TBH, I think the site uses them too much and people get inundated with offers. If they had them say ever quarter or twice every quarter there would be more anticipation, I think.

I did a few today too, maybe 8 of the reductions, but so far... nada. No sales on POSH all week. I did get some good things at the thrift we stopped at today. 1/2 price on all clothes. Pants & jeans .50! Got 3 pair pair of shoes (not on sale but still pretty good prices,) a prego top for $.75 & a pr of NYDJ for .50 so it was worth the stop. Oh, & a 2 piece 3X long dress & jacket for $3.50. And, a bunch of wrapping paper sheets & some tissue paper for $.10 each. Score!

We went to the thrift sales, too - the DH was joking that at 50% off, we get to pay what most of the rest of the country pay all the time lol! There were two 80% sales, also, though - that was great!

Did you know that if you drop your price and a shipping discount kicks in, if they counter, they lose the discount?
